Abstract Electron-positron colliders operating in the GeV center-of-mass range, or tau-charm energy region, have been proved to enable competitive frontier research due to several unique features. With the progress of high-energy physics in the last two decades, a new-generation Tau-Charm factory, called the Super Tau-Charm Facility (STCF), has been actively promoted by the particle physics community in China. STCF has the potential to address fundamental questions such as the essence of color confinement and the matter-antimatter asymmetry within the next decades. The main design goals of the STCF are a center-of-mass energy ranging from 2 to 7 GeV and a luminosity surpassing 5 x 10(34) cm(-2) s(-1) that is optimized at a center-of-mass energy of 4 GeV, which is approximately 50 times that of the currently operating Tau-Charm factory-BEPCII. The STCF accelerator has two main parts: a double-ring collider with a crab-waist collision scheme and an injector that provides top-up injections for both electron and positron beams. As a typical third-generation electron-positron circular collider, the STCF accelerator faces many challenges in both accelerator physics and technology. In this paper, the conceptual design of the STCF accelerator complex is presented, including the ongoing efforts and plans for technological research and development, as well as the required infrastructure. The STCF project aims to secure support from the Chinese central government for its construction during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).

Title Measurement of the production of a W boson in association with a charm quark in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV with the ATLAS detector Type Journal Article
Year 2014 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 05 Issue 5 Pages 068 - 67pp
Keywords Electroweak interaction; Hadron-Hadron Scattering; Charm physics
Abstract The production of a W boson in association with a single charm quark is studied using 4.6 fb(-1) of pp collision data at root s = 7 TeV collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. In events in which a W boson decays to an electron or muon, the charm quark is tagged either by its semileptonic decay to a muon or by the presence of a charmed meson. The integrated and differential cross sections as a function of the pseudorapidity of the lepton from the W-boson decay are measured. Results are compared to the predictions of next-to-leading-order QCD calculations obtained from various parton distribution function parameterisations. The ratio of the strange-to-down sea-quark distributions is determined to be 0.96(-0.30)(+0.26) at Q (2) = 1.9 GeV2, which supports the hypothesis of an SU(3)-symmetric composition of the light-quark sea. Additionally, the cross-section ratio sigma(W (+) +)/sigma(W (-) + c) is compared to the predictions obtained using parton distribution function parameterisations with different assumptions about the s-(s) over bar quark asymmetry.

Title Study of charm mixing and CP violation with D0→ K±π∓π±π∓ decays Type Journal Article
Year 2025 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 12 Issue 12 Pages 153 - 39pp
Keywords Charm Physics; CP Violation; Flavour Physics; Hadron-Hadron Scattering
Abstract A study of charm mixing and CP violation in D0 -> K +/-pi -/+pi +/-pi -/+ decays is performed using data collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions from 2015 to 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb-1. The ratio of promptly produced D0 -> K+pi-pi+pi- to D0 -> K-pi+pi-pi+ decay rates is measured as a function of D0 decay time, both inclusive over phase space and in bins of phase space. Taking external inputs for the D0-D<overline>0\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$ {D}<^>0-{\overline{D}}<^>0 $$\end{document} mixing parameters x and y allows constraints to be obtained on the hadronic parameters of the charm decay. When combined with previous measurements from charm-threshold experiments and at LHCb, improved knowledge is obtained for these parameters, which is valuable for studies of the angle gamma of the Unitarity Triangle. An alternative analysis is also performed, in which external inputs are taken for the hadronic parameters, and the mixing parameters are determined, including triangle x and triangle y, which are nonzero in the presence of CP violation. It is found that x=0.85-0.24+0.15%\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$ x=\left(0.{85}{-0.24}<^>{+0.15}\right)\% $$\end{document}, y=0.21-0.27+0.29%\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$ y=\left(0.{21}{-0.27}<^>{+0.29}\right)\% $$\end{document}, triangle x = (-0.02 +/- 0.04) % and Delta y=0.02-0.03+0.04%\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$ \Delta y=\left(0.0{2}_{-0.03}<^>{+0.04}\right)\% $$\end{document}. Title Measurement of CP asymmetry in D0 → KS0KS0 decays with Run 3 data Type Journal Article
Year 2026 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 02 Issue 2 Pages 253 - 25pp
Keywords Charm Physics; CP Violation; Flavour Physics; Hadron-Hadron Scattering
Abstract A measurement of CP asymmetry in D-0 -> (KSKS0)-K-0 decays is reported, based on a data sample of proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector in 2024 at a centre-of-mass energy of 13.6TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.2 fb(-1). The D-0 -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-) decay is used as calibration channel to cancel residual detection and production asymmetries. The time-integrated CP asymmetry for the D-0 -> (KSKS0)-K-0 mode is measured to be A(CP) (D-0 -> (KSKS0)-K-0) = (1.86 +/- 1.04 +/- 0.41)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical, and the second is systematic. This measurement represents the most precise single-experiment determination of this quantity to date.

