Title tau(-) -> nu tau M1 M2, with M1, M2 pseudoscalar or vector mesons Type Journal Article

Abstract .We perform a calculation of the -M1M2, with M1,M2 either pseudoscalar or vector mesons using the basic weak interaction and angular momentum algebra to relate the different processes. The formalism also leads to a different interpretation of the role played by G-parity in these decays. We also observe that, while PPp-wave production is compatible with chiral perturbation theory and experiment, VP and VVp-wave production is clearly incompatible with experiment and we develop the formalism also in this case, producing the VP or VV pairs in s-wave. We compare our results with experiment and other theoretical approaches for rates and invariant mass distributions and make predictions for unmeasured decays. We show the value of these reactions, particularly if the M1M2 mass distribution is measured, as a tool to learn about the meson-meson interaction and the nature of some resonances, coupling to two mesons, which are produced in such decays.

Title Triangle singularity in tau(-) -> nu(tau)pi(-) f(0)(980) (a(0)(980)) decays Type Journal Article

Abstract We study the triangle mechanism for the decay tau(-) -> nu(tau)pi(-) f(0)(980) with the f(0)(980) decaying into pi(+) pi(-). The mechanism for this process is initiated by tau(-) -> nu K-tau*(0) K- followed by the K*(0) decay into pi K--(+), then the K- K+ produce the f(0)(980) through a triangle loop containing K* K+ K- which develops a singularity around 1420 MeV in the pi f(0)(980) invariant mass. We find a narrow peak in the pi(+) pi(-) invariant mass distribution, which originates from the f(0)(980) amplitude. Similarly, we also study the triangle mechanism for the decay tau -> nu pi(-) a(0)(980), with the a(0)(980) decaying into pi(0)eta.The formalism leads to final branching ratios for pi(-) f(0)(980) and pi(-) a(0)(980) of the order of 4 x 10(-4) and 7 x 10(-5), respectively, which are within present measurable range. Experimental verification of these predictions will shed light on the nature of the scalar mesons and on the origin of the “a(1)(1420)” peak observed in other reactions.

Title Considerations on the Schmid theorem for triangle singularities Type Journal Article
Year 2019 Publication European Physical Journal C Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. C
Volume 79 Issue 1 Pages 69 - 13pp
Keywords
Abstract We investigate the Schmid theorem, which states that if one has a tree level mechanism with a particle decaying to two particles and one of them decaying posteriorly to two other particles, the possible triangle singularity developed by the mechanism of elastic rescattering of two of the three decay particles does not change the cross section provided by the tree level. We investigate the process in terms of the width of the unstable particle produced in the first decay and determine the limits of validity and violation of the theorem. One of the conclusions is that the theorem holds in the strict limit of zero width of that resonance, in which case the strength of the triangle diagram becomes negligible compared to the tree level. Another conclusion, on the practical side, is that for realistic values of the width, the triangle singularity can provide a strength comparable or even bigger than the tree level, which indicates that invoking the Schmid theorem to neglect the triangle diagram stemming from elastic rescattering of the tree level should not be done. Even then, we observe that the realistic case keeps some memory of the Schmid theorem, which is visible in a peculiar interference pattern with the tree level.

Title eta-He-4 interaction from the dd->eta He-4 reaction near threshold Type Journal Article
Year 2019 Publication European Physical Journal A Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. A
Volume 55 Issue 1 Pages 6 - 8pp
Keywords
Abstract .We analyze the data on the total cross sections for the dd4 He reaction close to threshold and look for possible 4 He bound states. We develop a framework in which the 4 He optical potential is the key ingredient, rather than parameterizing the scattering matrix, as is usually done. The strength of this potential, together with some production parameters, are fitted to the available experimental data. The relationship of the scattering matrix to the optical potential is established using the Bethe-Salpeter equation and the 4 He loop function incorporates the range of the interaction given by the experimental He-4 density. However, when we look for poles of the scattering matrix, we get poles in the bound region, poles in the positive energy region or no poles at all. If we further restrict the results with constraints from a theoretical model with all its uncertainties the bound states are not allowed. However, we find a bump structure in |T|2 of the 4 He 4 He scattering amplitude below threshold for the remaining solutions.

