Abstract: We study the reaction e(+)e(-) -> e(+)e(-) eta(c), eta(c) -> KSK +/-pi(-/+) and obtain eta(c) mass and width values 2982.2 +/- 0.4 +/- 1.6 MeV/c(2) and 31.7 +/- 1.2 +/- 0.8 MeV, respectively. We find Gamma(eta(c) -> gamma gamma)B(eta(c) -> KK pi) = 0.374 +/- 0.009 +/- 0.031 keV, and measure the gamma gamma* -> eta(c) transition form factor in the momentum transfer range from 2 to 50 GeV2. The analysis is based on 469 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected at PEP-II with the BABAR detector at e(+)e(-) center-of-mass energies near 10.6 GeV.

Abstract: We present results for the moments of observed spectra in inclusive semileptonic B-meson decays to charm hadrons (B) over bar -> X(c)l(-)(nu) over bar. Moments of the hadronic-mass and the combined mass-and-energy spectra for different minimum electron or muon momenta between 0.8 and 1: 9 GeV/c are obtained from a sample of 232 X 10(6) Gamma(4S) -> B (B) over bar events, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B-meson factory at SLAC. We also present a reevaluation of the moments of electron-energy spectra and partial decay fractions B((B) over bar -> X(c)e(-)(nu) over bar) for minimum electron momenta between 0.6 and 1: 5 GeV/c based on a sample of 51 X 10(6) Gamma(4S) -> B (B) over bar events. The measurements are used for the extraction of the total decay fraction, the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix element vertical bar V-cb vertical bar, the quark masses m(b) and m(c), and four heavy-quark QCD parameters in the framework of a Heavy-Quark Expansion (HQE). We find B((B) over bar -> X(c)l(-)(nu) over bar = (10.64 +/- 0.17 +/- 0.06)% and vertical bar V-cb vertical bar = (42.05 +/- 0.45 +/- 0.70) X 10(-3).

Abstract: We present a study of the inclusive D*(+/-) production in the decay of Y(1S) using (98.6 +/- 0.9) X 10(6) Y(2S) mesons collected with the BABAR detector at the Y(2S) resonance. Using the decay chain Y(2S) -> pi(+)pi Y-(1S), Y(1S) -> D*X-+/-, where X is unobserved, we measure the branching fraction B[Y(1S) -> D*X-+/-] = (2.52 +/- 0.13(stat) +/- 0.15(syst)% and the D*(+/-) momentum distribution in the rest frame of the Y(1S). We find evidence for an excess of D*+/- production over the expected rate from the virtual photon annihilation process Y(1S) -> gamma* -> c (c) over bar -> D*X-+/-.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Henry, L., Jashal, B. K., Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Remon Alepuz, C., et al. (2021). Search for heavy neutral leptons in W plus . μplus μ+/- jet decays. Eur. Phys. J. C, 81(3), 248–15pp.
Abstract: A search is performed for heavy neutrinos in the decay of a W boson into two muons and a jet. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of approximately 3.0 fb-1 of proton-proton collision data at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV collected with the LHCb experiment. Both same-sign and opposite-signmuons in the final state are considered. Data are found to be consistent with the expected background. Upper limits on the coupling of a heavy neutrino with the Standard Model neutrino are set at 95% confidence level in the heavy-neutrino mass range from 5 to 50GeV/c2. These are of the order of 10(-3) for lepton-number-conserving decays and of the order of 10(-4) for lepton-number-violating heavy-neutrino decays.

