Abstract |
The B- -> D+K-pi(-) decay is observed in a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012. Its branching fraction is measured to be B(B- -> D+K-pi(-)) = (7.31 +/- 0.19 +/- 0.22 +/- 0.39) x 10(-5) where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic and from the branching fraction of the normalization channel B- -> D+pi(-)pi(-), respectively. An amplitude analysis of the resonant structure of the B- -> D+K-pi(-) decay is used to measure the contributions from quasi-two-body B- -> D-0* (2400)K-0(-), B- -> D-2* (2460)K-0(-), and B- -> D-J* (2760)K-0(-) decays, as well as from nonresonant sources. The D-J* (2760)(0) resonance is determined to have spin 1. |

Abstract |
The first observation of the B-s(0) -> D-s*(-/+) K-+/- decay is reported using 3.0 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment. The D-s*(-/+) mesons are reconstructed through the decay chain D-s*(-/+) -> gamma D-s(-/+) ((KK +/-)-K--/+pi(-/+)). The branching fraction relative to that for B-s(0) -> D-s*(-)pi(+) decays is measured to be B (B-s(0) -> D-s*K--/+(+/-))/B(B-s(0) -> D-s*(-)pi(+)) = 0.068 +/- 0.005(-0.002)(+0.003), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. Using a recent measurement of B(B-s(0) -> D-s*(-)pi(+)), the absolute branching fraction of B-s(0) -> Ds*K--/+(+/-) is measured as B(B-s(0) -> D*K--/+(+/-)) = (16.3 +/- 1.2(stat)(-0.5)(+0.7)(syst) +/- 4.8(norm)) x 10(-5), where the third uncertainty is due to the uncertainty on the branching fraction of the normalisation channel. |

Abstract |
A baryonic decay of the B-c(+) meson, B-c(+) -> J/psi p (p) over bar pi(+) is observed for the first time, with a significance of 7.3 standard deviations, in pp collision data collected with the LHCb detector and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) taken at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. With the B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+) decay as the normalization channel, the ratio of branching fractions is measured to be B(B-c(+) -> J/psi p (p) over bar pi(+)) /B(B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+)) = 0.143(-0.034)(+0.039) (stat) +/- 0.013 (syst). The mass of the B-c(+) messon is determined as M(B-c(+)) = 6274.0 +/- 0.4 (sysst) MeV/c(2), using the B-c(+) -> J/psi p (p) over bar pi(+) channel. |

Abstract |
We report the first observation of a baryonic B-s(0) decay, B-s(0). p (Lambda) over barK(-), using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1). The branching fraction is measured to be B(B-s(0) -> p (Lambda) over bar K-)+ B(B-s(0) -> p (Lambda) over bar K+) [5.46 +/- 0.61 +/- 0.57 +/- 0.50(B) +/- 0.32(f(s)/(d))] x 10(-6), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, the third uncertainty accounts for the experimental uncertainty on the branching fraction of the B-0 -> p (Lambda) over bar pi(-) decay used for normalization, and the fourth uncertainty relates to the knowledge of the ratio of b-quark hadronization probabilities f(s)/f(d). |

Abstract |
A search for B+ -> D-s(+) K+ K- decays is performed using pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.8 fb(-1), collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV with the LHCb experiment. A significant signal is observed for the first time and the branching fraction is determined to be B(B+ -> D-s(+) K+ K-) = (7.1 +/- 0.5 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.7) x 10(-6), where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third due to the uncertainty on the branching fraction of the normalisation mode B+ -> D-s(+)(D) over bar (0). A search is also performed for the pure annihilation decay B+ -> D-s(+)(D) over bar (0). No significant signal is observed and a limit of B(B+ -> D-s(+) phi) < 4.9 x 10(-7) (4.2 x 10(-7)) is set on the branching fraction at 95% (90%) confidence level. |

