Abstract |
Evidence for the decays B-0 -> (D) over bar (0)phi and B-0 -> (D) over bar (*0) phi is reported with a significance of 3.6 sigma and 4.3 sigma, respectively. The analysis employs pp collision data at centre-of-mass energies root s = 7, 8 and 13TeV collected by the LHCb detector and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). The branching fractions are measured to be B(B-0 -> (D) over bar (0)phi) = (7.7 +/- 2.1 +/- 0.7 +/- 0.7) x 10(-7), B(B-0 -> (D) over bar (*0)phi) = (2.2 +/- 05 +/- 0.2 +/- 0.2) x 10(-6). In these results, the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third is related to the branching fraction of the B-0 -> (D) over bar K-0(+) K- decay, used for normalisation. By combining the branching fractions of the decays B-0 -> (D) over bar ((*)0)phi and B-0 -> (D) over bar ((*)0)omega, the omega-phi mixing angle delta is constrained to be tan(2)delta = (3.6 +/- 0.7 +/- 0.4) x 10(-3), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. An updated measurement of the branching fractions of the B-s(0) -> (D) over bar ((*)0).phi decays, which can be used to determine the CKM angle gamma, leads to B(B-s(0) -> (D) over bar (0)phi) = (2.30 +/- 0.10 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.20) x 10(-5), B(B-s(0) -> (D) over bar (*0)phi) = (3.17 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.17 +/- 0.27) x 10(-5). |

Abstract |
This paper reports the observation of the decays B-(s)(0) -> D-s1(2536)K--/+(+/-) using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). The branching fractions of these decays are measured relative to the normalisation channel B-0 -> (D) over bar (K+K-)-K-0. The D-s1(2536)(-) meson is reconstructed in the (D) over bar*(2007)K-0(-) decay channel and the products of branching fractions are measured to be B(B-s(0) -> D-s1(2536)K--/+(+/-)) x B(D-s1(2536)(-) -> D ($) over bar*(2007)K-0(-)) = (2.49 +/- 0.11 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.25 +/- 0.06) x 10(-5), B(B-0 -> D-s1(2536)K--/+(+/-) ) x B(D-s1(2536)(-) -> (D) over bar*(2007)K-0(-)) = (0.510 +/- 0.021 +/- 0.036 +/- 0.050) x 10(-5). The first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third arises from the uncertainty of the branching fraction of the B-0 -> (D) over bar (K+K-)-K-0 normalisation channel. The last uncertainty in the B-s(0) result is due to the limited knowledge of the fragmentation fraction ratio, f(s)/f(d). The significance for the B-s(0) and B-0 signals is larger than 10 sigma. The ratio of the helicity amplitudes which governs the angular distribution of the D-s1(2536)(-) -> (D) over bar*(2007)K-0(-) decay is determined from the data. The ratio of the S- and D-wave amplitudes is found to be 1.11 +/- 0.15 +/- 0.06 and the phase difference between them 0.70 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.04 rad, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. |

Abstract |
A search for physics beyond the Standard Model inducing periodic signals in the dielectron and diphoton invariant mass spectra is presented using 139 fb(-1) of root s = 13 TeV pp collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. Novel search techniques based on continuous wavelet transforms are used to infer the frequency of periodic signals from the invariant mass spectra and neural network classifiers are used to enhance the sensitivity to periodic resonances. In the absence of a signal, exclusion limits are placed at the 95% confidence level in the two-dimensional parameter space of the clockwork gravity model. Model-independent searches for deviations from the background-only hypothesis are also performed. |

Abstract |
Correlations of same-sign charged pions are analysed using proton-lead collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of 5.02TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.06 nb(-1). Bose-Einstein correlations are observed in the form of an enhancement of pair production for same-sign charged pions with a small four-momentum difference. The dependence of the correlation radius and the intercept parameter on the reconstructed charged-particle multiplicity is investigated. The measured correlation radii scale linearly with the cube root of the reconstructed charged-particle multiplicity, being compatible with predictions of hydrodynamic models on the collision system evolution. |

Abstract |
The CP asymmetries of seven B- decays to two charm mesons are measured using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1) of proton-proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment. Decays involving a D*(0) or D-s(*-) meson are analysed by reconstructing only the D-0 or D-s(-) decay products. This paper presents the first measurement of A(CP) (B- -> D-s(*-) D-0) and A(CP) (B- -> D-s(-) D*(0)), and the most precise measurement of the other five CP asymmetries. There is no evidence of CP violation in any of the analysed decays. Additionally, two ratios between branching fractions of selected decays are measured. |

