Abstract: Recently, an improved quenching factor (QF) measurement for low-energy nuclear recoils in CsI[Na] has been reported by the COHERENT Collaboration. The new energy-dependent QF is characterized by a reduced systematic uncertainty and leads to a better agreement between the experimental COHERENT data and the Standard Model (SM) expectation. In this work, we report updated constraints on parameters that describe the process of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering within and beyond the SM, and we also present how the new QF affects their interpretation.

Abstract: Within the chiral unitary approach, the axial-vector resonance K-1 (1270) has been predicted to manifest a two-pole nature. The lowest pole has a mass of 1195 MeV and a width of 246 MeV and couples mostly to K*pi, and the highest pole has a mass of 1284 MeV and a width of 146 MeV and couples mostly to rho K. We analyze theoretically how this double-pole structure can show up in D-0 -> pi+VP decays by looking at the vector-pseudoscalar (VP) invariant mass distribution for different VP channels, exploiting the fact that each pole couples differently to different VP pairs. We find that the final (K) over bar*pi and rho(K) over tilde channels are sensible to the different poles of the K-1 (1270) resonance and hence are suitable reactions to analyze experimentally the double-pole nature of this resonance.

Abstract: We study the structure of the Lambda(c) (2595) and Lambda(c) (2625) resonances in the framework of an effective field theory consistent with heavy quark spin and chiral symmetries, which incorporates the interplay between Sigma(()(c)*() )pi – ND(*()) baryon-meson degrees of freedom (d.o.f.) and bare P-wave c (u) over bard quark-model states. We show that these two resonances are not heavy quark spin symmetry partners. The J(P) = 3/2(-) Lambda(c) (2625) should be viewed mostly as a dressed three-quark state, whose origin is determined by a bare state, predicted to lie very close to the mass of the resonance. The J(P) = 1/2(-) Lambda(c) (2595) seems to have, however, a predominant molecular structure. This is because it is either the result of the chiral Sigma(c)pi interaction, whose threshold is located much closer than the mass of the bare three-quark state, or because the light d.o.f. in its inner structure are coupled to the unnatural 0(-) quantum numbers. We show that both situations can occur depending on the renormalization procedure used. We find some additional states, but the classification of the spectrum in terms of heavy quark spin symmetry is difficult, despite having used interactions that respect this symmetry. This is because the bare quark-model state and the Sigma(c)pi threshold are located extraordinarily close to the Lambda(c) (2625) and Lambda(c) (2595), respectively, and hence they play totally different roles in each sector.

Abstract: We analyze the strong CP problem and the implications for axion physics in the context of U-1 vector leptoquark models, recently put forward as an elegant solution to the hints of lepton flavor universality violation in B-meson decays. It is shown that in minimal gauge models containing the U-1 as a gauge boson, the Peccei-Quinn solution of the strong CP problem requires the introduction of two axions. Characteristic predictions for the associated axions can be deduced from the model parameter space hinted by B-physics, allowing the new axion sector to account for the dark matter of the Universe. We also provide a specific ultraviolet completion of the axion sector that connects the Peccei-Quinn mechanism to the generation of neutrino masses.

Abstract: Coupled dark matter-dark energy scenarios arc modeled via a dimensionless parameter xi, which controls the strength of their interaction. While this coupling is commonly assumed to be constant, there is no underlying physical law or symmetry that forbids a time-dependent xi parameter. The most general and complete interacting scenarios between the two dark sectors should therefore allow for such a possibility, and it is the main purpose of this study to constrain two possible and well-motivated coupled cosmologies by means of the most recent and accurate early- and late-time universe observations. We find that CMB data alone prefer xi(z) > 0 and therefore a smaller amount of dark matter, alleviating some crucial and well-known cosmological data tensions. An objective assessment of the Bayesian evidence for the coupled models explored here shows no particular preference for the presence of a dynamical dark sector coupling.
