Title Faddeev fixed-center approximation to the N K K(bar) system and the signature of a N*(1920)(1/2+) state Type Journal Article

Abstract We perform a calculation for the three-body N (K) over barK scattering amplitude by using the fixed-center approximation to the Faddeev equations, taking the interaction between N and (K) over bar, N and K, and (K) over bar and K from the chiral unitary approach. The resonant structures show up in the modulus squared of the three-body scattering amplitude and suggest that a N (K) over barK hadron state can be formed. Our results are in agreement with others obtained in previous theoretical works, which claim a new N* resonance around 1920 MeV with spin-parity J(P) = 1/2(+). The existence of these previous works allows us to test the accuracy of the fixed center approximation in the present problem and sets the grounds for possible application in similar problems, as an explorative tool to determine bound or quasibound three-hadron systems.

Title Regge signatures from forward CLAS Lambda(1520) photoproduction data Type Journal Article

Abstract The γp→K+Λ(1520) reaction mechanism is investigated within a Regge--effective Lagrangian hybrid approach based on our previous study of this reaction [Physical Review C89, 015203 (2014)]. Near threshold and for large K+ angles, both the CLAS and LEPS data can be successfully described by considering the contributions from the contact, t-channel K¯ exchange, u-channel Λ(1115) hyperon pole, and the s-channel nucleon pole and N∗(2120) resonance contributions. However, for higher energies and forward K+ angles, systematic discrepancies with data appear, which hint the possible existence of sizable quark-gluon string mechanism effects. We show how the inclusion of a K¯ Regge--trajectory exchange in the t-channel leads to an efficient description of the Λ(1520) photoproduction channel over the whole energy and angular ranges accessible in the CLAS experiment.

Title Looking for a hidden-charm pentaquark state with strangeness S =-1 from Xi(-)(b) decay into J/Psi K- Lambda Type Journal Article

Abstract Assuming that the recently observed hidden-charm pentaquark state, P-c(4450), is of molecular nature as predicted in the unitary approach, we propose to study the decay of Xi(-)(b) -> J/psi K-Lambda to search for the strangeness counterpart of the P-c(4450). There are three ingredients in the decay mechanism: the weak decay mechanism, the hadronization mechanism, and the final state interactions in the meson-baryon system of strangeness S = -2 and isospin I = 1/2 and of the J/psi Lambda. All these have been tested extensively. As a result, we provide a genuine prediction of the invariant mass distributions where a strangeness hidden-charm pentaquark state, the counterpart of the P-c(4450), can be clearly seen. The decay rate is estimated to be of similarmagnitude as the Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi K(-)p measured by the LHCb Collaboration.

Abstract Using the vector exchange interaction in the local hidden gauge approach, which in the light quark sector generates the chiral Lagrangians and has produced realistic results for Omega(C), Xi(c), Xi(b) and the hidden charm pentaquark states, we study the meson-baryon interactions in the coupled channels that lead to the Xi(bb) and Omega(bbb) excited states of the molecular type. We obtain seven states of the Xi(bb) type with energies between and MeV, and one Omega(bbb) state at MeV.

Abstract From a Faddeev calculation for the pi-(Delta rho)(N5/2)-(1675) system we show the plausible existence of three dynamically generated I (J(P)) = 3/2(5/2(+)) baryon states below 2.3 GeV, whereas only two resonances, Delta(5/2)+ (1905)( ) and Delta(5/2)+(2000)(**), are cataloged in the Particle Data Book Review. Our results give theoretical support to data analyses extracting two distinctive resonances, Lambda(5/2)+(similar to 1740) and Lambda(5/2)+(similar to 2200), from which the mass of Delta(5/2)+ (2000) is estimated. We propose that these two resonances should be cataloged instead of Delta(5/2)+(2000). This proposal gets further support from the possible assignment of the other baryon states found in the approach in the I = 1/2, 3/2 with J(P) = 1/2(+), 3/2(+), 5/(2)+ sectors to known baryonic resonances. In particular, Delta(1/2)+(1750)(*) is naturally interpreted as a pi N-1/2-(1650) bound state.

