Abstract |
An angular analysis of the decay (B) over bar -> D*l(-)(nu) over bar (l), l is an element of {e, mu}, is reported using the full e(+) e(-) collision data set collected by the BABAR experiment at the Upsilon(4S) resonance. One B meson from the Upsilon(4S) -> B (B) over bar decay is fully reconstructed in a hadronic decay mode, which constrains the kinematics and provides a determination of the neutrino momentum vector. The kinematics of the semileptonic decay is described by the dilepton mass squared, q(2), and three angles. The first unbinned fit to the full four-dimensional decay rate in the standard model is performed in the so-called Boyd-Grinstein-Lebed approach, which employs a generic q(2) parametrization of the underlying form factors based on crossing symmetry, analyticity, and QCD dispersion relations for the amplitudes. A fit using the more model-dependent Caprini-Lellouch-Neubert (CLN) approach is performed as well. Our form factor shapes show deviations from previous fits based on the CLN parametrization. The latest form factors also provide an updated prediction for the branching fraction ratio R(D*) B((B) over bar -> D* tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau)) /B((B) over bar -> D*l(-)(nu) over bar (l)) = 0.253 +/- 0.005. Finally, using the well-measured branching fraction for the (B) over bar -> D*l(-)(nu) over bar (l) decay, a value of vertical bar V-cb vertical bar = (38.36 +/- 0.90) x 10(-3) is obtained that is consistent with the current world average for exclusive (B) over bar -> D(*)l(-)(nu) over bar (l) decays and remains in tension with the determination from inclusive semileptonic B decays to final states with charm. |

Abstract |
A search for the rare flavor-changing neutral current process B- -> Lambda(p) over bar nu(nu) over bar using data from the BABAR experiment has been performed. A total of 424 fb(-1) of e(+) e(-) collision data collected at the center-of-mass energy of the Upsilon(4S) resonance is used in this study, corresponding to a sample of (471 +/- 3) x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs. Signal B- -> Lambda(p) over bar nu(nu) over bar candidates arc identified by fast fully reconstructing a B+ decay in one of many possible exclusive decays to hadronic final states, then examining detector activity that is not associated with this reconstructed B+ decay for evidence of a signal B- -> Lambda(p) over bar nu(nu) over bar decay. The data yield is found to be consistent with the expected background contribution under a null signal hypothesis, resulting in an upper limit of B(B- -> Lambda(p) over bar nu(nu) over bar) < 3.0 x 10(-5) at the 90% confidence level. |

Abstract |
We study the process e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)eta gamma, where the photon is radiated from the initial state. About 8000 fully reconstructed events of this process are selected from the BABAR data sample with an integrated luminosity of 469 fb(-1). Using the pi(+)pi(-)eta invariant mass spectrum, we measure the e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)eta cross section in the e(+)e(-) center-of-mass energy range from 1.15 to 3.5 GeV. The cross section is well described by the Vector-Meson dominance model with four.-like states. We observe 49 +/- 9 events of the J/Psi decay to pi(+)pi(-)eta and measure the product Gamma B-J/Psi -> e+e-(J/Psi ->pi+pi-eta) = 2.34 +/- 0.43(stat) +/- 0.16(syst) eV. |

Abstract |
We study the Upsilon(1S) radiative decays to gamma pi(+)pi(-) and gamma K+K- using data recorded with the BABAR detector operating at the SLAC PEP-11 asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider at center-of-mass energies at the Upsilon(2S) and Upsilon(3S) resonances. The Upsilon(1S) resonance is reconstructed from the decay Upsilon(nS) -> pi(+)pi(-) Upsilon(1S), n =2, 3. Branching fraction measurements and spin-parity analyses of Upsilon(1S) radiative decays are reported for the I = 0 S-wave and f(2) (1270) resonances in the pi(+)pi(-) mass spectrum, the f'(2) (1525) and f(0) (1500) in the K+K mass spectrum, and the f(0)(1710) in both. |

Abstract |
The decay tau(-) -> K- K(S)v(tau) has been studied using 430 x 10(6) e(+) e(-) -> tau(+) tau(-) events produced at a center-of-mass energy around 10.6 GeV at the PEP-II collider and studied with the BABAR detector. The mass spectrum of the K- K-S system has been measured and the spectral function has been obtained. The measured branching fraction B(tau(-) -> K- K(S)v(tau)) = (0.739 +/- 0.011 (stat) +/- 0.020 (syst)) x 10(-3) is found to be in agreement with earlier measurements. |
