Abstract |
In this addendum to Schwetz et al (2011 New J. Phys. 13 063004), we consider the recent results from long-baseline nu(mu) -> nu(e) searches at the Tokai to Kamioka (T2K) and Main Injector Neutrino Oscillation Search (MINOS) experiments and investigate their implications for the mixing angle theta(13) and the leptonic Dirac CP phase delta. By combining the 2.5 sigma indication for a nonzero value of theta(13) coming from the T2K data with global neutrino oscillation data, we obtain a significance for theta(13) > 0 of about 3 sigma with best fit points sin(2) theta(13) = 0.013 (0.016) for normal (inverted) neutrino mass ordering. These results depend somewhat on assumptions concerning the analysis of reactor neutrino data. |

Abstract |
The rho rho N and rho rho Delta three-body systems have been studied within the framework of the fixed center approximation of Faddeev equation. The rho rho interaction in isospin I = 0, spin S = 2 is strongly attractive, and so are the N rho, Delta rho interactions. This leads to bound states of both rho rho N and rho rho Delta. We find peaks of the modulus squared of the scattering matrix around 2227 MeV for rho rho N, and 2372 MeV for rho rho Delta. Yet, the strength of the peak for the rho rho N amplitude is much smaller than for rho rho Delta, weakening the case for a rho rho N bound state, or a dominant rho rho N component. A discussion is made on how these states can be searched for in present programs looking for multimeson final states in different reactions. |

Abstract |
The ATLAS detector at the LHC is used to search for high-mass states, such as heavy charged gauge bosons (W '), decaying to a charged lepton (electron or muon) and a neutrino. Results are presented based on the analysis of pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.04 fb(-1). No excess above Standard Model expectations is observed. A W ' with Sequential Standard Model couplings is excluded at the 95% confidence level for masses up to 2.15 TeV. |

Abstract |
A measurement of the cross-section for gamma(1S) -> mu(+)mu(-) production in proton-proton collisions at centre of mass energy of 7 TeV is presented. The cross-section is measured as a function of the gamma(1S) transverse momentum in two bins of rapidity, vertical bar y(gamma(1S))vertical bar < 1.2 and 1.2 < vertical bar y(gamma(1S))vertical bar < 2.4. The measurement requires that both muons have transverse momentum p(T)(mu) > 4 GeV and pseuclorapidity vertical bar eta(mu)vertical bar < 2.5 in order to reduce theoretical uncertainties on the acceptance, which depend on the poorly known polarisation. The results are based on an integrated luminosity of 1.13 pb(-1), collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The cross-section measurement is compared to theoretical predictions: it agrees to within a factor of two with a prediction based on the NRQCD model including colour-singlet and colour-octet matrix elements as implemented in PYTHIA while it disagrees by up to a factor of ten with the next-to-leading order prediction based on the colour-singlet model. |

Abstract |
This Letter presents a search for high mass e(+)e(-) or mu(+)mu(-) resonances in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV at the LHC. The data were recorded by the ATLAS experiment during 2010 and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of similar to 40 pb(-1). No statistically significant excess above the Standard Model expectation is observed in the search region of dilepton invariant mass above 110 GeV. Upper limits at the 95% confidence level are set on the cross section times branching ratio of Z' resonances decaying to dielectrons and dimuons as a function of the resonance mass. A lower mass limit of 1.048 TeV on the Sequential Standard Model Z' boson is derived, as well as mass limits on Z* and E(6)-motivated Z' models. |
