Abstract We make predictions for the ratios of branching fractions of (B) over bar (0) and (B) over bar (0)(s) decays into J/psi and the scalar mesons f(0)(1370), f(0)(1710) or tensor mesons f(2)(1270), f(2)'(1525), K-2*(1430). The theoretical approach is based on results of chiral unitary theory where these resonances are shown to be generated from the vector meson-vector meson interaction. Eight independent ratios can be predicted, and comparison is made with the recent data on (B) over bar (0)(s) decay into J/psi f(2)'(1525) versus the (B) over bar (0)(s) decay into J/psi f(2)(1270).

Abstract We make predictions for ratios of branching fractions of (B) over bar (0) decays into D-0 and the scalar mesons f(0)(500), f(0)(980), a(0)(980), plus (B) over bar (0)(s) decay into D-0 and kappa(800). We also compare the pi(+)pi(-) production in the scalar channel with that observed in the rho channel and make predictions for the (B) over bar (0)(s) decay into D-0 and K*(892), comparing the strength of this channel with that of kappa(800) production. The work is based on results of the chiral unitary approach where the scalar resonances are generated from the pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar interaction. Up to an arbitrary normalization, the mass distributions and rates for decays into the scalar resonances are predicted with no free parameters. Comparison with experimental data is done when available.

Abstract We study the (B) over bar (0)(S) -> J/psi K+ K-, (B) over bar (0) -> J/psi K+ K, B- -> J/psi K+ K-, (B) over bar (0) -> J/psi pi(0)eta(-), decays and compare their mass distributions with those obtained for the (B) over bar (0)(S) -> J/psi pi(+) pi(-) and (B) over bar (0)(S) -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-). The approach followed consist in a factorization of the weak part and the hadronization part into a factor which is common to all the processes. Then what makes the reactions different are some trivial CabibboKobayashi- Maskawa matrix elements and the weight by which the different pairs of mesons appear in a primary step plus their final state interaction. These elements are part of the theory and thus, up to a global normalization factor, all the invariant mass distributions are predicted with no free parameters. Comparison is made with the limited experimental information available. Further comparison of these results with coming LHCb measurements will be very valuable to make progress in our understanding of the meson- meson interaction and the nature of the low lying scalar meson resonances, f(0)(500), f(0)( 980) and a(0)(980).

Abstract We perform a unitary coupled channel study of the interaction of the D*D-+(0), D*D-0(+) channels and find a state barely bound, very close to isospin I = 0. We take the experimental mass as input and obtain the width of the state and the (DD0 pi-)-D-0+ mass distribution. When the mass of the T-cc state quoted in the experimental paper from raw data is used, the width obtained is of the order of the 80 keV, small compared to the value given in that work. Yet, when the mass obtained in an analysis of the data considering the experimental resolution is taken, the width obtained is about 43 keV and both the width and the (DD0 pi+)-D-0 mass distribution are in remarkable agreement with the results obtained in that latter analysis.

Title (up) (K)over-bar N N absorption within the framework of the fixed-center approximation to Faddeev equations Type Journal Article

Abstract We present a method to evaluate the (K) over bar absorption width in the bound (K) over bar N N system. Most calculations of this system ignore this channel and only consider the (K) over bar N -> pi Sigma conversion. Other works make a qualitative calculation using perturbative methods. Since the (1405) resonance is playing a role in the process, the same resonance is changed by the presence of the absorption channels andwe find that a full nonperturbative calculation is called for, which we present here. We employ the fixed center approximation to Faddeev equations to account for (K) over bar rescattering on the (NN) cluster and we find that the width of the states found previously for S = 0 and S = 1 increases by about 30 MeV due to the (K) over bar N N absorption, to a total width of about 80 MeV.

Abstract We study the properties of (K) over bar* mesons in nuclear matter using a unitary approach in coupled channels within the framework of the local hidden gauge formalism and incorporating the (K) over bar pi decay channel in matter. The in-medium (K) over bar *N interaction accounts for Pauli blocking effects and incorporates the (K) over bar* self-energy in a self-consistent manner. We also obtain the (K) over bar* (off-shell) spectral function and analyze its behavior at finite density and momentum. At a normal nuclear matter density, the (K) over bar* meson feels a moderately attractive potential, while the (K) over bar* width becomes five times larger than in free space. We estimate the transparency ratio of the gamma A -> K+K*(-) A` reaction, which we propose as a feasible scenario at the present facilities to detect changes in the properties of the (K) over bar* meson in nuclear medium.