Title Measurement of the Ωc0 and Ξc0 baryon lifetimes using hadronic b-baryon decays Type Journal Article
Year 2025 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 09 Issue 9 Pages 157 - 25pp
Keywords Charm Physics; Flavour Physics; Hadron-Hadron Scattering; Lifetime
Abstract The lifetimes of the Omega(0)(c) and Xi(0)(c) baryons are measured using a pp collision dataset collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). The charm baryons are produced in the fully reconstructed decay chains Omega(-)(b) -> Omega(0)(c)(-> pK(-)K(-)pi(+))pi(-) and Xi(-)(b) -> Xi(0)(c)(-> pK(-)K(-)pi(+))pi(-). The measurement uses topologically and kinematically similar B- -> D-0(-> K-K+pi(-)pi(+))pi(-) decays for normalisation. The measured lifetimes are tau(Omega c0) = 276.3 +/- 19.4 (stat) +/- 1.8 (syst) +/- 0.7(tau(D0))fs, tau(Xi c0) = 149.2 +/- 2.5 (stat) +/- 0.9 (syst) +/- 0.4(tau(D0))fs, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third due to the uncertainty of the D-0 lifetime. These results are consistent with previous measurements performed by the LHCb experiment.

Title Observation of the doubly-charmed-baryon decay Ξcc++ → Ξc0 π+ π+ Type Journal Article
Year 2025 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 10 Issue 10 Pages 136 - 23pp
Keywords Branching fraction; Charm Physics; Hadron-Hadron Scattering; QCD
Abstract A search for the doubly-charmed-baryon decay Xi(++)(cc) -> Xi(0)(c)pi pi(+) pi(+) is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb(-1). A significant structure consistent with the Xi(++)(cc) cc baryon is observed in the Xi(0)(c) pi(+)pi(+) invariant-mass spectrum. Using the Xi(++)(cc) ->Lambda(+)(c) K- pi(+pi+) decay as the normalisation channel, the branching fraction ratio, B(Xi(++)(cc) -> 0c p+p+)/ B(Xi(++)(cc) -> Lambda K-+(c)- pi(+)pi(+)), is measured to be 1.37 +/- 0.18 (stat) +/- 0.09 (syst) +/- 0.35 (ext). This measurement provides critical input for testing QCD factorisation methods in the weak decays of doubly-heavy baryons, particularly in quantifying nonperturbative effects such as final-state interactions and resonance contributions to the hadronisation process.

Title Search for charge-parity violation in semileptonically tagged D0 → K+ π- decays Type Journal Article
Year 2025 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 03 Issue 3 Pages 149 - 30pp
Keywords CP Violation; Oscillation; Charm Physics; Hadron-Hadron Scattering
Abstract An analysis of the flavour oscillations of the charmed neutral meson is presented. The ratio of D-0 -> K+ pi(-) and D-0 -> K- pi(+) decay rates is measured as a function of the decay time of the D-0 meson and compared with the charge-conjugated system to search for charge-parity violation. The meson flavour at production is double-tagged by the charges of the muon and pion in the preceding (B) over bar -> D*(2010)(+) mu(-) X and D*(2010)(+) -> D-0 pi(+) decays, respectively. These decays are selected from proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb(-1). The flavour oscillation parameters, relating to the differences in mass and width of the mass eigenstates, are found to be y' = (5.8 +/- 1.6) x10(-3) and (x')(2) = (0.0 +/- 1.2) x10(-4). No evidence for charge-parity violation is seen either in the flavour oscillations or in the decay, where the direct charge-parity asymmetry is measured to be A(D) = (2.3 +/- 1.7)%.

Title Study of Ds1(2460)+ → Ds+ π+π- in B → (D)over-bar(*)Ds+π+π- decays Type Journal Article
Year 2025 Publication Science Bulletin Abbreviated Journal Sci. Bull.
Volume 70 Issue 9 Pages 1432-1444
Keywords LHCb experiment; Spectroscopy; Amplitude analysis; Low-energy QCD; B physics; Charm physics
Abstract An amplitude analysis of the D-s1(2460)(+) -> D-s(+)pi(+)pi(-) transition is performed simultaneously in B-0 -> D-Ds+pi(+)pi(-), B+ -> (D) over bar D-0(s)+pi(+)pi(-), and B-0 -> D*D--(s)+pi(+)pi(-) decays. The study is based on a data sample of proton-proton collisions recorded with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of root s = 7,8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). A clear double-peak structure is observed in the m(pi(+)pi(-)) spectrum of the D-s1(2460)(+) -> D-s(+)pi(+)pi(-) decay. The data can be described either with a model including f(0)(500), f(0)(980), and f(2)(1270) resonances, in which the contributions of f(0)(980) and f(2)(1270) are unexpectedly large, or with a model including f(0)(500), a doubly charged open-charm tetraquark state T-c (s) over bar(++) and its isospin partner T-c (s) over bar(0). If the former is considered implausible, the T-c (s) over bar states are observed with high significance, and the data are consistent with isospin symmetry. When imposing isospin constraints between the two T-c (s) over bar states, their mass and width are determined to be (2327 +/- 13 +/- 13) MeV and (96 +/- 16(-23)(+170)) MeV, respectively, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The mass is slightly below the DK threshold, and a spin-parity of 0(+) is favoured with high significance. (c) 2025 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. and Science China Press.
