Abstract |
The action of the Schwinger mechanism in pure Yang-Mills theories endows gluons with an effective mass, and, at the same time, induces a measurable displacement to the Ward identity satisfied by the three-gluon vertex. In the present work we turn to Quantum Chromodynamics with two light quark flavors, and explore the appearance of this characteristic displacement at the level of the quark-gluon vertex. When the Schwinger mechanism is activated, this vertex acquires massless poles, whose momentum-dependent residues are determined by a set of coupled integral equations. The main effect of these residues is to displace the Ward identity obeyed by the pole-free part of the vertex, causing modifications to its form factors, and especially the one associated with the tree-level tensor. The comparison between the available lattice data for this form factor and the Ward identity prediction reveals a marked deviation, which is completely compatible with the theoretical expectation for the attendant residue. This analysis corroborates further the self-consistency of this mass-generating scenario in the general context of real-world strong interactions. |

Abstract |
The ATLAS EventIndex system comprises the catalogue of all events collected, processed or generated by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN LHC accelerator, and all associated software tools to collect, store and query this information. ATLAS records several billion particle interactions every year of operation, processes them for analysis and generates even larger simulated data samples; a global catalogue is needed to keep track of the location of each event record and be able to search and retrieve specific events for in-depth investigations. Each EventIndex record includes summary information on the event itself and the pointers to the files containing the full event. Most components of the EventIndex system are implemented using BigData free and open-source software. This paper describes the architectural choices and their evolution in time, as well as the past, current and foreseen future implementations of all EventIndex components. |

Abstract |
This work presents new three-dimensional traversable wormhole solutions sourced by the Casimir density and pressures related to the quantum vacuum fluctuations in Yang-Mills (Y-M) theory. We begin by analyzing the noninteracting Y-M Casimir wormholes, initially considering an arbitrary state parameter omega and determine a simple constant wormhole shape function. Next, we introduce a new methodology for deforming the state parameter to find well-behaved redshift functions. The wormhole can be interpreted as a legitimate Casimir wormhole with an expected average state parameter of omega = 2. Then, we investigate the wormhole curvature properties, energy conditions, and stability. Furthermore, we discover a novel family of traversable wormhole solutions sourced by the quantum vacuum fluctuations of interacting Yang-Mills fields with a more complex shape function. Deforming the effective state parameter similarly, we obtain well-behaved redshift functions and traversable wormhole solutions. Finally, we examine the energy conditions and stability of solutions in the interacting scenario and compare to the noninteracting case. |

Abstract |
We study the role of the Schwinger phase (SP) that appears in the propagator of a charged particle in the presence of a static and uniform magnetic field (B) over right arrow. We first note that this phase cannot be removed by a gauge transformation; far from this, we show that it plays an important role in the restoration of the symmetries of the system. Next, we analyze the effect of SPs in the one-loop corrections to charged pion and rho meson self-energies. To carry out this analysis we consider first a simple form for the meson-quark interactions, and then we study the pi(+) and rho(-) propagators within the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model, performing a numerical analysis of the B dependence of meson lowest energy states. For both pi(+) and rho(-) mesons, we compare the numerical results arising from the full calculation-in which SPs are included in the propagators, and meson wave functions correspond to states of definite Landau quantum number-and those obtained within alternative schemes in which SPs are neglected (or somehow eliminated) and meson states are described by plane waves of definite four-momentum. |

Abstract |
Measurements of CP asymmetry in charmless B -> PV decays are presented, where P and V denote a pseudoscalar and a vector meson, respectively. Five different B -> PV decays from four final states, B-+/- -> pi(+/-)pi(+) pi(-), B-+/- -> K-+/-pi(+) pi(-), B-+/-->(KK+K-)-K-+/- and B-+/- -> pi(K+K-)-K-+/- are analyzed. The measurements are based on a method that does not require full amplitude analyses, and are performed using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by LHCb between 2015 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.9 fb(-1). In the pi(+) pi(-) P-wave, in the region dominated by the B-+/- -> rho(770)K-0(+/-) decay, a CP asymmetry of A(CP) = +0.150 +/- 0.019 +/- 0.011 is measured, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This is the first observation of CP violation in this process. For the other four decay channels, in regions dominated by the B-+/- -> rho(770)(0)pi(+/-), B-+/- -> K(-)*(892)(0) pi(+/-), B-+/- -> K(-)* (892)K-+/- and B-+/- -> (sic)(1020) K-+/- decays, CP asymmetries in the P-wave compatible with zero are measured. |
