Title (down) Measurement of the Z boson production cross-section in pp collisions at √s=5.02 TeV Type Journal Article
Year 2024 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 02 Issue 2 Pages 070 - 38pp
Keywords Electroweak Interaction; Hadron-Hadron Scattering; QCD
Abstract The first measurement of the Z boson production cross-section at centre-of-mass energy v s = 5.02TeV in the forward region is reported, using pp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment in year 2017, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 100 +/- 2 pb-1. The production cross-section is measured for final-state muons in the pseudorapidity range 2.0 <. < 4.5 with transverse momentum pT > 20 GeV/c. The integrated cross-section is determined to be sZ.mu+mu- = 39.6 +/- 0.7(stat) +/- 0.6(syst) +/- 0.8(lumi) pb for the di-muon invariant mass in the range 60 < M μμ< 120 GeV/c2. This result and the differential cross-section results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions at next-to-next-to-leading order in the strong coupling constant. Based on a previous LHCb measurement of the Z boson production cross-section in pPb collisions at v sNN = 5.02TeV, the nuclear modification factor RpPb is measured for the first time at this energy. The measured values are 1.2+0.5 -0.3(stat) +/- 0.1(syst) in the forward region (1.53 < y* μ< 4.03) and 3.6+1.6 -0.9(stat)+/- 0.2(syst) in the backward region (-4.97 < y* μ< -2.47), where y* μrepresents the muon rapidity in the centre-of-mass frame.

Title (down) Measurement of the Y(nS) polarizations in pp collisions at root s=7 and 8 TeV Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 12 Issue 12 Pages 110 - 60pp
Keywords Hadron-Hadron scattering (experiments); Particle and resonance production; Polarization; QCD
Abstract The polarization of the (sic) (1S), (sic) (2S) and (sic) (3S) mesons, produced in pp collisions at centre-of-mass energies root s = 7 and 8TeV, is measured using data samples collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1 and 2 fb(-1), respectively. The measurements are performed in three polarization frames, using (sic) -> μμdecays in the kinematic region of the transverse momentum p(T)((sic)) < 30 GeV/c and rapidity 2.2 < y((sic)) < 4.5. No large polarization is observed.

Title (down) Measurement of the W boson mass Type Journal Article
Year 2022 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 01 Issue 1 Pages 036 - 38pp
Keywords Electroweak interaction; Hadron-Hadron scattering (experiments); QCD; Forward physics
Abstract The W boson mass is measured using proton-proton collision data at root s = 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.7fb(-1) recorded during 2016 by the LHCb experiment. With a simultaneous fit of the muon q/p(T) distribution of a sample of W ->mu y decays and the phi* distribution of a sample of Z -> μμdecays the W boson mass is determined to be m(W )= 80354 +/- 23(stat )+/- 10(exp) +/- 17(theory) +/- 9(PDF) MeV, where uncertainties correspond to contributions from statistical, experimental systematic, theoretical and parton distribution function sources. This is an average of results based on three recent global parton distribution function sets. The measurement agrees well with the prediction of the global electroweak fit and with previous measurements.

Title (down) Measurement of the Time-Integrated CP Asymmetry in D0 → K- K+ Decays Type Journal Article
Year 2023 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 131 Issue 9 Pages 091802 - 13pp
  Keywords
Abstract The time-integrated CP asymmetry in the Cabibbo suppressed decay PKK is measured using proton proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.7 th collected at a center of mass energy of 13 TeV with the LHCb detector. The D mesons are required to originate from promptly produced DD's decays, and the charge of the companion pion is used to determine the flavor of the charm meson at production. The time integrated CP asymmetry is measured to be Acr(KK) 6,815.41.6 x 10 where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The direct CP asymmetries in D-K-K and D -> decays, and are derived by combining Ace(KK) with the time integrated CP asymmetry differ ence, AAcr-Acr(KK)-A(x), and other inputs, giving a (7.715.7) x 10, (23.2 16.1) x 10, with a correlation coefficient corresponding to p=0.88. The compatibility of these results with CP symmetry is 1.4 and 3.8 standard deviations for DKK and D degrees-xx decays, respectively. This is the first evidence for direct CP violation in a specific Do decay.

  Title (down) Measurement of the time-integrated CP asymmetry in D (0) -> K (S) (0) K (S) (0) decays Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 11 Issue 11 Pages 048 - 19pp
Keywords Charm physics; CP violation; Flavor physics; Hadron-Hadron scattering (experiments)
Abstract A measurement of the time-integrated CP asymmetry in D (0) -> K (S) (0) K (S) (0) decays is reported. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of about 2 fb(-1) collected in 2015-2016 by the LHCb collaboration in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The D (0) candidate is required to originate from a D (*+) -> D (0) pi (+) decay, allowing the determination of the flavour of the D (0) meson using the pion charge. The D (0) -> K (+) K (-) decay, which has a well measured CP asymmetry, is used as a calibration channel. The CP asymmetryfor D (0) -> K (S) (0) K (S) (0) is measured to be where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This result is combined with the previous LHCb measurement at lower centre-of-mass energies to obtain A(CP) (D-0 -> K-S(0) K-S(0)) = (2.3 +/- 2.8 +/- 0.9)%.
