Measurements of inclusive and differential fiducial cross-sections of t(t)over-bar gamma production in leptonic final states at root s=13 TeV in ATLAS. Eur. Phys. J. C, 79(5), 382–41pp.
Abstract: Inclusive and differential cross-sections for the production of a top-quark pair in association with a photon are measured with proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1fb-1, collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC in 2015 and 2016 at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV. The measurements are performed in single-lepton and dilepton final states in a fiducial volume. Events with exactly one photon, one or two leptons, a channel-dependent minimum number of jets, and at least one b-jet are selected. Neural network algorithms are used to separate the signal from the backgrounds. The fiducial cross-sections are measured to be 521 +/- 9(stat.)+/- 41(sys.)fb and 69 +/- 3(stat.)+/- 4(sys.) fb for the single-lepton and dilepton channels, respectively. The differential cross-sections are measured as a function of photon transverse momentum, photon absolute pseudorapidity, and angular distance between the photon and its closest lepton in both channels, as well as azimuthal opening angle and absolute pseudorapidity difference between the two leptons in the dilepton channel. All measurements are in agreement with the theoretical predictions.

Barenboim, G., Ternes, C. A., & Tortola, M. (2019). New physics vs new paradigms: distinguishing CPT violation from NSI. Eur. Phys. J. C, 79(5), 390–7pp.
Abstract: Our way of describing Nature is based on local relativistic quantum field theories, and then CPT symmetry, a natural consequence of Lorentz invariance, locality and hermiticity of the Hamiltonian, is one of the few if not the only prediction that all of them share. Therefore, testing CPT invariance does not test a particular model but the whole paradigm. Current and future long baseline experiments will assess the status of CPT in the neutrino sector at an unprecedented level and thus its distinction from similar experimental signatures arising from non-standard interactions is imperative. Whether the whole paradigm is at stake or just the standard model of neutrinos crucially depends on that.

ATLAS Collaboration(Aaboud, M. et al), Alvarez Piqueras, D., Aparisi Pozo, J. A., Bailey, A. J., Barranco Navarro, L., Cabrera Urban, S., et al. (2019). Search for large missing transverse momentum in association with one top-quark in proton-proton collisions at s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector. J. High Energy Phys., 05(5), 041–50pp.
Abstract: This paper describes a search for events with one top-quark and large missing transverse momentum in the final state. Data collected during 2015 and 2016 by the ATLAS experiment from 13 TeV proton-proton collisions at the LHC corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb(-1) are used. Two channels are considered, depending on the leptonic or the hadronic decays of the W boson from the top quark. The obtained results are interpreted in the context of simplified models for dark-matter production and for the single production of a vector-like T quark. In the absence of significant deviations from the Standard Model background expectation, 95% confidence-level upper limits on the corresponding production cross-sections are obtained and these limits are translated into constraints on the parameter space of the models considered.

Abstract: An amplitude analysis of B-0 ((+-))(K+-) decays is performed in the two-body invariant mass regions 300 < m((+-)) < 1100 MeV/c(2), accounting for the (0), , f(0)(500), f(0)(980) and f(0)(1370) resonances, and 750 < m(K+-) < 1200 MeV/c(2), which is dominated by the K-*(892)(0) meson. The analysis uses 3 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The CP averages and asymmetries are measured for the magnitudes and phase differences of the con- tributing amplitudes. The CP-averaged longitudinal polarisation fractions of the vector-vector modes are found to be fK*0 = 0.164 +/- 0.015 +/- 0.022 and fK*0 = 0.68 +/- 0.17 +/- 0.16, and their CP asymmetries, AK*0 = -0.62 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.09 and AK*0 = -0.13 +/- 0.27 +/- 0.13, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

Krause, C., Pich, A., Rosell, I., Santos, J., & Sanz-Cillero, J. J. (2019). Colorful imprints of heavy states in the electroweak effective theory. J. High Energy Phys., 05(5), 092–51pp.
Abstract: We analyze heavy states from generic ultraviolet completions of the Standard Model in a model-independent way and investigate their implications on the low-energy couplings of the electroweak effective theory. We build a general effective Lagrangian, implementing the electroweak symmetry breaking SU(2)(L) circle times SU(2)(R) SU(2)(L+R) with a non-linear Nambu-Goldstone realization, which couples the known particles to the heavy states. We generalize the formalism developed in previous works [1, 2] to include colored resonances, both of bosonic and fermionic type. We study bosonic heavy states with J(P) = 0(+/-) and J(P) = 1(+/-), in singlet or triplet SU(2)(L+R) representations and in singlet or octet representations of SU(3)(C) , and fermionic resonances with that are electroweak doublets and QCD triplets or singlets. Integrating out the heavy scales, we determine the complete pattern of low-energy couplings at the lowest non-trivial order. Some specific types of (strongly- and weakly-coupled) ultraviolet completions are discussed to illustrate the generality of our approach and to make contact with current experimental searches.

