T2K Collaboration(Abe, K. et al), Antonova, M., Cervera-Villanueva, A., Fernandez, P., Izmaylov, A., & Novella, P. (2020). First combined measurement of the muon neutrino and antineutrino charged-current cross section without pions in the final state at T2K. Phys. Rev. D, 101(11), 112001–44pp.
Abstract: This paper presents the first combined measurement of the double-differential muon neutrino and antineutrino charged-current cross sections with no pions in the final state on hydrocarbon at the off-axis near detector of the T2K experiment. The data analyzed in this work comprise 5.8 x 10(20) and 6.3 x 10(20) protons on target in neutrino and antineutrino mode respectively, at a beam energy peak of 0.6 GeV. Using the two measured cross sections, the sum, difference, and asymmetry were calculated with the aim of better understanding the nuclear effects involved in such interactions. The extracted measurements have been compared with the prediction from different Monte Carlo generators and theoretical models showing that the difference between the two cross sections have interesting sensitivity to nuclear effects.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Garcia Martin, L. M., Henry, L., Jashal, B. K., Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., et al. (2020). Measurement of the branching fraction of the decay B-s(0) -> (KSKS0)-K-0. Phys. Rev. D, 102(1), 012011–15pp.
Abstract: A measurement of the branching fraction of the decay B-s(0) -> (KSKS0)-K-0 is performed using proton- proton – collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment between 2011 and 2016. The branching fraction is determined to be B(B-s(0) -> (KSKS0)-K-0) = [8.3 +/- 1.6(stat) +/- 0.9(syst) +/- 0.8(norm) +/- 0.3(f(s)/f(d))] x 10(-6), where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third and fourth are due to uncertainties on the branching fraction of the normalization mode B-0 -> phi K(S)(0 )and the ratio of hadronization fractions f(s)/f(d). This is the most precise measurement of this branching fraction to date. Furthermore, a measurement of the branching fraction of the decay B-s(0) -> (KSKS0)-K-0 is performed relative to that of the B-s(0) -> (KSKS0)-K-0 channel, and is found to be B(B-s(0) -> (KSKS0)-K-0)/B(B-s(0) -> (KSKS0)-K-0) = [7.5 +/- 3.1(stat) 0.5(syst) +/- 0.3(f(s)/f(d))1 x 10(-2).

Sakai, S., Oset, E., & Guo, F. K. (2020). Triangle singularity in the B-> K- pi X-0 (3872) reaction and sensitivity to the X(3872) mass. Phys. Rev. D, 101(5), 054030–10pp.
Abstract: We have done a study of the B--> K-pi X-0(3872) reaction by means of a triangle mechanism via the chain of reactions: B--> K-D*(0);(D) over bar*(0); D*(0)-> pi D-0(0); D-0(D) over bar*(0)-> X(3872). We show that this mechanism generates a triangle singularity in the pi X-0(3872) invariant mass for a very narrow window of the X(3872) mass, around the present measured values, and show that the peak positions and the shape of the mass distributions arc sensitive to the X(3872) mass, such that a measurement of the reaction can serve to improve on the present values of this mass. In particular, we point out that the X(3872) mass relative to the D-0(D) over bar*(0) threshold may be extracted from the asymmetry of the pi X-0 line shape.

Miranda, O. G., Papoulias, D. K., Tortola, M., & Valle, J. W. F. (2020). Probing new neutral gauge bosons with CE nu NS and neutrino-electron scattering. Phys. Rev. D, 101(7), 073005–13pp.
Abstract: The potential for probing extra neutral gauge boson mediators (Z') from low-energy measurements is comprehensively explored. Our study mainly focuses on Z' mediators present in string-inspired E-6 models and left-right symmetry. We estimate the sensitivities of coherent-elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CE nu NS) and neutrino-electron scattering experiments. Our results indicate that such low-energy high-intensity measurements can provide a valuable probe, complementary to high-energy collider searches and electroweak precision measurements.

Abstract: In this paper we explore possible extensions of interacting dark energy cosmologies, where dark energy and dark matter interact nongravitationally with one another. In particular, we focus on the neutrino sector, analyzing the effect of both neutrino masses and the effective number of neutrino species. We consider the Planck 2018 legacy release data combined with several other cosmological probes, finding no evidence for new physics in the dark radiation sector. The current neutrino constraints from cosmology should therefore be regarded as robust, as they are not strongly dependent on the dark sector physics, once all the available observations are combined. Namely, we find a total neutrino mass g, < 0.15 eV and a number of effective relativistic degrees of freedom N-eff = 3.03(-0.33)(+0.33), both at 95% C.L., which are close to those obtained within the ACDM cosmology, M-v < 0.12 eV and N-eff = (+0.36)(-0.35), for the same data combination.

