Abstract |
We analyse the minima of scalar potentials for multi-Higgs models where the scalars are arranged as either one triplet or two triplets of the discrete symmetries A(4), S-4, Delta (27), Delta (54), as well as Delta (3n(2)) and Delta(6n2) with n > 3. The results should be useful for both multi-Higgs models involving electroweak doublets and multi-flavon models involving electroweak singlets, where in both cases the fields transform as triplets under some non-Abelian discrete symmetry. |

Abstract |
Xe-CO2 mixtures are important alternatives to pure xenon in Time Projection Chambers (TPC) based on secondary scintillation (electroluminescence) signal amplification with applications in the important field of rare event detection such as directional dark matter, double electron capture and double beta decay detection. The addition of CO2 to pure xenon at the level of 0.05-0.1% can reduce significantly the scale of electron diffusion from 10 mm/root m to 2.5 mm/root m, with high impact on the discrimination of the events through pattern recognition of the topology of primary ionization trails. We have measured the electroluminescence (EL) yield of Xe-CO2 mixtures, with sub-percent CO2 concentrations. We demonstrate that the EL production is still high in these mixtures, 70% and 35% relative to that produced in pure xenon, for CO2 concentrations around 0.05% and 0.1%, respectively. The contribution of the statistical fluctuations in EL production to the energy resolution increases with increasing CO2 concentration, being smaller than the contribution of the Fano factor for concentrations below 0.1% CO2. |

Abstract |
The B-0, B-s(0), B+ and lambda(0)(b) hadron production asymmetries are measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fbc(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The measurements are performed as a function of transverse momentum and rapidity of the b hadrons within the LHCb detector acceptance. The overall production asymmetries, integrated over transverse momentum and rapidity, are also determined. |

Abstract |
We study Generalized Parton Distribution functions (GPDs) usually measured in hard exclusive processes and encoding information on the three dimensional partonic structure of hadrons and their spin decomposition, for non-zeroskewness within the AdS/QCD formalism. To this aim the canonical scheme to calculate GPDs at zero skewness has been properly generalized. Furthermore, we show that the latter quantities, in this non-forwardregime, are sensitive to non-trivialdetails of the hadronic light front wave function, such as a kind of parton correlations usually not accessible in studies of form factors and GPDs at zero skewness. |

Abstract |
This work reports on accurate, high-resolution measurements of the Mg-25(n, gamma)Mg-26 and Mg-25(n, tot) cross sections in the neutron energy range from thermal to about 300 keV, leading to a significantly improved Mg-25(n, gamma)Mg-26 parametrization. The relevant resonances for n+Mg-25 were characterized from a combined R-matrix analysis of the experimental data. This resulted in an unambiguous spin/parity assignment of the corresponding excited states in Mg-26. With this information experimental upper limits of the reaction rates for Ne-22(alpha, n)Mg-25 and Ne-22(alpha, gamma)Mg-26 were established, potentially leading to a significantly higher (alpha, n)/(alpha, gamma) ratio than previously evaluated. The impact of these results has been studied for stellar models in the mass range 2 to 25 M-circle dot. (C) 2017 The Author(s). Published by Elsevier B.V. |

Abstract |
The production of opposite-charge W-boson pairs in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV is measured using data corresponding to 3.16 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected by the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider in 2015. Candidate W-boson pairs are selected by identifying their leptonic decays into an electron, a muon and neutrinos. Events with reconstructed jets are not included in the candidate event sample. The cross-section measurement is performed in a fiducial phase space close to the experimental acceptance and is compared to theoretical predictions. Agreement is found between the measurement and the most accurate calculations available. |

Abstract |
We perform realistic simulations of the current and future long baseline experiments such as T2K, NOvA, DUNE and T2HK in order to determine their ultimate potential in probing neutrino oscillation parameters. We quantify the potential of these experiments to underpin the octant of the atmospheric angle 023 as well as the value and sign of the CP phase delta(CP) We do this both in general, as well as within the predictive framework of a previously proposed [1] benchmark theory of neutrino oscillations which tightly correlates theta(23) and delta(CP). |

Abstract |
Inclusive isolated-photon production in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV is studied with the ATLAS detector at the LHC using a data set with an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb(-1). The cross section is measured as a function of the photon transverse energy above 125 GeV in different regions of photon pseudorapidity. Next-to-leading-order perturbative QCD and Monte Carlo event-generator predictions are compared to the cross-section measurements and provide an adequate description of the data. |

Abstract |
The observation of the decay Xi(-)(b)-> J/psi Lambda K- is reported, using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb detector in pp collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The production rate of Xi(-)(b) baryons detected in the decay Xi(-)(b) -> J/psi Lambda K- is measured relative to that of Lambda(0)(b) baryons using the decay Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi Lambda. Integrated over the b-baryon transverse momentum p(T) < 25 GeV/c and rapidity 2.0 < y < 4.5, the measured ratio is f Xi(-)(b/) f Lambda(0)(b) B(Xi(-)(b)-> J/psi Lambda K-) / B(Lambda(0)(b)-> J/psi Lambda) = (4.19 +/- 0.29 (stat) +/- 0.15 (syst)) x 10(-2), where f(Xi)(b)(-) band f(Lambda)(b)(0)are the fragmentation fractions of b ->Xi(-)(b)and b ->Lambda(0)(b)transitions, and ss represents the branching fraction of the corresponding b- baryon decay. The mass difference between Xi(-)(b) and Lambda(0)(b) baryons is measured to be M(Xi(-)(b))-M(Lambda(0)(b)) = 177.08 +/- 0.47 (stat) +/- 0.16 (syst) MeV/c(2). |

Abstract |
A search for CP violation in D-+/- -> eta 'pi(+/-) and D-S(+/-) -> eta 'pi(+/-) decays is performed using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1), recorded by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The measured CP-violating charge asymmetries are A(CP)(D-+/- -> eta 'pi(+/-)) = (-0.61 +/- 0.72 +/- 0.53 +/- 0.12)% and A(CP)(D-S(+/-) -> eta 'pi(+/-)) = (-0.82 +/- 0.36 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.27)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second systematic, and the third are the uncertainties on the A(CP)(D-+/- -> K-S(0)pi(+/-)) and A(CP)(D-S(+/-) -> phi pi(+/-)) measurements used for calibration. The results represent the most precise measurements of these asymmetries to date. |
