Abstract: The simplest linear seesaw mechanism can accommodate the new CDF-II W mass measurement. In addition to Standard Model particles, the model includes quasi-Dirac leptons, and a second, leptophilic, scalar doublet seeding small neutrino masses. Our proposal is consistent with electroweak precision tests, neutrino physics, rare decays and collider restrictions, requiring a new charged scalar below a few TeV, split in mass from the new degenerate scalar and pseudoscalar neutral Higgs bosons.

Abstract: The vacuum of the Standard Model is known to be unstable for the measured values of the top and Higgs masses. Here we show how vacuum stability can be achieved naturally if lepton number is violated spontaneously at the TeV scale. More precise Higgs measurements in the next LHC run should provide a crucial test of our symmetry breaking scenario. In addition, these schemes typically lead to enhanced rates for processes involving lepton flavor violation.

Abstract: We evaluate the radiative decay into a vector, a pseudoscalar and a photon of several resonances dynamically generated from the vector-vector interaction. The process proceeds via the decay of one of the vector components into a pseudoscalar and a photon, which have an invariant mass distribution very different from phase space as a consequence of the two vector structure of the resonances. Experimental work along these lines should provide useful information on the nature of these resonances.

Abstract: We have evaluated the decay modes of the Upsilon(4s), Upsilon(3d), Upsilon(5s), Upsilon(6s) states into B (B) over bar, B (B) over bar* + c.c., B* (B) over bar*, B-s(B) over bar (s), B-s(B) over bar (s)* + c.c., B-s* (B) over bar (s)* using the P-3(0) model to hadronize the bb vector seed, fitting some parameters to the data. We observe that the Upsilon(4s) state has an abnormally large amount of mesonmeson components in the wave function, while the other states are largely b (b) over bar. We predict branching ratios for the different decay channels which can be contrasted with experiment for the case of the Upsilon(5s) state. While globally the agreement is fair, we call the attention to some disagreement that could be a warning for the existence of more elaborate components in the state.

Abstract: We explore the upper bound on the tensor-to-scalar ratio r in supersymmetric (F-term) hybrid inflation models with the gauge symmetry breaking scale set equal to the value 2.86 . 10(16) GeV, as dictated by the unification of the MSSM gauge couplings. We employ a unique renormalizable superpotential and a quasi-canonical Kahler potential, and the scalar spectral index n(s) is required to lie within the two-sigma interval from the central value found by the Planck satellite. In a sizable region of the parameter space the potential along the inflationary trajectory is a monotonically increasing function of the inflaton, and for this case, r less than or similar to 2.9.10(-4), while the spectral index running, vertical bar dn(s)/d ln k vertical bar, can be as large as 0.01. Ignoring higher order terms which ensure the boundedness of the potential for large values of the inflaton, the upper bound on r is significantly larger, of order 0.01, for subplanckian values of the inflaton, and vertical bar dn(s)/dlnk vertical bar similar or equal to 0.006.
