Abstract: The Cabibbo-suppressed decay Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi (c1)p(-) is observed for the first time using data from proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Evidence for the Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi (c2)p(-) decay is also found. Using the Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi (c1)pK(-) decay as normalisation channel, the ratios of branching fractions are measured to be<disp-formula id=“Equa”><mml:mtable displaystyle=“true”><mml:mtr><mml:mtd><mml:mfrac>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi c1p pi-</mml:mfenced>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> <mml:msub>chi c1pK-</mml:mfenced></mml:mfrac>=<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>6.59 +/- 1.01 +/- 0.22</mml:mfenced>x10-2,</mml:mtd></mml:mtr><mml:mtr><mml:mtd><mml:mfrac>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0 -> <mml:msub>chi c2p pi-</mml:mfenced>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0 -> <mml:msub>chi c1p pi-</mml:mfenced></mml:mfrac>=0.95 +/- 0.30 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.04,</mml:mtd></mml:mtr><mml:mtr><mml:mtd><mml:mfrac>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0 -> <mml:msub>chi c2pK-</mml:mfenced>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0 -> <mml:msub>chi c1pK-</mml:mfenced></mml:mfrac>=1.06 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.04,</mml:mtd></mml:mtr></mml:mtable><graphic position=“anchor” xmlns:xlink=“http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink” xlink:href=“13130202115658ArticleEqua.gif”></graphic></disp-formula><p id=“Par2”>where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the uncertainties in the branching fractions of chi (c1,2)-> J/psi gamma decays.<fig id=“Figa” position=“anchor”><graphic position=“anchor” specific-use=“HTML” mime-subtype=“JPEG” xmlns:xlink=“http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink” xlink:href=“MediaObjects/13130202115658FigaHTML.jpg” id=“MO1”></graphic

Abstract: The Xi(++)(cc) -> Xi('+)(c)pi(+) decay is observed using proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb(-1). The Xi(++)(cc) -> Xi('+)(c)pi(+) decay is reconstructed partially, where the photon from the Xi('+)(c) -> Xi(+)(c)gamma decay is not reconstructed and the pK(-)pi(+) final state of the Sc+ baryon is employed. The Xi(++)(cc) -> Xi('+)(c)pi(+) branching fraction relative to that of the Xi(++)(cc) -> Xi('+)(c)pi(+) decay is measured to be 1.41 +/- 0.17 +/- 0.10, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Jashal, B. K., Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Remon Alepuz, C., & Ruiz Vidal, J. (2022). Search for the decay B-0 -> phi mu(+) mu(-). J. High Energy Phys., 05(5), 067–21pp.
Abstract: A search for the decay B-0 -> phi mu(+) mu(-) is performed using proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). No evidence for the B-0 -> phi mu(+) mu(-) decay is found and an upper limit on the branching fraction, excluding the 0 and charmonium regions in the dimuon spectrum, of 4.4 x 10(-3) at a 90% credibility level, relative to that of the B-s(0) -> phi mu(+) mu(-) decay, is established. Using the measured B-s(0) -> phi mu(+) mu(-) branching fraction and assuming a phase-space model, the absolute branching fraction of the decay B-0 -> phi mu(+) mu(-) in the full q(2) range is determined to be less than 3.2 x 10(-9) at a 90% credibility level.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Garcia Martin, L. M., Henry, L., Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Remon Alepuz, C., et al. (2018). Measurement of the inelastic pp cross-section at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. J. High Energy Phys., 06(6), 100–18pp.
Abstract: The cross-section for inelastic proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV is measured with the LHCb detector. The fiducial cross-section for inelastic interactions producing at least one prompt long-lived charged particle with momentum p > 2 GeV/c in the pseudorapidity range 2 < eta < 5 is determined to be sigma(acc) = 62.2 +/- 0.2 +/- 2.5 mb. The first uncertainty is the intrinsic systematic uncertainty of the measurement, the second is due to the uncertainty on the integrated luminosity. The statistical uncertainty is negligible. Extrapolation to full phase space yields the total inelastic proton-proton cross-section sigma(inel) = 75.4 +/- 3.0 +/- 4.5 mb, where the first uncertainty is experimental and the second due to the extrapolation. An updated value of the inelastic cross-section at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV is also reported.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Garcia Martin, L. M., Henry, L., Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Remon Alepuz, C., et al. (2018). Measurement of CP violation in B-0 -> D-/+pi(+/-) decays. J. High Energy Phys., 06(6), 084–23pp.
Abstract: A measurement of the CP asymmetries S-f and S-(f) over bar in B-0 -> D--/+pi(+/-) decays is reported. The decays are reconstructed in a dataset collected with the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1). The CP asymmetries are measured to be S-f = 0.058 +/- 0.020(stat) +/- 0.011(syst) and S-(f) over bar = 0.038 +/- 0.020(stat) +/- 0.007(syst). These results are in agreement with, and more precise than, previous determinations. They are used to constrain angles of the unitarity triangle, vertical bar sin (2 beta + gamma)vertical bar and gamma, to intervals that are consistent with the current world-average values.
