Title Spontaneous baryogenesis in spiral inflation Type Journal Article
Year (up) 2019 Publication European Physical Journal C Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. C
  Volume 79 Issue 6 Pages 456 - 11pp
  Keywords
Abstract We examined the possibility of spontaneous baryogenesis driven by the inflaton in the scenario of spiral inflation, and found the parametric dependence of the late-time baryon number asymmetry. As a result, it is shown that, depending on the effective coupling of baryon/lepton number violating operators, it is possible to obtain the right amount of asymmetry even in the presence of a matter-domination era as long as such era is relatively short. In a part of the parameter space, the required expansion rate during inflation is close to the current upper-bound, and hence can be probed in the near future experiments.

Title Search for production of an invisible dark photon in (0) decays Type Journal Article
Year (up) 2019 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 05 Issue 5 Pages 182 - 20pp
Keywords Beyond Standard Model; Exotics; Fixed target experiments; Rare decay
Abstract The results of a search for (0) decays to a photon and an invisible massive dark photon at the NA62 experiment at the CERN SPS are reported. From a total of 4.12 x 10(8) tagged (0) mesons, no signal is observed. Assuming a kinetic-mixing interaction, limits are set on the dark photon coupling to the ordinary photon as a function of the dark photon mass, improving on previous searches in the mass range 60-110 MeV/c(2). The present results are interpreted in terms of an upper limit of the branching ratio of the electro-weak decay 0improving the current limit by more than three orders of magnitude.

Title Search for heavy charged long-lived particles in the ATLAS detector in 36.1 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data at root s=13 Te V Type Journal Article
Year (up) 2019 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 99 Issue 9 Pages 092007 - 34pp
  Keywords
Abstract A search for heavy charged long-lived particles is performed using a data sample of 36.1 fb(-1) of protonproton collisions at root s = 13 TeV collected by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The search is based on observables related to ionization energy loss and time of flight, which are sensitive to the velocity of heavy charged particles traveling significantly slower than the speed of light. Multiple search strategies for a wide range of lifetimes, corresponding to path lengths of a few meters, are defined as model independently as possible, by referencing several representative physics cases that yield long-lived particles within supersymmetric models, such as gluinos/squarks (R-hadrons), charginos and staus. No significant deviations from the expected Standard Model background are observed. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are provided on the production cross sections of long-lived R-hadrons as well as directly pair-produced staus and charginos. These results translate into lower limits on the masses of long-lived gluino, sbottom and stop R-hadrons, as well as staus and charginos of 2000, 1250, 1340, 430, and 1090 GeV, respectively.

Title Production of exotic tetraquarks QQ(q)over-bar (q)over-bar in heavy-ion collisions at the LHC Type Journal Article
Year (up) 2019 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 99 Issue 9 Pages 094037 - 8pp
  Keywords
Abstract We investigate the production of exotic tetraquarks, QQ (q) over bar (q) over bar T-QQ (Q = c or b and q = u or d), in relativistic heavy-ion collisions using the quark coalescence model. The T-QQ yield is given by the overlap of the density matrix of the constituents in the emission source with the Wigner function of the produced tetraquark. The tetraquark wave function is obtained from exact solutions of the four-body problem using realistic constituent models. The production yields are typically one order of magnitude smaller than previous estimations based on simplified wave functions for the tetraquarks. We also evaluate the consequences of the partial restoration of chiral symmetry at the hadronization temperature on the coalescence probability. Such effects, in addition to increasing the stability of the tetraquarks, lead to an enhancement of the production yields, pointing towards an excellent discovery potential in forthcoming experiments. We discuss further consequences of our findings for the search of exotic tetraquarks in central Pb + Pb collisions at the LHC.

Title Proton Shell Evolution below Sn-132: First Measurement of Low-Lying beta-Emitting Isomers in Ag-123,Ag-325 Type Journal Article
Year (up) 2019 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 122 Issue 21 Pages 212502 - 6pp
  Keywords
Abstract The beta-delayed gamma-ray spectroscopy of neutron-rich Ag-123,Ag-325 isotopes is investigated at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory of RIKEN, and the long-predicted 1/2(-) beta-emitting isomers in Ag-123,Ag-325 are identified for the first time. With the new experimental results, the systematic trend of energy spacing between the lowest 9/2(+) and 1/2(-) levels is extended in Ag isotopes up to N = 78, providing a clear signal for the reduction of the Z = 40 subshell gap in Ag towards N = 82. Shell-model calculations with the state-of-the-art V-MU plus M3Y spin-orbit interaction give a satisfactory description of the low-lying states in Ag-123,Ag-325. The tensor force is found to play a crucial role in the evolution of the size of the Z = 40 subshell gap. The observed inversion of the single-particle levels around Ag-123 can be well interpreted in terms of the monopole shift of the pi 1g(9/2) orbitals mainly caused by the increasing occupation of nu 1h(11/2) orbitals.