Abstract |
Using pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) and collected by LHCb in 2011 at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, we report the measurement of direct CP violation in B-s(0) -> K-pi(+) decays, A(CP) (B-s(0) -> K-pi(+)) = 0.27 +/- 0.04(stat) +/- 0.01(syst), with significance exceeding 5 standard deviations. This is the first observation of CP violation in the decays of B-s(0) mesons. Furthermore, we provide an improved determination of direct CP violation in B-0 -> K+pi(-) decays, A(CP)(B-0 -> K+pi(-) ) = -0.080 +/- 0.007(stat) +/- 0.003(syst), which is the most precise measurement of this quantity to date. |

Abstract |
Charm meson oscillations are observed in a time-dependent analysis of the ratio of D-0 -> K+pi(-)pi(+)pi(-) to D-0 -> K-pi(+)pi(-)pi(+) decay rates, using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) recorded by the LHCb experiment. The measurements presented are sensitive to the phase-space averaged ratio of doubly Cabibbo-suppressed to Cabibbo-favored amplitudes r(D)(K3 pi) and the product of the coherence factor R-D(K3 pi) and a charm mixing parameter y'(K3 pi). The constraints measured are r(D)(K3 pi) = (5.67 +/- 0.12) x 10(-2), which is the most precise determination to date, and R-D(K3 pi) y'(K3 pi) = (0.3 +/- 1.8) x 10(-3), which provides useful input for determinations of the CP-violating phase gamma in B-+/- -> DK +/-, D -> K--/+pi(+/-)pi(-/+)pi(+/-) decays. The analysis also gives the most precise measurement of the D-0 -> K+pi(-)pi(+)pi(-) branching fraction, and the first observation of D-0-(D) over bar (0) oscillations in this decay mode, with a significance of 8.2 standard deviations. |

Abstract |
The decay Z -> b (b) over bar is reconstructed in pp collision data, corresponding to 2 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity, collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 8 TeV. The product of the Z production cross-section and the Z -> b (b) over bar branching fraction is measured for candidates in the fiducial region defined by two particle-level b-quark jets with pseudorapidities in the range 2.2 < eta < 4.2, with transverse momenta p(T) > 20 GeV and dijet invariant mass in the range 45 < m(jj) < 165 GeV. From a signal yield of 5462 +/- 763 Z -> b (b) over bar events, where the uncertainty is statistical, a production cross-section times branching fraction of 332 +/- 46 +/- 59 pb is obtained, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The measured significance of the signal yield is 6.0 standard deviations. This measurement represents the first observation of the Z -> b (b) over bar production in the forward region of pp collisions. |

Abstract |
A search for B-(s)(0) -> K-S (0) K*(892)(0) decays is performed using pp collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The B-s (0) -> (KSK)-K-0*(892)(0) decay is observed for the first time, with a significance of 7.1 standard deviations. The branching fraction is measured to be B(B-s(0) -> (K) over bar K-0*(892)(0)) + B(B-s(0) -> K-0(K) over bar*(892)(0)) = (16.4 +/- 3.4 +/- 2.3) x10(-6), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. No evidence is found for the decay B-0 ->(KSK)-K-0*(892)(0) and an upper limit is set on the branching fraction, B(B-0 -> (K) over bar K-0*(892)(0)) + B(B-0 -> K-0(K) over bar*(892)(0)) < 0.96 x 10(-6) , at 90 % confidence level. All results are consistent with Standard Model predictions. |

Decay candidates with muon pairs that have an invariant mass in the range 675-875 MeV/c(2) are considered. This region is dominated by the rho(0) and omega resonances. The branching fraction in this range is measured to be B(D-0 -> K-pi(+)mu(+)mu(-)) = (4.17 +/- 0.12 (stat) +/- 0.40 (syst)) x 10(-6). This is the first observation of the decay D-0 -> K-pi(+)mu(+)mu(-). Its branching fraction is consistent with the value expected in the Standard Model. |
