Title Infrared facets of the three-gluon vertex Type Journal Article
Year 2021 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 818 Issue Pages 136352 - 7pp
Keywords QCD; Three-gluon vertex; Lattice QCD; Schwinger-Dyson equations
Abstract We present novel lattice results for the form factors of the quenched three-gluon vertex of QCD, in two special kinematic configurations that depend on a single momentum scale. We consider three form factors, two associated with a classical tensor structure and one without tree-level counterpart, exhibiting markedly different infrared behaviors. Specifically, while the former display the typical suppression driven by a negative logarithmic singularity at the origin, the latter saturates at a small negative constant. These exceptional features are analyzed within the Schwinger-Dyson framework, with the aid of special relations obtained from the Slavnov-Taylor identities of the theory. The emerging picture of the underlying dynamics is thoroughly corroborated by the lattice results, both qualitatively as well as quantitatively.

Title Measurement of the atmospheric nu(e) and nu(mu) energy spectra with the ANTARES neutrino telescope Type Journal Article
Year 2021 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 816 Issue Pages 136228 - 7pp
Keywords Neutrino telescope; Atmospheric neutrinos; ANTARES
Abstract This letter presents a combined measurement of the energy spectra of atmospheric nu(e) and nu(mu) in the energy range between similar to 100 GeV and similar to 50 TeV with the ANTARES neutrino telescope. The analysis uses 3012 days of detector livetime in the period 2007-2017, and selects 1016 neutrinos interacting in (or close to) the instrumented volume of the detector, yielding shower-like events (mainly from nu(e) + (nu) over bar (e) charged current plus all neutrino neutral current interactions) and starting track events (mainly from nu(mu) + (nu) over bar (mu) charged current interactions). The contamination by atmospheric muons in the final sample is suppressed at the level of a few per mill by different steps in the selection analysis, including a Boosted Decision Tree classifier. The distribution of reconstructed events is unfolded in terms of electron and muon neutrino fluxes. The derived energy spectra are compared with previous measurements that, above 100 GeV, are limited to experiments in polar ice and, for nu(mu), to Super-Kamiokande.

Title Weak kaon production off the nucleon and Watson's theorem Type Journal Article
Year 2021 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 817 Issue Pages 136349 - 7pp
Keywords
Abstract We have improved the tree-level model of Ref.[1] for weak production of kaons off nucleons by partially restoring unitarity. This is achieved by imposing Watson's theorem to the dominant vector and axial-vector contributions in appropriate angular momentum and isospin quantum number sectors. The observable consequences of this procedure are investigated.

Title Total absorption gamma-ray spectroscopy study of the beta-decay of Hg-186 Type Journal Article
Year 2021 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 819 Issue Pages 136438 - 7pp
Keywords Betadecay; Totalabsorption spectroscopy; Shape coexistence
Abstract The Gamow-Teller strength distribution of the decay of Hg-186 into Au-186 has been determined for the first time using the total absorption gamma spectroscopy technique and has been compared with theoretical QRPA calculations using the SLy4 Skyrme force. The measured Gamow-Teller strength distribution and the half-life are described by mixing oblate and prolate configurations independently in the parent and daughter nuclei. In this theoretical framework the best description of the experimental beta strength is obtained with dominantly prolate components for both parent Hg-186 and daughter Au-186. The approach also allowed us to determine an upper limit of the oblate component in the parent state. The complexity of the analysis required the development of a new approach in the analysis of the X-ray gated total absorption spectrum.

Title Observation of the Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda+cK+K-pi(-) decay Type Journal Article
Year 2021 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
Volume 815 Issue Pages 136172 - 10pp
Keywords
Abstract The Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda+cK+K-pi(-) decay is observed for the first time using a data sample of proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of root s = 7 and 8 TeV collected by the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3fb(-1). The ratio of branching fractions between the Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda K-+(c)+ K-pi(-) and the Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda D-+(c)s(-) decays is measured to be B(Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda+cK+K-pi(-))/B(Lambda(0)(b) -> Lambda D-+(c)s(-)) = (9.26 +/- 0.29 +/- 0.46 +/- 0.26) x 10(-2), where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third is due to the knowledge of the D-s(-) -> K+K-pi(-) branching fraction. No structure on the invariant mass distribution of the Lambda K-+(c)+ system is found, consistent with no open-charm pentaquark signature.