Beltran-Palau, P., Navarro-Salas, J., & Pla, S. (2020). Adiabatic regularization for Dirac fields in time-varying electric backgrounds. Phys. Rev. D, 101(10), 105014–15pp.
Abstract: The adiabatic regularization method was originally proposed by Parker and Fulling to renormalize the energy-momentum tensor of scalar fields in expanding universes. It can be extended to renormalize the electric current induced by quantized scalar fields in a time-varying electric background. This can be done in a way consistent with gravity if the vector potential is considered as a variable of adiabatic order one. Assuming this, we further extend the method to deal with Dirac fields in four space-time dimensions. This requires a self-consistent ansatz for the adiabatic expansion, in presence of a prescribed time-dependent electric field, which is different from the conventional expansion used for scalar fields. Our proposal is consistent, in the massless limit, with the conformal anomaly. We also provide evidence that our proposed adiabatic expansion for the fermionic modes parallels the Schwinger-DeWitt adiabatic expansion of the two-point function. We give the renormalized expression of the electric current and analyze, using numerical and analytical tools, the pair production induced by a Sauter-type electric pulse. We also analyze the scaling properties of the current for a large field strength.

Segarra, A., & Bernabeu, J. (2020). Absolute neutrino mass and the Dirac/Majorana distinction from the weak interaction of aggregate matter. Phys. Rev. D, 101(9), 093004–6pp.
Abstract: The 2 nu-mediated force has a range of microns, well beyond the atomic scale. The effective potential is built from the t-channel absorptive part of the scattering amplitude and depends on neutrino properties on shell. We demonstrate that neutral aggregate matter has a weak charge and calculate the matrix of six coherent charges for its interaction with definite-mass neutrinos. Near the range of the potential the neutrino pair is nonrelativistic, leading to observable absolute mass and Dirac/Majorana distinction via different r-dependence and violation of the weak equivalence principle.

King, S. F., Molina Sedgwick, S., Parke, S. J., & Prouse, N. W. (2020). Effects of matter density profiles on neutrino oscillations for T2HK and T2HKK. Phys. Rev. D, 101(7), 076019–16pp.
Abstract: This paper explores the effects of changes in matter density profiles on neutrino oscillation probabilities, and whether these could potentially be seen by the future Hyper-Kamiokande long-baseline oscillation experiment (T2HK). The analysis is extended to include the possibility of having an additional detector in Korea (T2HKK). In both cases, we find that these effects will be immeasurable, as the magnitudes of the changes in the oscillation probabilities induced in all density profile scenarios considered here remain smaller than the estimated experimental sensitivity to the oscillation probabilities of each experiment, for both appearance and disappearance channels. Therefore, we conclude that using a constant density profile is sufficient for both the T2HK and T2HKK experiments.

Hirsch, M., & Wang, Z. S. (2020). Heavy neutral leptons at ANUBIS. Phys. Rev. D, 101(5), 055034–9pp.
Abstract: Recently Bauer et al. [arXiv:1909.13022] proposed ANUBIS, an auxiliary detector to be installed in one of the shafts above the ATLAS or CMS interaction point, as a tool to search for long-lived particles. Here, we study the sensitivity of this proposal for long-lived heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) in both minimal and extended scenarios. We start with the minimal HNL model where both production and decay of the HNLs are mediated by active-sterile neutrino mixing, before studying the case of right-handed neutrinos in a leftright symmetric model. We then consider a U(1)(B-L) extension of the Standard Model (SM). In this model HNLs are produced from the decays of the mostly SM-like Higgs boson, via mixing in the scalar sector of the theory. In all cases, we fmd that ANUBIS has sensitivity reach comparable to the proposed MATHUSLA detector. For the minimal HNL scenario, the contributions from W's decaying to HNLs are more important at ANUBIS than at MATHUSLA, extending the sensitivity to slightly larger HNL masses at ANUBIS.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Garcia Martin, L. M., Henry, L., Jashal, B. K., Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., et al. (2020). Measurement of |V-cb| with B-s(0) -> D-s(()*()-) mu(+)nu(mu) decays. Phys. Rev. D, 101(7), 072004–25pp.
Abstract: The element vertical bar V-cb vertical bar of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix is measured using semileptonic B-s(0) decays produced in proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). Rates of B-s0 -> D-s(-) mu(+)nu(mu) and B-s0 -> D-s*(-) mu(+)nu(mu) decays are analyzed using hadronic form-factor parametrizations derived either by Caprini, Lellouch and Neubert (CLN) or by Boyd, Grinstein and Lebed (BGL). The measured values of vertical bar V-cb vertical bar are (41.4 +/- 0.6 +/- 0.9 +/- 1.2) x 10(-3) and (42.3 +/- 0.8 +/- 0.9 +/- 1.2) x 10(-3) in the CLN and BGL parametrization, respectively. The first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third is due to the external inputs used in the measurement. These results are in agreement with those obtained from decays of B+ and B-0 mesons. They are the first determinations of vertical bar V-cb vertical bar at a hadron-collider experiment and the first using B-s(0) meson decays.
