Abstract |
We study the D-s(+)-> pi(+) pi(+) pi(-) and D-s(+) -> pi(+) K+ K- decays adopting a mechanism in which the D-s(+) meson decays weakly into a pi+ and a q (q) over bar component, which hadronizes into two pseudoscalar mesons. The final state interaction between these two pseudoscalar mesons is taken into account by using the chiral unitary approach in coupled channels, which gives rise to the f(0)(980) resonance. Hence, we obtain the invariant mass distributions of the pairs pi(+) pi(-) and K+ K- after the decay of that resonance and compare our theoretical amplitudes with those available from the experimental data. Our results are in a fair agreement with the shape of these data, within large experimental uncertainty, and a f(0)(980) signal is seen in both the pi(+) pi(-) and K+ K- distributions. Predictions for the relative size of pi(+) pi(-) and K+ K- distributions are made. |

Abstract |
Ward-Green-Takahashi (WGT) identities play a crucial role in hadron physics, e.g. imposing stringent relationships between the kernels of the one-and two-body problems, which must be preserved in any veracious treatment of mesons as bound states. In this connection, one may view the dressed gluon-quark vertex, Gamma(alpha)(mu), as fundamental. We use a novel representation of Gamma(alpha)(mu), in terms of the gluon-quark scattering matrix, to develop a method capable of elucidating the unique quark-antiquark Bethe-Salpeter kernel, K, that is symmetry consistent with a given quark gap equation. A strength of the scheme is its ability to expose and capitalize on graphic symmetries within the kernels. This is displayed in an analysis that reveals the origin of H-diagrams in K, which are two-particle-irreducible contributions, generated as two-loop diagrams involving the three-gluon vertex, that cannot be absorbed as a dressing of Gamma(alpha)(mu) in a Bethe-Salpeter kernel nor expressed as a member of the class of crossed-box diagrams. Thus, there are no general circumstances under which the WGT identities essential for a valid description of mesons can be preserved by a Bethe-Salpeter kernel obtained simply by dressing both gluon-quark vertices in a ladderlike truncation; and, moreover, adding any number of similarly dressed crossed-box diagrams cannot improve the situation. |

Abstract |
There has been a great deal of theoretical work on sophisticated charged current quasi-elastic (CCQE) neutrino interaction models in recent years, prompted by a number of experimental results that measured unexpectedly large CCQE cross sections on nuclear targets. As the dominant interaction mode at T2K energies, and the signal process in oscillation analyses, it is important for the T2K experiment to include realistic CCQE cross section uncertainties in T2K analyses. To this end, T2K's Neutrino Interaction Working Group has implemented a number of recent models in NEUT, T2K's primary neutrino interaction event generator. In this paper, we give an overview of the models implemented and present fits to published nu(mu) and (nu) over bar (mu) CCQE cross section measurements from the MiniBooNE and MINER nu A experiments. The results of the fits are used to select a default cross section model for future T2K analyses and to constrain the cross section uncertainties of the model. We find strong tension between datasets for all models investigated. Among the evaluated models, the combination of a modified relativistic Fermi gas with multinucleon CCQE-like interactions gives the most consistent description of the available data. |

Abstract |
Neutrino oscillations are a widely observed and well-established phenomenon. It is also well known that deviations with respect to flavor conversion probabilities in vacuum arise due to neutrino interactions with matter. In this work, we analyze the impact of new interactions between neutrinos and the dark matter present in the Milky Way on the neutrino oscillation pattern. The dark matter-neutrino interaction is modeled by using an effective coupling proportional to the Fermi constant GF with no further restrictions on its flavor structure. For the galactic dark matter profile we consider a homogeneous distribution as well as several density profiles, estimating in all cases the size of the interaction required to get an observable effect at different neutrino energies. Our discussion is mainly focused in the PeV neutrino energy range, to be explored in observatories like IceCube and KM3NeT. The obtained results may be interpreted in terms of a light O(sub-eV-keV) or weakly interacting massive particlelike dark matter particle or as a new interaction with a mediator of O(sub-eV-keV) mass. |

Abstract |
We study lepton flavor violating hadron decays of the tau lepton within the simplest little Higgs model. Namely we consider tau -> mu(P, V, PP) where P and V are short for a pseudoscalar and a vector meson. We find that, in the most positive scenarios, branching ratios for these processes are predicted to be, at least, four orders of magnitude smaller than present experimental bounds. |

