Abstract: From a Faddeev calculation for the pi-(Delta rho)(N5/2)-(1675) system we show the plausible existence of three dynamically generated I (J(P)) = 3/2(5/2(+)) baryon states below 2.3 GeV, whereas only two resonances, Delta(5/2)+ (1905)( ) and Delta(5/2)+(2000)(**), are cataloged in the Particle Data Book Review. Our results give theoretical support to data analyses extracting two distinctive resonances, Lambda(5/2)+(similar to 1740) and Lambda(5/2)+(similar to 2200), from which the mass of Delta(5/2)+ (2000) is estimated. We propose that these two resonances should be cataloged instead of Delta(5/2)+(2000). This proposal gets further support from the possible assignment of the other baryon states found in the approach in the I = 1/2, 3/2 with J(P) = 1/2(+), 3/2(+), 5/(2)+ sectors to known baryonic resonances. In particular, Delta(1/2)+(1750)(*) is naturally interpreted as a pi N-1/2-(1650) bound state.

Abstract: The resolution of Dyson-Schwinger equations leads to the freezing of the QCD running coupling (effective charge) in the infrared, which is best understood as a dynamical generation of a gluon mass function, giving rise to a momentum dependence which is free from infrared divergences. We calculate the interquark static potential for heavy mesons by assuming that it is given by a massive One Gluon Exchange interaction and compare with phenomenologyical fits inspired by lattice QCD. We apply these potential forms to the description of quarkonia and conclude that, even though some aspects of the confinement mechanism are absent in the Dyson-Schwinger formalism, the spectrum can be reasonably reproduced. We discuss possible explanations for this outcome.

Abstract: A new non relativistic quark model to calculate the spectrum of heavy quark mesons is developed. The model is based on an interquark potential interaction that implicitly incorporates screening effects from meson-meson configurations. An analysis of the bottomonium spectrum shows the appearance of extra states as compared to conventional non screened potential models.

Abstract: A generalized screened potential model (GSPM), recently developed to study the bottomonium spectrum, is applied to the calculation of charmonium masses and electromagnetic widths. The presence in the GSPM of more quark-antiquark bound states than in conventional nonscreened potential models, allows for the assignment of GSPM states to cataloged nonconventional J(++) charmonium resonances as well as for the prediction of new (noncataloged) J(++) states. The results obtained seem to indicate that a reasonable overall description of J(++) charmonium resonances is feasible.

Abstract: We implement our past investigations of quark-antiquark interaction through a non-perturbative running coupling defined in terms of a gluon mass function, similar to that used in some Schwinger-Dyson approaches. This coupling leads to a quark-antiquark potential, which satisfies not only asymptotic freedom but also describes linear confinement correctly. From this potential, we calculate the bottomonium and charmonium spectra below the first open flavor meson-meson thresholds and show that for a small range of values of the free parameter determining the gluon mass function an excellent agreement with data is attained.
