Abstract |
We analyze theoretically the D+ ye+ pK and D+ pe+ K*7 decays to see the feasibility to check the double pole nature of the axial -vector resonance Kt(1270) predicted by the unitary extensions of chiral perturbation theory (UChPT). Indeed, within UChPT the K1(1270) is dynamically generated from the interaction of a vector and a pseudoscalar meson, and two poles are obtained for the quantum numbers of this resonance. The lower mass pole couples dominantly to 10 and the higher mass pole to pK, therefore we can expect that different reactions weighing differently these channels in the production mechanisms enhance one or the other pole. We show that the different final V P channels in D pe+ V P weigh differently both poles, and this is reflected in the shape of the final vector-pseudoscalar invariant mass distributions. Therefore, we conclude that these decays are suitable to distinguish experimentally the predicted double pole of the Kt(1270) resonance. |

Abstract |
We have studied the contribution of the state X(3930), coming from the interaction of the D ($) over bar and D-s(+) D ($) over bar (s) channels, to the B- -> K- J/psi omega decay. The purpose of this work is to offer a complementary tool to see if the X(3930) state observed in the D+ D- channel is the same or not as the X(3960) resonance claimed by the LHCb Collaboration from a peak in the D-s(+) D s mass distribution around threshold. We present results for what we expect in the J/psi omega mass distribution in the B- -> K- J/psi omega decay and conclude that a clear signal should be seen around 3930 MeV. At the same time, finding no extra resonance signal at 3960 MeV would be a clear indication that there is not a new state at 3960 MeV, supporting the hypothesis that the near-threshold peaking structure peak in the D-s(+) D-s(-) mass distribution is only a manifestation of a resonance below threshold. |

Abstract |
Liquid argon time projection chamber detector technology provides high spatial and calorimetric resolutions on the charged particles traversing liquid argon. As a result, the technology has been used in a number of recent neutrino experiments, and is the technology of choice for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). In order to perform high precision measurements of neutrinos in the detector, final state particles need to be effectively identified, and their energy accurately reconstructed. This article proposes an algorithm based on a convolutional neural network to perform the classification of energy deposits and reconstructed particles as track-like or arising from electromagnetic cascades. Results from testing the algorithm on experimental data from ProtoDUNE-SP, a prototype of the DUNE far detector, are presented. The network identifies track- and shower-like particles, as well as Michel electrons, with high efficiency. The performance of the algorithm is consistent between experimental data and simulation. |

Abstract |
In this work, we report on the sensitivity potential of complementary muon-on-target experiments to new physics using a scalar boson benchmark model associated with charged lepton flavor violation. The NA64 μexperiment at CERN uses a 160-GeV energy muon beam with an active target to search for excess events with missing energy and momentum as a probe of new physics. At the same time, the proton beam at Fermilab, which is used to produce the neutrino beam for the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), will also produce a high-intensity muon beam dumped in an absorber. Combined with the liquid argon near detector, the system could be used to search for similar scalar boson particles with a lower-energy but higher-intensity beam. We find that both NA64 μand DUNE could cover new, unexplored parts of the parameter space of the same benchmarkmodel, providing a complementaryway to search for new physics. |

Abstract |
We study the semileptonic decay of B-c(-) meson into & Unknown;l(-) and the isospin zero X (3930) (2(++)), X(3940) (0(++)), X (4160) (2(++)) resonances. We look at the reaction from the perspective that these resonaces appear as dynamically generated from the vector-vector interaction in the charm sector, and couple strongly to D*& Unknown;D* and D-s*& Unknown;D-s*. We also look into the B-c(-) -> & Unknown;(l)l(-) D*& Unknown;* and B-c(-) -> & Unknown;(l)l(-) D-s*& Unknown;(s)* reactions close to threshold and relate the D*& Unknown;* and D-s*& Unknown;(s)* mass distribution to the rate of production of the X resonances. |
