Title Searching for new physics with three-particle correlations in pp collisions at the LHC Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 781 Issue Pages 505-509
Keywords pp interactions at LHC; Models beyond the Standard Model; Multiparticle azimuthal and rapidity correlations; Hidden Valley models; Correlated clusters
Abstract New phenomena involving pseudorapidity and azimuthal correlations among final-state particles in pp collisions at the LHC can hint at the existence of hidden sectors beyond the Standard Model. In this paper we rely on a correlated-cluster picture of multiparticle production, which was shown to account for the ridge effect, to assess the effect of a hidden sector on three-particle correlations concluding that there is a potential signature of new physics that can be directly tested by experiments using well-known techniques.

Title On the minimality of the order p(6) chiral Lagrangian Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 751 Issue Pages 256-261
  Keywords
Abstract A method to find relations between the operators in the mesonic Lagrangian of Chiral Perturbation Theory at order p(6) is presented. The procedure can be used to establish if the basis of operators in the Lagrangian is minimal. As an example, we apply the method to the two-flavor case in the absence of scalar and pseudo-scalar sources (s = p = 0), and conclude that the minimal Lagrangian contains 27 independent operators.

Title The Cabibbo angle as a universal seed for quark and lepton mixings Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 748 Issue Pages 1-4
Keywords PMNS matrix; CKM matrix; Cabibbo angle; Bi-Large mixing; Wolfenstein parameter; Neutrino mixing
Abstract A model-independent ansatz to describe lepton and quark mixing in a unified way is suggested based upon the Cabibbo angle. In our framework neutrinos mix in a “Bi-Large” fashion, while the charged leptons mix as the “down-type” quarks do. In addition to the standard Wolfenstein parameters (lambda, A) two other free parameters (psi, delta) are needed to specify the physical lepton mixing matrix. Through this simple assumption one makes specific predictions for the atmospheric angle as well as leptonic CP violation in good agreement with current observations.

Title Simplest scoto-seesaw mechanism Type Journal Article
Year 2019 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 789 Issue Pages 132-136
  Keywords
Abstract By combining the simplest (3,1) version of the seesaw mechanism containing a single heavy “right-handed” neutrino with the minimal scotogenic approach to dark matter, we propose a theory for neutrino oscillations. The “atmospheric” mass scale arises at tree level from the seesaw, while the “solar” oscillation scale emerges radiatively, through a loop involving the “dark sector” exchange. Such simple setup gives a clear interpretation of the neutrino oscillation lengths, has a viable WIMP dark matter candidate, and implies a lower bound on the neutrinoless double beta decay rate.

Title Inconsistency of the data on the K-1(1270) -> pi K-0*(1430) decay width Type Journal Article
Year 2022 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 824 Issue Pages 136827 - 3pp
  Keywords
Abstract We show, using the same Lagrangian for the K-1(1270) -> pi K-0*(1430) and K-0*(1430) -> K-1 (1270)pi decays, that the present PDG data on the partial decay width of K-1 (1270) -> pi K-0*(1430) implies a width for K-0*(1430) -> K-1 (1270)pi decay which is about one order of magnitude larger than the total K-0*(1430) width. A discussion on this inconsistency is done, stressing its relationship to the existence of two K-1(1270) states obtained with the chiral unitary theory, which are not considered in the experimental analyses of K pi pi data.

Title GPDs at non-zero skewness in ADS/QCD model Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 771 Issue Pages 563-567
Keywords Phenomenological models; Deep inelastic scattering (phenomenology)
Abstract We study Generalized Parton Distribution functions (GPDs) usually measured in hard exclusive processes and encoding information on the three dimensional partonic structure of hadrons and their spin decomposition, for non-zeroskewness within the AdS/QCD formalism. To this aim the canonical scheme to calculate GPDs at zero skewness has been properly generalized. Furthermore, we show that the latter quantities, in this non-forwardregime, are sensitive to non-trivialdetails of the hadronic light front wave function, such as a kind of parton correlations usually not accessible in studies of form factors and GPDs at zero skewness.

Title Double parton scattering: A study of the effective cross section within a Light-Front quark model Type Journal Article
Year 2016 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 752 Issue Pages 40-45
Keywords Partons; Multi parton interactions; Parton correlations
Abstract We present a calculation of the effective cross section sigma(eff), an important ingredient in the description of double parton scattering in proton-proton collisions. Our theoretical approach makes use of a Light-Front quark model as a framework to calculate the double parton distribution functions at low-resolution scale. QCD evolution is implemented to reach the experimental scale. The obtained values of sigma(eff) in the valence region are consistent with the present experimental scenario, in particular with the sets of data which include the same kinematical range. However the result of the complete calculation shows a dependence of sigma(eff) on x(i), a feature not easily seen in the available data, probably because of their low accuracy. Measurements of sigma(eff) in restricted x(i) regions are addressed to obtain indications on double parton correlations, a novel and interesting aspect of the three dimensional structure of the nucleon.

Title Pentaquarks with anticharm or beauty revisited Type Journal Article
Year 2019 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 790 Issue Pages 248-250
  Keywords
Abstract We use a constituent model to analyze the stability of pentaquark (Q) over bar qqqq configurations with a heavy antiquark (c) over bar or (b) over bar, and four light quarks uuds, ddsu or ssud. The interplay between chromoelectric and chromomagnetic effects is not favorable, and, as a consequence, no bound state is found below the lowest dissociation threshold.

Title Stable heavy pentaquarks in constituent models Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 774 Issue Pages 710-714
  Keywords
Abstract It is shown that standard constituent quark models produce ((c)over-barcqqq) hidden-charm pentaquarks, where c denotes the charmed quark and q a light quark, which lie below the lowest threshold for spontaneous dissociation and thus are stable in the limit where the internal (c)over-barc annihilation is neglected. The binding is a cooperative effect of the chromoelectric and chromomagnetic components of the interaction, and it disappears in the static limit with a pure chromoelectric potential. Their wave function contains color sextet and color octet configurations for the subsystems and can hardly be reduced to a molecular state made of two interacting hadrons. These pentaquark states could be searched for in the experiments having discovered or confirmed the hidden-charm meson and baryon resonances.

Title Consistency between SU(3) and SU(2) covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory for the nucleon mass Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 766 Issue Pages 325-333
Keywords Baryon chiral perturbation theory; Lattice QCD; Nucleon mass and sigma term
Abstract Treating the strange quark mass as a heavy scale compared to the light quark mass, we perform a matching of the nucleon mass in the SU(3) sector to the two-flavor case in covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory. The validity of the 19low-energy constants appearing in the octet baryon masses up to next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order[1] is supported by comparing the effective parameters (the combinations of the 19couplings) with the corresponding low-energy constants in the SU(2) sector[2]. In addition, it is shown that the dependence of the effective parameters and the pion-nucleon sigma term on the strange quark mass is relatively weak around its physical value, thus providing support to the assumption made in Ref.[2] that the SU(2) baryon chiral perturbation theory can be applied to study n(f) = 2 + 1lattice QCD simulations as long as the strange quark mass is close to its physical value.
