Abstract |
Measurements of CP asymmetry in charmless B -> PV decays are presented, where P and V denote a pseudoscalar and a vector meson, respectively. Five different B -> PV decays from four final states, B-+/- -> pi(+/-)pi(+) pi(-), B-+/- -> K-+/-pi(+) pi(-), B-+/-->(KK+K-)-K-+/- and B-+/- -> pi(K+K-)-K-+/- are analyzed. The measurements are based on a method that does not require full amplitude analyses, and are performed using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by LHCb between 2015 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.9 fb(-1). In the pi(+) pi(-) P-wave, in the region dominated by the B-+/- -> rho(770)K-0(+/-) decay, a CP asymmetry of A(CP) = +0.150 +/- 0.019 +/- 0.011 is measured, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This is the first observation of CP violation in this process. For the other four decay channels, in regions dominated by the B-+/- -> rho(770)(0)pi(+/-), B-+/- -> K(-)*(892)(0) pi(+/-), B-+/- -> K(-)* (892)K-+/- and B-+/- -> (sic)(1020) K-+/- decays, CP asymmetries in the P-wave compatible with zero are measured. |

Abstract |
A search for direct CP violation in D-0 -> h(-)h(+) (where h = K or pi) is presented using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) collected in 2011 by LHCb in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The analysis uses D-0 mesons produced in inclusive semileptonic b-hadron decays to the D-0 μX final state, where the charge of the accompanying muon is used to tag the flavour of the D-0 meson. The difference in the CP-violating asymmetries between the two decay channels is measured to be Delta A(CP) = A(CP)(K-K+) – A(CP)(pi(-)pi(+)) = (0.49 +/- 0.30 (stat) +/- 0.14 (syst))%. This result does not confirm the evidence for direct CP violation in the charm sector reported in other analyses. |

Abstract |
We report on a search for direct CP violation in the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decay D+ -> K+K-pi(+/-) using a data sample of 476 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) annihilation data accumulated with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II electron-positron collider, running at and just below the energy of the Upsilon(4S) resonance. The integrated CP-violating decay rate asymmetry A(CP) is determined to be (0.37 +/- 0.30 +/- 0.15)%. Model-independent and model-dependent Dalitz plot analysis techniques are used to search for CP-violating asymmetries in the various intermediate states. We find no evidence for CP-violation asymmetry. |

Abstract |
A search is performed in the invariant mass spectrum of the B-c(+)pi(+) pi(-) system for the excited B-c(+) states B-c (2(1)S(0)) + and B-c(2(3)S(1)) + using a data sample of p p collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at the centre- of- mass energy of root s = 8TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb(-1). No evidence is seen for either state. Upper limits on the ratios of the production cross- sections of the Bc (2(1)S(0)) + and B-c(2(3)S(1)) + states times the branching fractions of Bc (2(1)S(0))(+) -> B-c(+)pi(+) pi(-) and B-c (2(3) S-1)(+) -> B-c*(+)pi(+) pi(-) over the production cross- section of the B-c(+) state are given as a function of their masses. They are found to be between 0.02 and 0.14 at 95% con fi dence level for B-c (2(1)S(0)) + and B-c (2(3)S(1)) + in the mass ranges [6830; 6890] MeV/c(2) and [6795; 6890] MeV/c(2), respectively. |

Abstract |
We present a search for f(J)(2220) production in radiative J/psi --> gamma f(J)(2220) decays using 460 fb(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e(+)e(-) collider. The f(J)(2220) is searched for in the decays to K+K- and (KSKS0)-K-0. No evidence of this resonance is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the branching fractions for J/psi --> gamma f(J)(2220) and f(J)(2220) --> K+K-((KSKS0)-K-0) as a function of spin and helicity are set at the level of 10(-5), below the central values reported by the Mark III experiment. |

Abstract |
We search for hadronic decays of a light Higgs boson (A(0)) produced in radiative decays of an Gamma(2S) or Gamma(3S) meson, Gamma -> gamma A(0). The data have been recorded by the BABAR experiment at the Gamma(3S) and Gamma(2S) center-of-mass energies and include (121.3 +/- 1.2) x 10(6) Gamma(3S) and (98.3 +/- 0.9) x 10(6) Gamma(2S) mesons. No significant signal is observed. We set 90% confidence level upper limits on the product branching fractions B(Gamma(nS) -> gamma A(0))B(A(0) -> hadrons) (n = 2 or 3) that range from 1 x 10(-6) for an A(0) mass of 0: 3 GeV/c(2) to 8 x 10(-5) at 7 GeV/c(2). |

Abstract |
A search is performed for heavy neutrinos in the decay of a W boson into two muons and a jet. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of approximately 3.0 fb-1 of proton-proton collision data at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV collected with the LHCb experiment. Both same-sign and opposite-signmuons in the final state are considered. Data are found to be consistent with the expected background. Upper limits on the coupling of a heavy neutrino with the Standard Model neutrino are set at 95% confidence level in the heavy-neutrino mass range from 5 to 50GeV/c2. These are of the order of 10(-3) for lepton-number-conserving decays and of the order of 10(-4) for lepton-number-violating heavy-neutrino decays. |

Abstract |
A search is presented for hidden-sector bosons, chi, produced in the decay B-0 -> K*(892)(0)chi, with K*(892)(0) -> K+pi(-) and chi -> mu(+)mu(-). The search is performed using pp-collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector. No significant signal is observed in the accessible mass range 214 <= m(chi) <= 4350 MeV, and upper limits are placed on the branching fraction product B(B-0 -> K*(892)(0)chi) X B(chi -> mu(+)mu(-)) as a function of the mass and lifetime of the chi boson. These limits are of the order of 10(-9) for chi lifetimes less than 100 ps over most of the m(chi) range, and place the most stringent constraints to date on many theories that predict the existence of additional low-mass bosons. |

Abstract |
A search is presented for massive long-lived particles, in the 20-60 GeV/c(2) mass range with lifetimes between 5 and 100 ps. The dataset used corresponds to 0.62 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb detector at root s = 7 TeV. The particles are assumed to be pair-produced by the decay of a Higgs-like boson with mass between 80 and 140 GeV/c(2). No excess above the background expectation is observed and limits are set on the production cross-section as a function of the long-lived particle mass and lifetime and of the Higgs-like boson mass. |

Abstract |
We search for single-photon events in 53 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collision data collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B-Factory. We look for events with a single high-energy photon and a large missing momentum and energy, consistent with production of a spin-1 particle A' through the process e(+)e(-) -> gamma A'; A' -> invisible. Such particles, referred to as “dark photons,” are motivated by theories applying a U(1) gauge symmetry to dark matter. We find no evidence for such processes and set 90% confidence level upper limits on the coupling strength of A' to e(+)e(-) in the mass range m(A') <= 8 GeV. In particular, our limits exclude the values of the A' coupling suggested by the dark-photon interpretation of the muon (g – 2)(mu) anomaly, as well as a broad range of parameters for the dark-sector models. |
