Abstract: Here we propose a realistic SU(3)(c) circle times SU(3)(L) circle times U(1)(X) electroweak gauge model with enlarged Higgs sector. The scheme allows for the natural implementation of a type II seesaw mechanism for Dirac neutrinos, while charged lepton and quark masses are reproduced in a natural way thanks to the presence of new scalars. The new SU(3)(c) circle times SU(3)(L) circle times U(1)(X) energy scale characterizing neutrino mass generation could be accessible to the current LHC experiments.

Abstract: We propose a simple Delta (27) circle times Z(4) model where neutrinos are predicted to be Dirac fermions. The smallness of their masses follows from a type-I seesaw mechanism and the leptonic CP violating phase correlates with the pattern of Delta(27) flavor symmetry breaking. The scheme naturally harbors a WIMP dark matter candidate associated to the Dirac nature of neutrinos, in that the same Z(4) lepton number symmetry also ensures dark matter stability.

Abstract: We propose to relate dark matter stability to the possible Dirac nature of neutrinos. The idea is illustrated in a simple scheme where small Dirac neutrino masses arise from a type-I seesaw mechanism as a result of a Z(4) discrete lepton number symmetry. The latter implies the existence of a viable WIMP dark matter candidate, whose stability arises from the same symmetry which ensures the Diracness of neutrinos.

Abstract: We propose a simple model for Dirac neutrinos where the smallness of neutrino mass follows from a parameter kappa whose absence enhances the symmetry of the theory. Symmetry breaking is performed in a two-doublet Higgs sector supplemented by a gauge singlet scalar, realizing an accidental global U(1) symmetry. Its spontaneous breaking at the few TeV scale leads to a physical Nambu -Goldstone – boson the Diracon, denoted D – which is restricted by astrophysics and induces invisible Higgs decays such as h -> DD. The scheme provides a rich, yet very simple scenario for symmetry breaking studies at colliders such as the LHC.

Abstract: Non-unitary neutrino mixing implies an extra CP violating phase that can fake the leptonic Dirac CP phase delta(CP) of the simplest three-neutrino mixing benchmark scheme. This would hinder the possibility of probing for CP violation in accelerator-type experiments. We take T2K and T2HK as examples to demonstrate the degeneracy between the “standard” (or “unitary”) and “nonunitary” CP phases. We find, under the assumption of nonunitary mixing, that their CP sensitivities severely deteriorate. Fortunately, the TNT2K proposal of supplementing T2(H)K with a μDAR source for better measurement of delta(CP) can partially break the CP degeneracy by probing both cos delta(CP) and sin delta(CP) dependences in the wide spectrum of the μDAR flux. We also show that the further addition of a near detector to the μDAR setup can eliminate the degeneracy completely.
