CDF Collaboration(Aaltonen, T. et al), & Cabrera, S. (2011). Measurement of the Forward-Backward Asymmetry in the B -> K-(*) mu(+)mu(-) Decay and First Observation of the B-s(0) -> phi mu(+)mu(-) Decay. Phys. Rev. Lett., 106(16), 161801–7pp.
Abstract: We reconstruct the rare decays B+ -> K+ mu(+)mu(-), B-0 -> K*(892)(0) mu(+)mu(-), and B-s(0) -> phi(1020) mu(+)mu(-) in a data sample corresponding to 4.4 fb(-1) collected in p (p) over bar collisions at root s = 1.96 TeV by the CDF II detector at the Tevatron Collider. Using 121 +/- 16 B+ -> K+ mu(+)mu(-) and 101 +/- 12 B-0 -> K-*0 mu(+)mu(-) decays we report the branching ratios. In addition, we report the differential branching ratio and the muon forwardbackward asymmetry in the B+ and B-0 decay modes, and the K-*0 longitudinal polarization fraction in the B-0 decay mode with respect to the squared dimuon mass. These are consistent with the predictions, and most recent determinations from other experiments and of comparable accuracy. We also report the first observation of the B-s(0) -> phi mu(+)mu(-) decay and measure its branching ratio BR(B-s(0) -> phi mu(+)mu(-)) = [1.44 +/- 0.33 +/- 0.46] x 10(-6) using 27 +/- 6 signal events. This is currently the most rare B-s(0) decay observed.

Borexino Collaboration(Bellini, G. et al), & Pena-Garay, C. (2011). Precision Measurement of the (7)Be Solar Neutrino Interaction Rate in Borexino. Phys. Rev. Lett., 107(14), 141302–5pp.
Abstract: The rate of neutrino-electron elastic scattering interactions from 862 keV (7)Be solar neutrinos in Borexino is determined to be 46.0 +/- 1.5(stat)(-1.6)(+1.5)(syst)counts/(day . 100 ton). This corresponds to a nu(e)-equivalent (7)Be solar neutrino flux of (3.10 +/- 0.15) x 10(9) cm(-2) s(-1) and, under the assumption of nu(e) transition to other active neutrino flavours, yields an electron neutrino survival probability of 0.51 +/- 0.07 at 862 keV. The no flavor change hypothesis is ruled out at 5.0 sigma. A global solar neutrino analysis with free fluxes determines Phi(pp) = 6.06(-0.66)(+0.02) x 10(10) cm(-2) s(-1) and Phi(CNO) < 1.3 x 10(9) cm(-2) s(-1) (95% C.L.). These results significantly improve the precision with which the Mikheyev-Smirnov-Wolfenstein large mixing angle neutrino oscillation model is experimentally tested at low energy.

ATLAS Collaboration(Aad, G. et al), Amoros, G., Cabrera Urban, S., Castillo Gimenez, V., Costa, M. J., Escobar, C., et al. (2011). Search for Supersymmetry Using Final States with One Lepton, Jets, and Missing Transverse Momentum with the ATLAS Detector in sqrt(s)=7 TeV pp Collisions. Phys. Rev. Lett., 106(13), 131802–19pp.
Abstract: This Letter presents the first search for supersymmetry in final states containing one isolated electron or muon, jets, and missing transverse momentum from root s = 7 TeV proton-proton collisions at the LHC. The data were recorded by the ATLAS experiment during 2010 and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 35 pb(-1). No excess above the standard model background expectation is observed. Limits are set on the parameters of the minimal supergravity framework, extending previous limits. Within this framework, for A(0) = 0 GeV, tan beta = 3, and μ> 0 and for equal squark and gluino masses, gluino masses below 700 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level.

Olmo, G. J., & Rubiera-Garcia, D. (2011). Palatini f(R) black holes in nonlinear electrodynamics. Phys. Rev. D, 84(12), 124059–14pp.
Abstract: The electrically charged Born-Infeld black holes in the Palatini formalism for f(R) theories are analyzed. Specifically we study those supported by a theory f(R) = R +/- R(2)/R(P), where R(P) is Planck's curvature. These black holes only differ from their General Relativity counterparts very close to the center but may give rise to different geometrical structures in terms of inner horizons. The nature and strength of the central singularities are also significantly affected. In particular, for the model f(R) = R – R(2)/R(P) the singularity is shifted to a finite radius, r(+), and the Kretschmann scalar diverges only as 1/(r-r(+))(2).

Mayoral, C., Fabbri, A., & Rinaldi, M. (2011). Steplike discontinuities in Bose-Einstein condensates and Hawking radiation: Dispersion effects. Phys. Rev. D, 83(12), 124047–22pp.
Abstract: In this paper we extend the hydrodynamic results of {A. Fabbri and C. Mayoral, Phys. Rev. D 83, 124016 (2011).} and study, analytically, the propagation of Bogoliubov phonons on top of Bose-Einstein condensates with steplike discontinuities in the speed of sound by taking into account dispersion effects. We focus on the Hawking signal in the density-density correlations in the formation of acoustic blackhole-like configurations.
