Abstract |
We present a measurement of D-0-(D) over bar (0) mixing and CP violation using the ratio of lifetimes simultaneously extracted from a sample of D-0 mesons produced through the flavor-tagged process D*(+) -> D-0 pi(+), where D-0 decays to K+pi(+/-), K-K+, or pi(-)pi(+), along with the untagged decays D-0 -> K+pi(+/-) and D-0 -> K-K+. The lifetimes of the CP-even, Cabibbo-suppressed modes K-K+ and pi(-)pi(+) are compared to that of the CP-mixed mode K+pi(+/-) in order to measure y(CP) and Delta Y. We obtain y(CP) = [0.72 +/- 0.18(stat) +/- 0.12(syst)]% and Delta Y = [0.09 +/- 0.26(stat) +/- 0.06(syst)]%, where Delta Y constrains possible CP violation. The y(CP) result excludes the null mixing hypothesis at 3.3 sigma significance. This analysis is based on an integrated luminosity of 468 fb(-1) collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. |

Abstract |
We report a direct measurement of D-0-(D) over bar (0) mixing parameters through a time-dependent amplitude analysis of the Dalitz plots of D-0 -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-) and, for the first time, D-0 -> (KSK+K-)-K-0 decays. The low-momentum pion pi(+)(s) in the decay D*(+) -> D-0 pi(+)(s) identifies the flavor of the neutral D meson at its production. Using 468.5 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) colliding-beam data recorded near root s = 10.6 by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy collider at SLAC, we measure the mixing parameters x = [1.6 + 2.3(stat) +/- 1.2(syst) +/- 0.8(model)] X 10(-3), and y = [5.7 +/- 2.0(stat) +/- 1.3(syst) +/- 0.7(model)] X 10(-3). These results provide the best measurement to date of x and y. The knowledge of the value of x, in particular, is crucial for understanding the origin of mixing. |

Abstract |
The inclusive D-s(+/-) production asymmetry is measured in pp collisions collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of root s = 7 and 8 TeV. Promptly produced D-s(+/-) mesons are used, which decay as D-s(+/-) -> phi pi(+/-), with phi -> K+ K-. The measurement is performed in bins of transverse momentum, pT, and rapidity, y, covering the range 2.5 < pT < 25 : 0 GeV/c and 2.0 < y < 4.5. No kinematic dependence is observed. Evidence of nonzero D-s(+/-) production asymmetry is found with a significance of 3.3 standard deviations. |

Abstract |
The inclusive b (b) over bar- and c (c) over bar -dijet production cross-sections in the forward region of pp collisions are measured using a data sample collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV in 2016. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.6 fb(-1). Differential cross-sections are measured as a function of the transverse momentum and of the pseudorapidity of the leading jet, of the rapidity difference between the jets, and of the dijet invariant mass. A fiducial region for the measurement is defined by requiring that the two jets originating from the two b or c quarks are emitted with transverse momentum greater than 20 GeV/c, pseudorapidity in the range 2.2 < eta < 4.2, and with a difference in the azimuthal angle between the two jets greater than 1.5. The integrated b (b) over bar -dijet cross-section is measured to be 53.0 +/- 9.7 nb, and the total c (c) over bar -dijet cross-section is measured to be 73 +/- 16 nb. The ratio between c (c) over bar- and b (b) over bar -dijet cross-sections is also measured and found to be 1.37 +/- 0.27. The results are in agreement with theoretical predictions at next-to-leading order. |

Abstract |
The ratio of the B-s(0) and B+ fragmentation fractions f(s) and f(u) is studied with B-s(0) -> J/psi phi and B+ -> J/psi K+ decays using data collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at 7, 8, and 13 TeV center-of-mass energies. The analysis is performed in bins of B-meson momentum, longitudinal momentum, transverse momentum, pseudorapidity, and rapidity. The fragmentation-fraction ratio f(s)/f(u) is observed to depend on the B-meson transverse momentum with a significance of 6.0 sigma. This dependency is driven by the 13 TeV sample (8.7 sigma), while the results for the other collision energies are not significant when considered separately. Furthermore, the results show a 4.8 sigma evidence for an increase of f(s)/f(u) as a function of collision energy. |
