Title U(1)(B3-3L2) gauge symmetry as a simple description of b -> s anomalies Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 98 Issue 9 Pages 095002 - 11pp
  Keywords
Abstract We present a simple U(1)(B3-3L2) gauge standard model extension that can easily account for the anomalies in R(K) and R(K*) reported by LHCb. The model is economical in its setup and particle content. Among the standard model fermions, only the third generation quark family and the second generation leptons transform nontrivially under the new U(1)(B3-3L2) symmetry. This leads to lepton nonuniversality and flavor changing neutral currents involving the second and third quark families. We discuss the relevant experimental constraints and some implications.

  Title Towards gauge coupling unification in left-right symmetric SU(3)(c) x SU(3)(L) x SU(3)(R) x U(1)(X) theories Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 96 Issue 1 Pages 015004 - 9pp
  Keywords
Abstract We consider the possibility of gauge coupling unification within the simplest realizations of the SU(3)(c) x SU(3)(L) x SU(3)(R) xU(1)(X) gauge theory. We present a first exploration of the renormalization group equations governing the “bottom-up” evolution of the gauge couplings in a generic model with free normalization for the generators. Interestingly, we find that for a SU(3)(c) x SU(3)(L) x SU(3)(R) x U(1)(X) symmetry breaking scale M-X as low as a few TeV one can achieve unification in the presence of leptonic octets. We briefly comment on possible grand unified theory frameworks which can embed the SU(3)(c) x SU(3)(L) x SU(3)(R) xU(1)(X) model as well as possible implications, such as lepton flavor violating physics at the LHC.

Title Resolving the atmospheric octant by an improved measurement of the reactor angle Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 96 Issue 1 Pages 011303 - 6pp
  Keywords
Abstract Taking into account the current global information on neutrino oscillation parameters we forecast the capabilities of future long-baseline experiments such as DUNE and T2HK in settling the atmospheric octant puzzle. We find that a good measurement of the reactor angle theta(13) plays a key role in fixing the octant of the atmospheric angle theta(23) with such future accelerator neutrino studies.

Title Probing light sterile neutrino signatures at reactor and Spallation Neutron Source neutrino experiments Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 96 Issue 6 Pages 063013 - 12pp
  Keywords
Abstract We investigate the impact of a fourth sterile neutrino at reactor and Spallation Neutron Source neutrino detectors. Specifically, we explore the discovery potential of the TEXONO and COHERENT experiments to subleading sterile neutrino effects through the measurement of the coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering event rate. Our dedicated chi(2)-sensitivity analysis employs realistic nuclear structure calculations adequate for high purity sub-keV threshold Germanium detectors.

Title Probing atmospheric mixing and leptonic CP violation in current and future long baseline oscillation experiments Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 771 Issue Pages 524-531
  Keywords
Abstract We perform realistic simulations of the current and future long baseline experiments such as T2K, NOvA, DUNE and T2HK in order to determine their ultimate potential in probing neutrino oscillation parameters. We quantify the potential of these experiments to underpin the octant of the atmospheric angle 023 as well as the value and sign of the CP phase delta(CP) We do this both in general, as well as within the predictive framework of a previously proposed [1] benchmark theory of neutrino oscillations which tightly correlates theta(23) and delta(CP).