Abstract: Long-lived particles decaying to e(+/-) mu(-/+)nu, with masses between 7 and 50 GeV/c(2) and lifetimes between 2 and 50 ps, are searched for by looking at displaced vertices containing electrons and muons of opposite charges. The search is performed using 5.4 fb(-1) of pp collisions collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 13 TeV. Three mechanisms of production of long-lived particles are considered: the direct pair production from quark interactions, the pair production from the decay of a Standard-Model-like Higgs boson with a mass of 125 GeV/c(2), and the charged current production from an on-shell W boson with an additional lepton. No evidence of these long-lived states is obtained and upper limits on the production cross-section times branching fraction are set on the different production modes.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Henry, L., Jashal, B. K., Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Remon Alepuz, C., et al. (2021). Measurement of the branching fraction of the B0 -> Ds+ pi- decay. Eur. Phys. J. C, 81(4), 314–15pp.
Abstract: A branching fraction measurement of the B0 -> Ds+pi- decay is presented using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0fb-1. The branching fraction is found to be B(B0 -> Ds+pi-)=(19.4 +/- 1.8 +/- 1.3 +/- 1.2)x10-6, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third is due to the uncertainty on the B0 -> D-pi+, Ds+-> K+K-pi+ and D--> K+pi-pi- branching fractions. This is the most precise single measurement of this quantity to date. As this decay proceeds through a single amplitude involving a b -> u charged-current transition, the result provides information on non-factorisable strong interaction effects and the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element Vub. Additionally, the collision energy dependence of the hadronisation-fraction ratio fs/fd is measured through B<overbar>s0 -> Ds+pi- and B0 -> D-pi + decays.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Henry, L., Jashal, B. K., Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Remon Alepuz, C., et al. (2021). Observation of new excited Bs0 states. Eur. Phys. J. C, 81(7), 601–11pp.
Abstract: A structure is observed in the B +/- K -/+ mass spectrum in a sample of proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, collected with the LHCb detector and corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb-1. The structure is interpreted as the result of overlapping excited Bs0 states. With high significance, a two-peak hypothesis provides a better description of the data than a single resonance. Under this hypothesis the masses and widths of the two states, assuming they decay directly to B +/- K -/+, are determined to be m1 = 6063.5 +/- 1.2 (stat) +/- 0.8 (syst) MeV
Gamma 1 = 26 +/- 4 (stat) +/- 4 (syst) MeV
m2 = 6114 +/- 3 (stat) +/- 5 (syst) MeV
Gamma 2 = 66 +/- 18 (stat) +/- 21 (syst) MeV
Alternative values assuming a decay through B +/- K -/+, with a missing photon from the B +/- -> B +/- gamma decay, which are shifted by approximately 45 MeV, are also determined. The possibility of a single state decaying in both channels is also considered. The ratio of the total production cross-section times branching fraction of the new states relative to the previously observed Bs20 state is determined to be 0.87 +/- 0.15 (stat)+/- 0.19 (syst).

Abstract: A flavour-tagged time-dependent angular analysis of B-s(0) -> J/Psi phi decays is presented where the J/Psi meson is reconstructed through its decay to an e(+)e(-) pair. The analysis uses a sample of pp collision data recorded with the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). The CP-violating phase and lifetime parameters of the B-s(0) s system are measured to be phi(s) = 0.00 +/- 0.28 +/- 0.07 rad, Delta Gamma(s) = 0.115 +/- 0.045 +/- 0.011 ps(-1) and Delta Gamma(s) = 0.608 +/- 0.018 +/- 0.012 ps(-1) where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. This is the first time that CP-violating parameters are measured in the B-s(0) -> J/Psi phi decay with an e+e- pair in the final state. The results are consistent with previous measurements in other channels and with the Standard Model predictions.

Abstract: Using the entire sample of 467 x 10(6) Y(4S) -> B (B) over bar decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, we perform an analysis of B-+/- -> DK +/- decays, using decay modes in which the neutral D meson decays to either CP-eigenstates or non-CP-eigenstates. We measure the partial decay rate charge asymmetries for CP-even and CP-odd D final states to be A(CP+) = 0.25 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.02 and A(CP-) = 0.09 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.02, respectively, where the first error is the statistical and the second is the systematic uncertainty. The parameter A(CP+) is different from zero with a significance of 3.6 standard deviations, constituting evidence for direct CP violation. We also measure the ratios of the charged-averaged B partial decay rates in CP and non-CP decays, RCP+ 1.18 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.05 and RCP- = 1.07 +/- 0.08 +/- 0.04. We infer frequentist confidence intervals for the angle gamma of the unitarity triangle, for the strong phase difference delta(B), and for the amplitude ratio r(B), which are related to the B- -> DK- decay amplitude by r(B)e(i(delta B-gamma)) = A(B- -> (D) over bar K-0(-)) = A(B- -> (D) over bar K-0(-))/A(B- -> (DK-)-K-0). Including statistical and systematic uncertainties, we obtain 0: 24 < rB < 0: 45 ( 0: 06 < rB < 0: 51) and, modulo 180 degrees, 11.3 degrees < gamma < 22.7 degrees or 80.8 degrees < gamma < 99.2 degrees or 157.3 degrees < gamma < 168.7 degrees (7.0 degrees < gamma < 173.0 degrees) at the 68% ( 95%) confidence level.