Title Polarization amplitudes in VP decay beyond the Standard Model Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication European Physical Journal A Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. A
Volume 54 Issue 12 Pages 219 - 10pp
Keywords
Abstract We study the amplitudes of the -VP decay for the different polarizations of the vector meson V, using a formalism where the mapping from the quark degrees of freedom to the meson ones is done with the P-3(0) model. We extend the formalism to a case, with the operator -5, that can account for different models beyond the Standard Model and study in detail the -K*0K- reaction for the different polarizations of the K*0. The results are shown in terms of the parameter that differs for each model. We find that is very different for each of the third components of the vector spin, M=+/- 1,0, and in particular the magnitude |M=-1 is very sensitive to the parameter, which makes the investigation of this magnitude very useful to test different models beyond the Standard Model.

Abstract We study the weak decay Omega(-)(b) -> (Xi(+)(c) K-)pi(-), in view of the narrow Omega(c) states recently measured by the LHCb Collaboration and later confirmed by the Belle Collaboration. The Omega(c) (3050) and Omega(c) (3090) are described as meson-baryon molecular states, using an extension of the local hidden gauge approach in coupled channels. We investigate the Xi D, Xi(c)(K) over bar, and. Xi '(c) (K) over bar invariant mass distributions making predictions that could be confronted with future experiments, providing useful information that could help determine the quantum numbers and nature of these states.

Abstract We use a recent formalism of the weak hadronic reactions that maps the transition matrix elements at the quark level into hadronic matrix elements, evaluated with an elaborate angular momentum algebra that allows finally to write the weak matrix elements in terms of easy analytical formulas. In particular they appear explicitly for the different spin third components of the vector mesons involved. We extend the formalism to a general case, with the operator parameter, which suggest to use this magnitude to test different models beyond the standard model. We show that our formalism implies the heavy quark limit and compare our results with calculations that include higher order corrections in heavy quark effective theory. We find very similar results for both approaches in normalized distributions, which are practically identical at the end point of M-inv((nu l)) = m(B) – m(D)*

Title Doubly charmed Xi(cc) molecular states from meson-baryon interaction Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
Volume 98 Issue 9 Pages 094017 - 11pp
Keywords
Abstract Stimulated by the new experimental LHCb findings associated with the Omega(c) states, some of which we have described in a previous work as being dynamically generated through meson-baryon interaction, we have extended this approach to make predictions for new Xi(cc) molecular states in the C = 2, S = 0, and I = 1/2 sector. These states manifest themselves as poles in the solution of the Bethe-Salpeter equation in coupled channels. The kernels of this equation were obtained using general Lagrangians coming from the hidden local gauge symmetry or massive Yang-Mills theory, and the interactions are dominated by the exchange of light vector mesons. The extension of this approach to the heavy sector stems from the realization that the dominant interaction corresponds to having the heavy quarks as spectators, which implies the preservation of the heavy quark symmetry. As a result, we get several states: three states from the pseudoscalar meson-baryon interaction with J(P) = 1/2(-), and masses around 3840, 4080 and 4090 MeV, and two at 3920 and 4150 MeV for J(P) = 3/2(-). Furthermore, from the vector meson-baryon interaction we get three states degenerate with J(P) 1/2(-) and 3/2(-) from 4220 MeV to 4290 MeV, and two more states around 4280 and 4370 MeV, degenerate with J(P) = 1/2(-), 3/2(-), and 5/2(-).

Title Coupled channels dynamics in the generation of the Omega (2012) resonance Type Journal Article

Abstract We look into the newly observed Omega (2012) state from the molecular perspective in which the resonance is generated from the (K) over bar Xi*, eta Omega and (K) over bar Xi channels. We find that this picture provides a natural explanation of the properties of the Omega (2012) state. We stress that the molecular nature of the resonance is revealed with a large coupling of the Omega (2012) to the (K) over bar Xi* channel, that can be observed in the Omega (2012) -> (K) over bar pi Xi decay which is incorporated automatically in our chiral unitary approach via the use of the spectral function of Xi* in the evaluation of the (K) over bar Xi* loop function.

Abstract In this talk I present the formalism we have used to analyze Lattice data on two meson systems by means of effective field theories. In particular I present the results obtained from a reanalysis of the lattice data on the KD(*()) systems, where the states D-s0*(2317) and D-s1*(2460) are found as bound states of KD and KD *, respectively. We confirm the presence of such states in the lattice data and determine the contribution of the KD channel in the wave function of D-s0*(2317) and that of KD* in the wave function of D-s1*(2460). Our findings indicate a large meson-meson component in the two cases.
