Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, ascending order (up)](img/sort_asc.gif) |
The production of prompt D0 mesons in proton-lead collisions in both the forward and backward rapidity regions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of √SNN= = 8.16 TeV is measured by the sNN LHCb experiment. The nuclear modification factor of prompt D0 mesons is determined as a function of the transverse momentum pT, and the rapidity in the nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass frame y*. In the forward rapidity region, significantly suppressed production with respect to pp collisions is measured, which provides significant constraints on models of nuclear parton distributions and hadron production down to the very low Bjorken-x region of similar to 10-5. In the backward rapidity region, a suppression with a significance of 2.0-3.8 standard deviations compared to parton distribution functions in a nuclear environment expectations is found in the kinematic region of pT 6 GeV/c and -3.25 < y* < -2.5, corresponding to x similar to 0.01. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, ascending order (up)](img/sort_asc.gif) |
The production of t (t) over bar, W + b (b) over bar and W+ c (c) over bar is studied in the forward region of proton-proton collisions collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.98 +/- 0.02 fb(-1). The Wbosons are reconstructed in the decays W -> lv, where l denotes muon or electron, while the b and cquarks are reconstructed as jets. All measured cross-sections are in agreement with next-to-leading-order Standard Model predictions. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, ascending order (up)](img/sort_asc.gif) |
The production of W and Z bosons in association with jets is studied in the forward region of proton-proton collisions collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.98 +/- 0.02 fb(-1). The W boson is identified using its decay to a muon and a neutrino, while the Z boson is identified through its decay to a muon pair. Total cross-sections are measured and combined into charge ratios, asymmetries, and ratios of W+jet and Z+jet production cross-sections. Differential measurements are also performed as a function of both boson and jet kinematic variables. All results are in agreement with Standard Model predictions. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, ascending order (up)](img/sort_asc.gif) |
The production of Xi(++)(cc) baryons in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 13 Tev is measured in the transverse-momentum range 4 < p(T) < 15 GeV/c and the rapidity range 2.0 < y < 4.5. The data used in this measurement correspond to an integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb(-1), recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2016. The ratio of the Xi(++)(cc) production cross-section times the branching fraction of the Xi(++)(cc) -> Lambda K-+(c)-pi(+)pi(+) decay relative to the prompt Lambda(+)(c) production cross-section is found to be (2.22 +/- 0.27 +/- 0.29) x 10(-4), assuming the central value of the measured Xi(++)(cc) lifetime, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, ascending order (up)](img/sort_asc.gif) |
The production rate of B-s(0) mesons relative to B-0 mesons is measured by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy root s = 13 TeV over the forward rapidity interval 2 < y < 4.5 as a function of the charged particle multiplicity measured in the event. Evidence at the 3.4 sigma level is found for an increase of the ratio of B-s(0) to B-0 cross sections with multiplicity at transverse momenta below 6 GeV=c, with no significant multiplicity dependence at higher transverse momentum. Comparison with data from e(+)e(-) collisions implies that the density of the hadronic medium may affect the production rates of B mesons. This is qualitatively consistent with the emergence of quark coalescence as an additional hadronization mechanism in high-multiplicity collisions. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, ascending order (up)](img/sort_asc.gif) |
The prompt production of +c baryons is studied in proton- lead collisions collected with the LHCb detector at the LHC. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1 : 58 nb recorded at a nucleon- nucleon centre- of- mass energy of p sNN = 5 : 02TeV. Measurements of the di ff erential cross- section and the forwardbackward production ratio are reported for +c baryons with transverse momenta in the range 2 < pT < 10 GeV =c and rapidities in the ranges 1 : 5 < y < 4 : 0 and 4 : 5 < y < 2 : 5 in the nucleon- nucleon centre- of- mass system. The ratio of cross- sections of +c baryons and D0 mesons is also reported. The results are compared with next- to- leading order calculations that use nuclear parton distribution functions. |

Abstract ![sorted by Abstract field, ascending order (up)](img/sort_asc.gif) |
The radiative decay Lambda(0 )(b)-> Lambda gamma is observed for the first time using a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Its branching fraction is measured exploiting the B-0 -> K*(0)gamma decay as a normalization mode and is found to be B(Lambda(0 )(b)-> Lambda gamma) = (7.1 +/- 1.5 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.7) x 10(-6), where the quoted uncertainties arc statistical, systematic, and systematic from external inputs, respectively. This is the first observation of a radiative decay of a beauty baryon. |

The ratio of branching fractions of B-c(+) -> B-s(0)pi(+) and B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+) decays is measured with proton-proton collision data of a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV. The data were collected with the LHCb experiment during 2016-2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb(-1). The B-s(0) mesons are reconstructed via the decays B-s(0) -> J/psi phi and B-s(0) -> D-s(-)pi(+). The ratio of branching fractions is measured to be B(B-c(+) -> B-s(0)pi(+))/B(B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+)) = 91 +/- 10 +/- 8 +/- 3 where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the knowledge of the branching fractions of the intermediate state decays. |

The ratio of branching fractions R(D*(-)) = B(B-0 -> D*(-) tau(+)nu(tau))/(B-0 -> D*(-) mu(+)nu(mu)) is measured using a data sample of proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). The tau lepton is reconstructed with three charged pions in the final state. A novel method is used that exploits the different vertex topologies of signal and backgrounds to isolate samples of semitauonic decays of b hadrons with high purity. Using the B-0 -> D*(-) pi(+)pi(-)pi(+) decay as the normalization channel, the ratio B(B-0 -> D*(-) tau(+)nu(tau))/B(B-0 -> D* pi(+)pi(-)pi(+)) is measured to be 1.97 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.18, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. An average of branching fraction measurements for the normalization channel is used to derive B(B-0 -> D*(-) tau(+)nu(tau))(_)= (1.42 +/- 0.094 +/- 0.129 +/- 0.054)%, where the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of B(B-0 -> D*(-) pi(+)pi(-)pi(+)). A test of lepton flavor universality is performed using the well- measured branching fraction B(B-0 -> D*(-) mu(+)nu(mu)) to compute R(D*(-))0 = 0.291 +/- 0.019 +/- 0.026 +/- 0.013, where the third uncertainty originates from the uncertainties on B(B-0 -> D*(-) pi(+)pi(-)pi(+)) and B(B-0 -> D*(-) mu(+)nu(mu)) This measurement is in agreement with the Standard Model prediction and with previous measurements. |
