Title (down) Measurement of v(mu) and (v)over-bar(mu) induced neutral current single pi(0) production cross sections on mineral oil at E-v similar to O (1 GeV) Type Journal Article

Abstract MiniBooNE reports the first absolute cross sections for neutral current single pi(0) production on CH2 induced by neutrino and antineutrino interactions measured from the largest sets of NC pi(0) events collected to date. The principal result consists of differential cross sections measured as functions of pi(0) momentum and pi(0) angle averaged over the neutrino flux at MiniBooNE. We find total cross sections of (4.76 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.76(sys)) X 10(-40) cm(2)/nucleon at a mean energy of < E-v > = 808 MeV and (1.48 +/- 0.05(stat) +/- 0.23(sys)) X 10(-40) cm(2)/nucleon at a mean energy of < E-v > = 664 MeV for v(mu) and (v) over bar (mu) induced production, respectively. In addition, we have included measurements of the neutrino and antineutrino total cross sections for incoherent exclusive NC 1 pi(0) production corrected for the effects of final state interactions to compare to prior results.

Title (down) Measurement of the WW plus WZ Production Cross Section Using the lepton plus jets Final State at CDF II Type Journal Article
Year 2010 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 104 Issue 10 Pages 101801 - 8pp
  Keywords
Abstract We report two complementary measurements of the WW + WZ cross section in the final state consisting of an electron or muon, missing transverse energy, and jets, performed using p (p) over bar collision data at root s = 1.96 TeV collected by the CDF II detector. The first method uses the dijet invariant mass distribution while the second more sensitive method uses matrix-element calculations. The result from the second method has a signal significance of 5.4 sigma and is the first observation of WW + WZ production using this signature. Combining the results gives sigma(WW+WZ) = 16.0 +/- 3.3 pb, in agreement with the standard model prediction.

Title (down) Measurement of the WW plus WZ production cross section using a matrix element technique in lepton plus jets events Type Journal Article
Year 2010 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 82 Issue 11 Pages 112001 - 15pp
  Keywords
Abstract We present a measurement of the WW + WZ production cross section observed in a final state consisting of an identified electron or muon, two jets, and missing transverse energy. The measurement is carried out in a data sample corresponding to up to 4.6 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity at root s = 1.96 TeV collected by the CDF II detector. Matrix element calculations are used to separate the diboson signal from the large backgrounds. The WW + WZ cross section is measured to be 17.4 +/- 3.3 pb in agreement with standard model predictions. A fit to the dijet invariant mass spectrum yields a compatible cross section measurement.

Title (down) Measurement of the W+W- Production Cross Section and Search for Anomalous WW gamma and WWZ Couplings in p(p)over-bar Collisions at root s 1.96 TeV Type Journal Article
Year 2010 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 104 Issue 20 Pages 201801 - 8pp
  Keywords
Abstract This Letter describes the current most precise measurement of the W boson pair production cross section and most sensitive test of anomalous WW gamma and WWZ couplings in p (p) over bar collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV. The WW candidates are reconstructed from decays containing two charged leptons and two neutrinos. Using data collected by the CDF II detector from 3: 6 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity, a total of 654 candidate events are observed with an expected background of 320 +/- 47 events. The measured cross section is sigma(p (p) over bar -> W+W- +X) = 12.1 +/- 0.9(stat)(-1.4)(+1.6)(syst) pb, which is in good agreement with the standard model prediction. The same data sample is used to place constraints on anomalous WW gamma and WWZ couplings.

Keywords RADIOACTIVITY Zr-96(2 beta); measured E-beta,E- E-gamma, beta beta-, beta gamma-coin; deduced T-1/2 for 2 nu beta beta-decay, NEMO-3 detector
Abstract Using 9.4 g of Zr-96 isotope and 1221 days of data from the NEMO-3 detector corresponding (0 0.031 kg y, the obtained 2 nu beta beta decay half-life measurement is T-1/2(2 nu) = [2.35 +/- 0.14(stat) +/- 0.16(syst)] x 10(19) yr. Different characteristics of the final state electrons have been studied, such as the energy sum, individual electron energy, and angular distribution. The 2v nuclear matrix element is extracted using the measured 2 nu beta beta half-life and is M-2 nu = 0.049 +/- 0.002. Constraints on 0 nu beta beta decay have also been set.