Abstract Using an interaction extracted from the local hidden-gauge Lagrangians, which brings together vector and pseudoscalar mesons, and the coupled channels rho N (s wave), pi N (d wave), pi Delta (s wave), and pi Delta (d wave), we look in the region ofv root s = 1400-1850 MeV and find two resonances dynamically generated by the interaction of these channels, which are naturally associated to N*(1520)(3/2(-)) and N*(1700)(3/2(-)). N*(1700)(3/2(-)) appears neatly as a pole in the complex plane. The free parameters of the theory are chosen to fit the pi N (d-wave) data. Both the real and imaginary parts of the pi N amplitude vanish in our approach in the vicinity of this resonance, which is similar to what happens in experimental determinations and which makes this signal very weak in this channel. This feature could explain why this resonance does not show up in some experimental analyses, but the situation is analogous to that of the f(0)(980) resonance, the second scalar meson after sigma[f(0)(500)] in the pi pi(d-wave) amplitude. The unitary coupled channel approach followed here, in connectionwith the experimental data, leads automatically to a pole in the 1700-MeV region and makes this second 3/2-resonance unavoidable.

Title Role of the N * (2080) resonance in the (gamma)over-right-arrowp -> K+ Lambda(1520) reaction Type Journal Article

Abstract We investigate the Lambda (1520) photoproduction in the (gamma) over right arrowp -> K+ Lambda(1520) reaction within the effective Lagrangian method near threshold. In addition to the “background” contributions from the contact, t-channel K-exchange, and s-channel nucleon pole terms, which were already considered in previous studies, the contribution from the nucleon resonance N*(2080) (spin-parity J(P) = 3/2(-)) is also considered. We show that the inclusion of the nucleon resonance N*(2080) leads to a fairly good description of the new LEPS differential cross-section data, and that these measurements can be used to determine some of the properties of this latter resonance. However, serious discrepancies appear when the predictions of the model are compared to the photon-beam asymmetry, which was also measured by the LEPS Collaboration.

Title Triangle singularity enhancing isospin violation in (B)over-bar(s)(0)-> J/psi pi(0)f(0)(980) Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Chinese Physics C Abbreviated Journal Chin. Phys. C
Volume 42 Issue 4 Pages (down) 044101 - 9pp
Keywords triangle singularity; light scalar meson; isospin violation; bottom meson decay
Abstract We perform calculations for the (B) over bar (0)(s)-> J/psi pi(0)f(0)(980) and (B) over bar (0)(s)-> J/psi pi(0)a(0)(980) reactions, showing that the first is isospin-suppressed while the second is isospin-allowed. The reaction proceeds via a triangle mechanism, with (B) over bar (0)(s)-> J/psi K*(K) over bar +c.c., followed by the decay K*-> K pi and a further fusion of K (K) over bar into the f(0)(980) or a(0)(980). We show that the mechanism develops a singularity around the pi(0)f(0)(980) or pi(0)a(0)(980) invariant mass of 1420 MeV, where the pi(0)f(0) and pi(0)a(0) decay modes are magnified and also the ratio of pi(0)f(0) to pi(0)a(0) production. Using experimental information for the (B) over bar (0)(s)-> J/psi K*(K) over bar +c.c. decay, we are able to obtain absolute values for the reactions studied which fall into the experimentally accessible range. The reactions proposed and the observables evaluated, when contrasted with actual experiments, should be very valuable to obtain information on the nature of the low lying scalar mesons.

Title The radiative decay D-0 -> (K)over-bar*(0)gamma with vector meson dominance Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Chinese Physics C Abbreviated Journal Chin. Phys. C
Volume 42 Issue 4 Pages (down) 043106 - 7pp
Keywords radiative decay; vector meson dominance; local hidden gauge symmetry
Abstract Motivated by the experimental measurements of D-0 radiative decay modes, we have proposed a model to study the D-0 -> (K) over bar*(0)gamma decay, by establishing a link with D-0 -> (K) over bar*(0) V (V = rho(0), omega) decays through the vector meson dominance hypothesis. In order to do this properly, we have used the Lagrangians from the local hidden gauge symmetry approach to account for V gamma conversion. As a result, we have found the branching ratio B[D-0 -> (K) over bar*(0)gamma]=(1.55-3.44)x10(-4), which is in fair agreement with the experimental values reported by the Belle and BaBar collaborations.

Title The K- p -> eta Lambda reaction in an effective Lagrangian model Type Journal Article

Abstract We report on a theoretical study of the K- p -> eta Lambda reaction near threshold by using an effective Lagrangian approach. The role of s-channel Lambda(1670), t-channel K*, and u-channel proton pole diagrams are considered. We show that the total cross section data are well reproduced. However, only including the s-wave Lambda(1670) state and the background contribution from t and u channels is not enough to describe the bowl structures in the angular distribution of the K- p -> eta Lambda reaction, which indicates that there should be higher partial waves contributing to this reaction in some energy region. Indeed, if we considered the contributions from a D-03 resonance, we could describe the bowl structures; however, a rather small width (similar to 2 MeV) of this resonance would be needed.
