Title (down) Type II shell evolution in A=70 isobars from the N >= 40 island of inversion Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 765 Issue Pages 328-333
  Keywords
Abstract The level structures of Co-70 and Ni-70, populated from the Chi decay of Fe-70, have been investigated using beta-delayed gamma-ray spectroscopy following in-flight fission of a U-238 beam. The experimental results are compared to Monte-Carlo Shell-Model calculations including the pf + g(9/2) + d(5/2) orbitals. The strong population of a (1(+)) state at 274 keV in Co-70 is at variance with the expected excitation energy of 1 MeV from near spherical single-particle estimates. This observation indicates a dominance of prolate deformed intruder configurations in the low-lying levels, which coexist with the normal near spherical states. It is shown that the 13 decay of the neutron-rich A = 70 isobars from the new island of inversion to the Z = 28 closed-shell regime progresses in accordance with a newly reported type of shell evolution, the so-called Type II, which involves many particle-hole excitations across energy gaps.

Title (down) Two-pole structure of the D-0*(2400) Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 767 Issue Pages 465-469
  Keywords
Abstract The so far only known charmed non-strange scalar meson is dubbed as D-0(*)(2400) in the Review of Particle Physics. We show, within the framework of unitarized chiral perturbation theory, that there are in fact two (I = 1/2, J(P) = 0(+)) poles in the region of the D-0(*)( 2400) in the coupled-channel D pi, D eta and D-s (K) over bar scattering amplitudes. With all the parameters previously fixed, we predict the energy levels for the coupled-channel system in a finite volume, and find that they agree remarkably well with recent lattice QCD calculations. This successful description of the lattice data is regarded as a strong evidence for the two-pole structure of the D-0(*)( 2400). With the physical quark masses, the poles are located at (2105(-8)(+6) – i102(-12)(+10)) MeV and (2451(-26)(+36) – i134(-8)(+7)) MeV, with the largest couplings to the D pi and D-s (K) over bar channels, respectively. Since the higher pole is close to the D-s (K) over bar threshold, we expect it to show up as a threshold enhancement in the D-s (K) over bar invariant mass distribution. This could be checked by high-statistic data in future experiments. We also show that the lower pole belongs to the same SU(3) multiplet as the D-s0(*)(2317) state. Predictions for partners in the bottom sector are also given.

Title (down) Two-loop Dirac neutrino mass and WIMP dark matter Type Journal Article
Year 2016 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 762 Issue Pages 214-218
Keywords Neutrino masses and mixing; Dark matter stability
Abstract We propose a “scotogenic” mechanism relating small neutrino mass and cosmological dark matter. Neutrinos are Dirac fermions with masses arising only in two-loop order through the sector responsible for dark matter. Two triality symmetries ensure both dark matter stability and strict lepton number conservation at higher orders. A global spontaneously broken U(1) symmetry leads to a physical Diraconthat induces invisible Higgs decays which add up to the Higgs to dark matter mode. This enhances sensitivities to spin-independent WIMP dark matter search below m(h)/2.

Title (down) Two particle-hole excitations in charged current quasielastic antineutrino-nucleus scattering Type Journal Article
Year 2013 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 721 Issue 1-3 Pages 90-93
  Keywords
Abstract We evaluate the quasielastic and multinucleon contributions to the antineutrino-nucleus scattering cross section and compare our results with the recent MiniBooNE data. We use a local Fermi gas model that includes RPA correlations and gets the multinucleon part from a systematic many body expansion of the W boson selfenergy in the nuclear medium. The same model had been quite successful for the neutrino cross section and contains no new parameters. We have also analyzed the relevance of 2p2h events for the antineutrino energy reconstruction.

Title (down) Trimaximal neutrino mixing from scotogenic A(4) family symmetry Type Journal Article
Year 2021 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 815 Issue Pages 136122 - 13pp
  Keywords
Abstract We propose a flavor theory of leptons implementing an A(4) family symmetry. Our scheme provides a simple way to derive trimaximal neutrino mixing from first principles, leading to simple and testable predictions for neutrino mixing and CP violation. Dark matter mediates neutrino mass generation, as in the simplest scotogenic model.
