Abstract |
Differential cross-sections are measured for the production of four charged leptons in association with two jets. These measurements are sensitive to final states in which the jets are produced via the strong interaction as well as to the purely-electroweak vector boson scattering process. The analysis is performed using proton-proton collision data collected by ATLAS at root s = 13TeV and with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb(-1). The data are corrected for the effects of detector inefficiency and resolution and are compared to stateof-the-art Monte Carlo event generator predictions. The differential cross-sections are used to search for anomalous weak-boson self-interactions that are induced by dimension-six and dimension-eight operators in Standard Model effective field theory. |

Abstract |
Dielectric Assist Accelerating (DAA) structures based on ultralow-loss ceramic are being studied as an alternative to conventional disk-loaded copper cavities. This accelerating structure consists of dielectric disks with irises arranged periodically in metallic structures working under the TM02-pi mode. In this paper, the numerical design of an S-band DAA structure for low beta particles, such as protons or carbon ions used for Hadrontherapy treatments, is shown. Four dielectric materials with different permittivity and loss tangent are studied as well as different particle velocities. Through optimization, a design that concentrates most of the RF power in the vacuum space near the beam axis is obtained, leading to a significant reduction of power loss on the metallic walls. This allows to fabricate cavities with an extremely high quality factor, over 100,000, and shunt impedance over 300 M omega/m at room temperature. During the numerical study, the design optimization has been improved by adjusting some of the cell parameters in order to both increase the shunt impedance and reduce the peak electric field in certain locations of the cavity, which can lead to instabilities in its normal functioning. |

Abstract |
The excited structure of the single-hole nucleus 131 Sn populated by the beta – decay of 131 In was investigated in detail at the ISOLDE facility at CERN. This new experiment took advantage of isomeric purification capabilities provided by resonant ionization, making it possible to independently study the decay of each isomer for the first time. The position of the first-excited nu h 11 / 2 neutron-hole state was confirmed via an independent mass spectroscopy experiment performed at the Ion Guide Isotope Separator On-Line facility at the University of Jyv & auml;skyl & auml;. The level scheme of 131 Sn was notably expanded with the addition of 31 new gamma-ray transitions and 22 new excited levels. The gamma-emitting excited levels above the neutron separation energy in 131 Sn were investigated, revealing a large number of states, which in some cases decay by transitions to other neutron-unbound states. Our analysis showed the dependence between the population of these states in 131 Sn and the beta-decaying 131 In state feeding them. Profiting from the isomer selectivity, it was possible to estimate the direct beta feeding to the 3/2+ / 2 + ground and 11/2- / 2 – isomeric states, disentangling the contributions from the three indium parent states. This made possible to resolve the discrepancies in log ft for first-forbidden transitions observed in previous studies, and to determine the beta-delayed neutron decay probability (Pn) P n ) values of each indium isomers independently. The first measurement of subnanosecond lifetimes in 131 Sn was performed in this work. A short T 1 / 2 = 18(4)-ps value was measured for the 1/2+ / 2 + neutron single-hole 332-keV state, which indicates an enhanced l-forbidden M 1 behavior for the nu 3 s – 1 1/2 / 2 -> nu 3 d – 13 / 2 transition. The measured half-lives of high-energy states populated in the beta decay of the (21/2+) / 2 + ) second isomeric state ( 131 m 2 In) provided valuable information on transition rates, supporting the interpretation of these levels as core-excited states analogous to those observed in the doubly-magic 132 Sn. |

Abstract |
NEXT -100 is currently being constructed at the Laboratorio Subterraneo de Canfranc in the Spanish Pyrenees and will search for neutrinoless double beta decay using a high-pressure gaseous time projection chamber (TPC) with 100 kg of xenon. Charge amplification is carried out via electroluminescence (EL) which is the process of accelerating electrons in a high electric field region causing secondary scintillation of the medium proportional to the initial charge. The NEXT -100 EL and cathode regions are made from tensioned hexagonal meshes of 1 m diameter. This paper describes the design, characterization, and installation of these parts for NEXT -100. Simulations of the electric field are performed to model the drift and amplification of ionization electrons produced in the detector under various EL region alignments and rotations. Measurements of the electrostatic breakdown voltage in air characterize performance under high voltage conditions and identify breakdown points. The electrostatic deflection of the mesh is quantified and fit to a first -pr inciples mechanical model. Measurements were performed with both a standalone test EL region and with the NEXT-100 EL region before its installation in the detector. Finally, we describe the parts as installed in NEXT-100, following their deployment in Summer 2023. |

Abstract |
Noble element time projection chambers are a leading technology for rare event detection in physics, such as for dark matter and neutrinoless double beta decay searches. Time projection chambers typically assign event position in the drift direction using the relative timing of prompt scintillation and delayed charge collection signals, allowing for reconstruction of an absolute position in the drift direction. In this paper, alternate methods for assigning event drift distance via quantification of electron diffusion in a pure high pressure xenon gas time projection chamber are explored. Data from the NEXT-White detector demonstrate the ability to achieve good position assignment accuracy for both high- and low-energy events. Using point-like energy deposits from Kr-83m calibration electron captures (E similar to 45 keV), the position of origin of low-energy events is determined to 2 cm precision with bias <1 mm. A convolutional neural network approach is then used to quantify diffusion for longer tracks (E >= 1.5 MeV), from radiogenic electrons, yielding a precision of 3 cm on the event barycenter. The precision achieved with these methods indicates the feasibility energy calibrations of better than 1% FWHM at Q(beta beta) in pure xenon, as well as the potential for event fiducialization in large future detectors using an alternate method that does not rely on primary scintillation. |