Abstract |
In the context of the metric-affine Chern-Simons gravity endowed with projective invariance, we derive analytical solutions for torsion and nonmetricity in the homogeneous and isotropic cosmological case, described by a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric. We discuss in some details the general properties of the cosmological solutions in the presence of a perfect fluid, such as the dynamical stability and the emergence of big bounce points, and we examine the structure of some specific solutions reproducing de Sitter and power law behaviours for the scale factor. Then, we focus on first-order perturbations in the de Sitter scenario, and we study the propagation of gravitational waves in the adiabatic limit, looking at tensor and scalar polarizations. In particular, we find that metric tensor modes couple to torsion tensor components, leading to the appearance, as in the metric version of Chern-Simons gravity, of birefringence, characterized by different dispersion relations for the left and right circularized polarization states. As a result, the purely tensor part of torsion propagates like a wave, while nonmetricity decouples and behaves like a harmonic oscillator. Finally, we discuss scalar modes, outlining as they decay exponentially in time and do not propagate. |

Abstract |
In this work, a search for nuclearites of strange quark matter by using nine years of ANTARES data taken in the period 2009-2017 is presented. The passage through matter of these particles is simulated taking into account a detailed description of the detector response to nuclearites and of the data acquisition conditions. A down-going flux of cosmic nuclearites with Galactic velocities (beta = 10(-3)) was considered for this study. The mass threshold for detecting these particles at the detector level is 4 x 10(13) GeV/c(2). Upper limits on the nuclearite flux for masses up to 10(17) GeV/c(2) at the level of similar to 5 x 10(-17) cm(-2) s(-1) sr(-1) are obtained. These are the first upper limits on nuclearites established with a neutrino telescope and the most stringent ever set for Galactic velocities. |

Abstract |
Interacting dark energy models may play a crucial role in explaining several important observational issues in modern cosmology and also may provide a solution to current cosmological tensions. Since the phenomenology of the dark sector could be extremely rich, one should not restrict the interacting models to have a coupling parameter which is constant in cosmic time, rather allow for its dynamical behaviour, as it is common practice in the literature when dealing with other dark energy properties, as the dark energy equation of state. We present here a compendium of the current cosmological constraints on a large variety of interacting models, investigating scenarios where the coupling parameter of the interaction function and the dark energy equation of state can be either constant or dynamical. For the most general schemes, in which both the coupling parameter of the interaction function and the dark energy equation of state are dynamical, we find 95% CL evidence for a dark energy component at early times and slightly milder evidence for a dynamical dark coupling for the most complete observational data set exploited here, which includes CMB, BAO and Supernova Ia measurements. Interestingly, there are some cases where a dark energy component different from the cosmological constant case at early times together with a coupling different from zero today, can alleviate both the H-0 and S-8 tension for the full dataset combination considered here. Due to the energy exchange among the dark sectors, the current values of the matter energy density and of the clustering parameter sigma(8) are shifted from their ACDM-like values. This fact makes future surveys, especially those focused on weak lensing measurements, unique tools to test the nature and the couplings of the dark energy sector. (c) 2023 The Author(s). Abstract |
We describe nuclear effects in structure functions of nuclei in DIS by means of a multiplicative factor beta(A)(x) which differentiates the structure function of the bound nucleons from that of the free nucleons. Our analysis determines that beta(A)(x) establishes a relation between the quark-gluon dynamics expressed by the bound nucleon structure functions and the nuclear dynamics as described by the well-known semi-empirical Bethe-Weizsacker mass formula. This relation corroborates a connection between the underlying quark-gluon dynamics and the phenomenological nuclear dynamics. |

Abstract |
A thorough understanding of neutrino-nucleus scattering physics is crucial for the successful execution of the entire US neutrino physics program. Neutrino-nucleus interaction constitutes one of the biggest systematic uncertainties in neutrino experiments-both at intermediate energies affecting long-baseline deep underground neutrino experiment, as well as at low energies affecting coherent scattering neutrino program-and could well be the difference between achieving or missing discovery level precision. To this end, electron-nucleus scattering experiments provide vital information to test, assess and validate different nuclear models and event generators intended to test, assess and validate different nuclear models and event generators intended to be used in neutrino experiments. Similarly, for the low-energy neutrino program revolving around the coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) physics at stopped pion sources, such as at ORNL, the main source of uncertainty in the evaluation of the CEvNS cross section is driven by the underlying nuclear structure, embedded in the weak form factor, of the target nucleus. To this end, parity-violating electron scattering (PVES) experiments, utilizing polarized electron beams, provide vital model-independent information in determining weak form factors. This information is vital in achieving a percent level precision needed to disentangle new physics signals from the standard model expected CEvNS rate. In this white paper, we highlight connections between electron- and neutrino-nucleus scattering physics at energies ranging from 10 s of MeV to a few GeV, review the status of ongoing and planned electron scattering experiments, identify gaps, and lay out a path forward that benefits the neutrino community.