Abstract We perform a calculation of the cross section for nine reactions induced by (K) over bar scattering on protons. The reactions studied are K- p -> Lambda pi(+)pi(-), K- p -> Sigma(0)pi(+)pi(-), K- p -> Lambda pi(0)eta, K- p -> Sigma(0)pi(0)eta, K- p -> Sigma(+)pi(-)eta, (K) over bar (0) p -> Lambda pi(+)eta, (K) over bar (0) p -> Sigma(0)pi(+)eta, (K) over bar (0) p -> Sigma(+)pi(+)pi(-), and (K) over bar (0) p -> Sigma+pi(0)eta. We find that in the reactions producing pi(+)pi(-), a clear peak for the f(0)(980) resonance is found, while no trace of f(0)(500) appears. Similarly, in the cases of p. production, a strong peak is found for the a(0)(980) resonance, with the characteristic strong cusp shape. Cross sections and invariant mass distributions are evaluated which should serve, by comparing them with future data, to test the dynamics of the chiral unitary approach used for the evaluations and the nature of these resonances.

Title (up) A hidden-charm S =-1 pentaquark from the decay Lambda(b) into J/psi eta Lambda states Type Journal Article

Abstract The hidden-charm pentaquark P-c(4450) observed recently by the LHCb collaboration may be of molecular nature, as advocated by some unitary approaches that also predict pentaquark partners in the strangeness S = -1 sector. In this work we argue that a hidden-charm strange pentaquark could be seen from the decay of the Lambda b, just as in the case of the non-strange P-c(4450), but looking into the J/psi eta Lambda decay mode and forming the invariant mass spectrum of J/psi Lambda pairs. In the model presented here, which assumes a standard weak decay topology and incorporates the hadronization process and final-state interaction effects, we find the J/psi eta Lambda final states to be populated with similar strength as the J/psi K- p states employed for the observation of the non-strange pentaquark. This makes the Lambda b -> J/psi eta Lambda decay to be an interesting process to observe a possible strange partner of the P-c(4450). We study the dependence of the J/psi Lambda mass spectra on various model ingredients and on the unknown properties of the strange pentaquark.

Title (up) A narrow quasi-bound state of the DNN system Type Journal Article
Year 2013 Publication Nuclear Physics A Abbreviated Journal Nucl. Phys. A
  Volume 914 Issue Pages 499-504
Keywords Nuclear system with a D meson; Few-body system; Variational calculation; Faddeev calculation
Abstract We have investigated a charmed system of DNN (composed of two nucleons and a D meson) by a complementary study with a variational calculation and a Faddeev calculation with fixed-center approximation (Faddeev-FCA). In the present study, we employ a DN potential based on a vector-meson exchange picture in which a resonant A(c)(2595) is dynamically generated as a DN quasi-bound state, similarly to the A(1405) as a (K) over barN one in the strange sector. As a result of the study of variational calculation with an effective DN potential and three kinds of NN potentials, the DNN(J(pi) =0(-), I = 1/2) is found to be a narrow quasi-bound state below A(c)(2595)N threshold: total binding energy similar to 225 MeV and mesonic decay width similar to 25 MeV. On the other hand, the J(pi) =1(-) state is considered to be a scattering state of A(c)(2595) and a nucleon. These results are essentially supported by the Faddeev-FCA calculation. By the analysis of the variational wave function, we have found a unique structure in the DNN(J(pi) = 0, I = 1/2) such that the D meson stays around the center of the total system due to the heaviness of the D meson.

Abstract We have a look at the P-cs states generated from the interaction of (D) over bar(*)Xi(c)('*) coupled channels. We consider the blocks of pseudoscalar-baryon (1/2(+) , 3/2(+)) and vector-baryon (1/2(+), 3/2(+)), and find 10 resonant states coupling mostly to (D) over bar Xi(c), <(D)*over bar>*Xi(c), (D) over bar Xi(c)' <(DA novel aspect of the work is the realization that the <(Dover bar>Xi(c), (Dover bar>(s) Lambda(c) or (Dover bar>*Xi(c), D-s*Lambda(c) channels, with a strong transition potential, collaborate to produce a larger attraction than the corresponding states <(Dover bar>Xi(c), <(Dover bar>Lambda(c) or (D) over bar*Xi(c), (D) over bar*Lambda(c) appearing in the generation of the strangenessless P-c states, since in the latter case the transition potential between those channels is zero. The extra attraction obtained in the (D) over bar Xi(c), (D) over bar* Xi(c) pairs preclude the association of the P-cs(4338) state coupling mostly to (D) over bar*Xi(c) while the P-cs(4459) is associated to the state found that couples mostly to (D) over bar Xi(c)'. Four more states appear, like in other molecular pictures, and some of the states are degenerate in spin. Counting different spin states we find 10states, which we hope can be observed in the near future.