Abstract |
We propose a novel statistical method to extend Fermi-LAT catalogues of highlatitude -y-ray sources below their nominal threshold. To do so, we rely on the determination of the differential source -count distribution of sub -threshold sources which only provides the statistical flux distribution of faint sources. By simulating ensembles of synthetic skies, we assess quantitatively the likelihood for pixels in the sky with relatively low -test statistics to be due to sources, therefore complementing the source -count distribution with spatial information. Besides being useful to orient efforts towards multi -messenger and multi -wavelength identification of new -y-ray sources, we expect the results to be especially advantageous for statistical applications such as cross -correlation analyses. |

Abstract |
This study uses a nonsingular Yukawa-modified potential to obtain a static and spherically symmetric black hole solution with a cosmological constant. Such Yukawa-like corrections are encoded in two parameters, alpha and lambda, that modify Newton's law of gravity in large distances, and a deformation parameter l(0), which plays an essential role in short distances. The most significant effect is encoded in alpha, which modifies the total black hole mass with an extra mass proportional to alpha M, mimicking the dark matter effects at large distances from the black hole. On the other hand, the effect due to lambda is small for astrophysical values. We scrutinize the quasinormal frequencies and shadows associated with a spherically symmetric black hole and the thermodynamical behavior influenced by the Yukawa potential. In particular, the thermodynamics of this black hole displays a rich behavior, including possible phase transitions. We use the WKB method to probe the quasinormal modes of massless scalar, electromagnetic, and gravitational field perturbations. In order to check the influence of the parameters on the shadow radius, we consider astrophysical data to determine their values, incorporating information on an optically thin radiating and infalling gas surrounding a black hole to model the black hole shadow image. In particular, we consider Sgr A* black hole as an example and we find that its shadow radius changes by order of 10(-9), meaning that the shadow radius of a black hole with Yukawa potential practically gives rise to the same result encountered in the Schwarzschild black hole. Also, in the eikonal regime, using astrophysical data for Yukawa parameters, we show that the value of the real part of the QNMs frequencies changes by 10(-18). Such Yukawa-like corrections are, therefore, difficult to measure by observations of gravitational waves using the current technology. |

Abstract |
The Sun may capture asymmetric dark matter (DM), which can subsequently form bound-states through the radiative emission of a sub-GeV scalar. This process enables generation of scalars without requiring DM annihilation. In addition to DM capture on nucleons, the DM-scalar coupling responsible for bound-state formation also induces capture from self-scatterings of ambient DM particles with DM particles already captured, as well as with DM bound-states formed in-situ within the Sun. This scenario is studied in detail by solving Boltzmann equations numerically and analytically. In particular, we take into consideration that the DM self-capture rates require a treatment beyond the conventional Born approximation. We show that, thanks to DM scatterings on bound-states, the number of DM particles captured increases exponentially, leading to enhanced emission of relativistic scalars through bound-state formation, whose final decay products could be observable. We explore phenomenological signatures with the example that the scalar mediator decays to neutrinos. We find that the neutrino flux emitted can be comparable to atmospheric neutrino fluxes within the range of energies below one hundred MeV. Future facilities like Hyper-K, and direct DM detection experiments can further test such scenario. |

Abstract |
We study the D+ -> K- 0 pi (+) eta reaction where the a(0)(980) excitation plays a dominant role. We consider mechanisms of external and internal emission at the quark level, hadronize the qq components into two mesons and allow these mesons to undergo final state interaction where the a(0)(980) state is generated. While the a(0)(980) production is the dominant term, we also find other terms in the reaction that interfere with this production mode and, through interference with it, lead to a shape of the a(0)(980) significantly different from the one observed in other experiments, with an apparently much larger width. |

Abstract |
Momentum measurements for very high momentum charged particles, such as muons from electroweak vector boson decays, are particularly susceptible to charge-dependent curvature biases that arise from misalignments of tracking detectors. Low momentum charged particles used in alignment procedures have limited sensitivity to coherent displacements of such detectors, and therefore are unable to fully constrain these misalignments to the precision necessary for studies of electroweak physics. Additional approaches are therefore required to understand and correct for these effects. In this paper the curvature biases present at the LHCb detector are studied using the pseudomass method in proton-proton collision data recorded at centre of mass energy root s = 13 TeV during 2016, 2017 and 2018. The biases are determined using Z -> mu(+)mu(-) decays in intervals defined by the data-taking period, magnet polarity and muon direction. Correcting for these biases, which are typically at the 10(-4) GeV-1 level, improves the Z -> mu(+)mu(-) mass resolution by roughly 18% and eliminates several pathological trends in the kinematic-dependence of the mean dimuon invariant mass. |