Nieves, J., Pavao, R., & Sakai, S. (2019). Lambda(b) decays into Lambda cl(nu)over-barl and Lambda c*pi(-) [ Lambda(c)* = Lambda(c)( 2595) and Lambda(c)(2625)] and heavy quark spin symmetry. Eur. Phys. J. C, 79(5), 417–20pp.
Abstract: We study the implications for bc=c(2595) and c(2625)] decays that can be deduced from heavy quark spin symmetry (HQSS). Identifying the odd parity c(2595) and c(2625) resonances as HQSS partners, with total angular momentum-parity jqP=1- for the light degrees of freedom, we find that the ratios (bc(2595)-)/(bc(2625)-) and (bc(2595)) agree, within errors, with the experimental values given in the Review of Particle Physics. We discuss how future, and more precise, measurements of the above branching fractions could be used to shed light into the inner HQSS structure of the narrow c(2595) odd-parity resonance. Namely, we show that such studies would constrain the existence of a sizable jqP=0- component in its wave-function, and/or of a two-pole pattern, in analogy to the case of the similar (1405) resonance in the strange sector, as suggested by most of the approaches that describe the c(2595) as a hadron molecule. We also investigate the lepton flavor universality ratios R[c]=B( may be affected by a new source of potentially large systematic errors if there are two) poles.

Liang, W. H., Chen, H. X., Oset, E., & Wang, E. (2019). Triangle singularity in the J/psi -> K+K- f(0)(980)(a(0)(980)) decays. Eur. Phys. J. C, 79(5), 411–11pp.
Abstract: We study the J/psi -> K+K- f(0)(980)(a(0)(980)) reaction and find that the mechanism to produce this decay develops a triangle singularity around M-inv(K- f(0)/K- a(0)) approximate to 1515 MeV. The differential width d Gamma/dM(inv)(K- f(0)/K- a(0)) shows a rapid growth around the invariant mass being 1515 MeV as a consequence of the triangle singularity of this mechanism, which is directly tied to the nature of the f(0)(980) and a(0)(980) as dynamically generated resonances from the interaction of pseudoscalar mesons. The branching ratios obtained for the J/psi -> K+K- f(0)(980)(a(0)(980)) decays are of the order of 10(-5), accessible in present facilities, and we argue that their observation should provide relevant information concerning the nature of the low-lying scalar mesons.

Abstract: The performance of the Pulse-Shape Analysis (PSA) in AGATA HPGe detectors was investigated and improved employing a -ray source measurement based on e+e- annihilation radiation after decays of Na-22 by + decay. The first interaction positions of the two 511keV rays were determined and the connecting line of these two positions was compared to the known source position as a measure for the PSA performance. The position resolution and its dependence on the PSA parameters were investigated by varying most relevant input quantities: the charge carrier mobility of the holes, the response of the employed measuring electronics especially the preamplifier rise time. The relative statistical weight of charge signals and transient signals was scrutinized. The optimal distance metric of the grid-search algorithm and its impact on the position resolution were determined.

Barenboim, G., & Park, W. I. (2019). Spontaneous baryogenesis in spiral inflation. Eur. Phys. J. C, 79(6), 456–11pp.
Abstract: We examined the possibility of spontaneous baryogenesis driven by the inflaton in the scenario of spiral inflation, and found the parametric dependence of the late-time baryon number asymmetry. As a result, it is shown that, depending on the effective coupling of baryon/lepton number violating operators, it is possible to obtain the right amount of asymmetry even in the presence of a matter-domination era as long as such era is relatively short. In a part of the parameter space, the required expansion rate during inflation is close to the current upper-bound, and hence can be probed in the near future experiments.

NA62 Collaboration(Cortina Gil, E. et al), & Husek, T. (2019). Search for production of an invisible dark photon in (0) decays. J. High Energy Phys., 05(5), 182–20pp.
Abstract: The results of a search for (0) decays to a photon and an invisible massive dark photon at the NA62 experiment at the CERN SPS are reported. From a total of 4.12 x 10(8) tagged (0) mesons, no signal is observed. Assuming a kinetic-mixing interaction, limits are set on the dark photon coupling to the ordinary photon as a function of the dark photon mass, improving on previous searches in the mass range 60-110 MeV/c(2). The present results are interpreted in terms of an upper limit of the branching ratio of the electro-weak decay 0improving the current limit by more than three orders of magnitude.