Abstract |
The simplest inflationary models predict a primordial power spectrum (PPS) of the curvature fluctuations that can be described by a power-law function that is nearly scale invariant. It has been shown, however, that the low-multipole spectrum of the cosmic microwave background anisotropies may hint at the presence of some features in the shape of the scalar PPS, which could deviate from its canonical power-law form. We study the possible degeneracies of this nonstandard PPS with the active neutrino masses, the effective number of relativistic species, and a sterile neutrino or a thermal axion mass. The limits on these additional parameters are less constraining in a model with a nonstandard PPS when including only the temperature autocorrelation spectrum measurements in the data analyses. The inclusion of the polarization spectra noticeably helps in reducing the degeneracies, leading to results that typically show no deviation from the Lambda CDM model with a standard power-law PPS. These findings are robust against changes in the function describing the noncanonical PPS. Albeit current cosmological measurements seem to prefer the simple power-law PPS description, the statistical significance to rule out other possible parametrizations is still very poor. Future cosmological measurements are crucial to improve the present PPS uncertainties. |

Abstract |
The first study is presented of CP violation with an amplitude analysis of the Dalitz plot of B-0 -> DK+pi(-) decays, with D -> K+pi(-), K+K-, and pi(+)pi(-). The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collisions collected with the LHCb detector. No significant CP violation effect is seen, and constraints are placed on the angle gamma of the unitarity triangle formed from elements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix. Hadronic parameters associated with the B-0 -> DK*(892)(0) decay are determined for the first time. These measurements can be used to improve the sensitivity to gamma of existing and future studies of the B-0 -> DK*(892)(0) decay. |

Abstract |
We report the measurement of muon neutrino charged-current interactions on carbon without pions in the final state at the T2K beam energy using 5.734 x 10(20) protons on target. For the first time the measurement is reported as a flux-integrated, double-differential cross section in muon kinematic variables (cos theta(mu), p(mu)), without correcting for events where a pion is produced and then absorbed by final state interactions. Two analyses are performed with different selections, background evaluations and cross-section extraction methods to demonstrate the robustness of the results against biases due to model-dependent assumptions. The measurements compare favorably with recent models which include nucleon-nucleon correlations but, given the present precision, the measurement does not distinguish among the available models. The data also agree with Monte Carlo simulations which use effective parameters that are tuned to external data to describe the nuclear effects. The total cross section in the full phase space is sigma = (0.417 +/- 0.047(syst) +/- 0.005(stat)) x 10(-38) cm(2) nucleon(-1) and the cross section integrated in the region of phase space with largest efficiency and best signal-over-background ratio (cos theta(mu) > 0.6 and p(mu) > 200 MeV) is sigma = (0.202 +/- 0.036(syst) +/- 0.003(stat)) x 10(-38) cm(2) nucleon(-1). |

Abstract |
In this work, we investigate the mass corrections of the doubly charmed baryons up to (NLO)-L-2 in the extended-on-mass-shell (EOMS) renormalization scheme, comparing with the results of heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory. We find that the terms from the heavy baryon approach are a subset of those obtained in the EOMS scheme. By fitting the lattice data, we can determine the parameters (m) over tilde, alpha, c(1) and c(7) from the Lagrangian, while in the heavy baryon approach no information on c(1) can be obtained from the baryons mass. Correspondingly, the masses of m(Xi cc) and m(Omega cc) are predicted, in the EOMS scheme, extrapolating the results from different values of the charm quark and the pion masses of the lattice QCD calculations. |

Abstract |
We present the high-energy-neutrino follow-up observations of the first gravitational wave transient GW150914 observed by the Advanced LIGO detectors on September 14, 2015. We search for coincident neutrino candidates within the data recorded by the IceCube and ANTARES neutrino detectors. A possible joint detection could be used in targeted electromagnetic follow-up observations, given the significantly better angular resolution of neutrino events compared to gravitational waves. We find no neutrino candidates in both temporal and spatial coincidence with the gravitational wave event. Within +/- 500 s of the gravitational wave event, the number of neutrino candidates detected by IceCube and ANTARES were three and zero, respectively. This is consistent with the expected atmospheric background, and none of the neutrino candidates were directionally coincident with GW150914. We use this nondetection to constrain neutrino emission from the gravitational-wave event. |
