Title Higgs boson CP-properties of the gluonic contributions in Higgs plus three jet production via gluon fusion at the LHC Type Journal Article
Year 2014 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 10 Issue 10 Pages 173 - 16pp
Keywords QCD Phenomenology; Monte Carlo Simulations
Abstract in high energy hadronic collisions, a general CP-violating Higgs boson Phi with accompanying jets can be efficiently produced via gluon fusion, which is mediated by heavy quark loops. In this article, we study the dominant sub-channel gg -> ggg Phi of the gluon fusion production process with triple real emission corrections at order alpha(5)(s). We go beyond the heavy top-quark approximation and include the full mass dependence of the top- and bottom-quark contributions. Furthermore, in a specific model we demonstrate the features of our program and show the impact of bottom-quark loop contributions in combination with large values of tan beta on differential distributions sensitive to CP-rneasurements of the Higgs boson.

Title The isotropic radio background revisited Type Journal Article
Year 2014 Publication Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics Abbreviated Journal J. Cosmol. Astropart. Phys.
  Volume 04 Issue 4 Pages 008 - 36pp

Abstract We present an extensive analysis on the determination of the isotropic radio background. We consider six different radio maps, ranging from 22 MHz to 2.3 GHz and covering a large fraction of the sky. The large scale emission is modeled as a linear combination of an isotropic component plus the Galactic synchrotron radiation and thermal bremsstrahlung. Point-like and extended sources are either masked or accounted for by means of a template. We find a robust estimate of the isotropic radio background, with limited scatter among different Galactic models. The level of the isotropic background lies significantly above the contribution obtained by integrating the number counts of observed extragalactic sources. Since the isotropic component dominates at high latitudes, thus making the profile of the total emission flat, a Galactic origin for such excess appears unlikely. We conclude that, unless a systematic offset is present in the maps, and provided that our current understanding of the Galactic synchrotron emission is reasonable, extragalactic sources well below the current experimental threshold seem to account for the majority of the brightness of the extragalactic radio sky.

Abstract The production of , and mesons decaying into the dimuon final state is studied with the LHCb detector using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of collected in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of TeV. The differential production cross-sections times dimuon branching fractions are measured as functions of the transverse momentum and rapidity, over the ranges GeV/ and . The total cross-sections in this kinematic region, assuming unpolarised production, are measured to be sigma (pp -> Upsilon(1S)X) x B(Upsilon(1S) -> mu(+)mu(-)) = 1.111 +/- 0.043 +/- 0.044 nb, sigma (pp -> Upsilon(2S)X) x B(Upsilon(2S) -> mu(+)mu(-)) = 0.264 +/- 0.023 +/- 0.011 nb, sigma (pp -> Upsilon(3S)X) x B(Upsilon(3S) -> mu(+)mu(-))s = 0.159 +/- 0.020 +/- 0.007 nb, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

Title Searches for clustering in the time integrated skymap of the ANTARES neutrino telescope Type Journal Article
Year 2014 Publication Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics Abbreviated Journal J. Cosmol. Astropart. Phys.
  Volume 05 Issue 5 Pages 001 - 14pp
  Keywords neutrino astronomy; neutrino detectors
Abstract This paper reports a search for spatial clustering of the arrival directions of high energy muon neutrinos detected by the ANTARES neutrino telescope. An improved two-point correlation method is used to study the autocorrelation of 3058 neutrino candidate events as well as cross-correlations with other classes of astrophysical objects: sources of high energy gamma rays, massive black holes and nearby galaxies. No significant deviations from the isotropic distribution of arrival directions expected from atmospheric backgrounds are observed.

Title Search for Invisible Decays of a Higgs Boson Produced in Association with a Z Boson in ATLAS Type Journal Article
Year 2014 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 112 Issue 20 Pages 201802 - 19pp
  Keywords
Abstract A search for evidence of invisible-particle decay modes of a Higgs boson produced in association with a Z boson at the Large Hadron Collider is presented. No deviation from the standard model expectation is observed in 4.5 fb(-1) (20.3 fb(-1)) of 7 (8) TeV pp collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment. Assuming the standard model rate for ZH production, an upper limit of 75%, at the 95% confidence level is set on the branching ratio to invisible-particle decay modes of the Higgs boson at a mass of 125.5 GeV. The limit on the branching ratio is also interpreted in terms of an upper limit on the allowed dark matter-nucleon scattering cross section within a Higgs-portal dark matter scenario. Within the constraints of such a scenario, the results presented in this Letter provide the strongest available limits for low-mass dark matter candidates. Limits are also set on an additional neutral Higgs boson, in the mass range 110 < m(H) < 400 GeV, produced in association with a Z boson and decaying to invisible particles.
