Title Large muon (g-2) with TeV-scale SUSY masses for tan beta -> infinity Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 10 Issue 10 Pages 026 - 27pp
  Keywords (down) Supersymmetry Phenomenology
Abstract The muon anomalous magnetic moment a(mu) is investigated in the MSSM for tan beta -> infinity. This is an attractive example of radiative muon mass generation with completely different qualitative parameter dependence compared to the MSSM with the usual, finite tan beta. The observed, positive difference between the experimental and Standard Model values can only be explained if there are mass splittings, such that bino contributions dominate over wino ones. The two most promising cases are characterized either by large Higgsino mass μor by large left-handed smuon mass m(L). The required mass splittings and the resulting a(mu)(SUSY) are studied in detail. It is shown that the current discrepancy in a(mu) can be explained even in cases where all SUSY masses are at the TeV scale. The paper also presents useful analytical formulas, approximations for limiting cases, and benchmark points.

Title Forward production of Upsilon mesons in pp collisions at root s=7 and 8 TeV Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 11 Issue 11 Pages 103 - 34pp
Keywords (down) Spectroscopy; Quarkonium; Hadron-Hadron Scattering; QCD; Hard scattering
Abstract The production of Upsilon mesons in pp collisions at root s = 7 and 8 TeV is studied with the LHCb detector using data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb(-1) and 2 fb(-1) respectively. The production cross-sections and ratios of cross-sections are measured as functions of the meson transverse momentum p and rapidity y, for p < 30 GeV/c and 2.0 < y < 4.5.

Title Study of eta-eta ' mixing from measurement of B-(s)(0) -> J/psi eta((')) decay rates Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 01 Issue 1 Pages 024 - 24pp
Keywords (down) Spectroscopy; Hadron-Hadron Scattering; QCD; Branching fraction; B physics
Abstract A study of B and B-s(0) meson decays into J/psi eta and J/psi eta' final states is performed using a data set of proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, collected by the LCHb experiment and corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity. The decay B-0 -> J/psi eta' is observed for the first time. The following ratios of branching fractions are measured: B(B-0 -> J psi eta')/B(B-s(0) -> J psi eta') = (2.28 +/- 0.65 (stat) +/- 0.010 (syst) +/- 0.13 (f(s)/f(d)) x 10(-2) , B(B-0 -> J psi eta')/B(B-s(0) -> J psi eta') = (1.85 +/- 0.65 (stat) +/- 0.09 (syst) +/- 0.11 (f(s)/f(d)) x 10(-2) where the third uncertainty is related to the present knowledge of f(s)/f(d), the ratio between the probabilities for a b quark to form a B-s(0) or a B-0 meson. The branching fraction ratios are used to determine the parameters of eta-eta' meson mixing. In addition, the first evidence for the decay B-s(0) -> psi(2S)' is reported, and the relative branching fraction is measured, B(B-s(0) -> psi(2S)eta')/B(B-s(0) -> J psi eta') = (38.7 +/- 9.0 (stat) +/- 1.3 (syst) +/- 0.9(B)) x 10(-2), where the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of the branching fractions of J/psi and psi(2S) mesons.

Title Precise measurements of the properties of the B-1(5721)(0,+) and B-2*(5747)(0,+) states and observation of B-+,B-0 pi(-,+) mass structures Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 04 Issue 4 Pages 024 - 27pp
Keywords (down) Spectroscopy; Hadron-Hadron Scattering; QCD; B physics; Flavor physics
Abstract Invariant mass distributions of B (+) pi (-) and B (0) pi (+) combinations are investigated in order to study excited B mesons. The analysis is based on a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data, recorded by the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. Precise measurements of the masses and widths of the B (1)(5721)(0,+) and B (2)(5747)(0,+) states are reported. Clear enhancements, particularly prominent at high pion transverse momentum, are seen over background in the mass range 5850-6000 MeV in both B (+) pi (-) and B (0) pi (+) combinations. The structures are consistent with the presence of four excited B mesons, labelled B (J) (5840)(0,+) and B (J) (5960)(0,+), whose masses and widths are obtained under different hypotheses for their quantum numbers.

Title FlexibleSUSY-A spectrum generator generator for supersymmetric models Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Computer Physics Communications Abbreviated Journal Comput. Phys. Commun.
  Volume 190 Issue Pages 139-172
Keywords (down) Sparticle; Supersymmetry; Higgs; Renormalization group equations
Abstract We introduce FlexibleSUSY, a Mathematica and C++ package, which generates a fast, precise C++ spectrum generator for any SUSY model specified by the user. The generated code is designed with both speed and modularity in mind, making it easy to adapt and extend with new features. The model is specified by supplying the superpotential, gauge structure and particle content in a SARAH model file; specific boundary conditions e.g. at the GUT, weak or intermediate scales are defined in a separate FlexibleSUSY model file. From these model files, FlexibleSUSY generates C++ code for self-energies, tadpole corrections, renormalization group equations (RGEs) and electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) conditions and combines them with numerical routines for solving the RGEs and EWSB conditions simultaneously. The resulting spectrum generator is then able to solve for the spectrum of the model, including loop-corrected pole masses, consistent with user specified boundary conditions. The modular structure of the generated code allows for individual components to be replaced with an alternative if available. FlexibleSUSY has been carefully designed to grow as alternative solvers and calculators are added. Predefined models include the MSSM, NMSSM, E6SSM, USSM, R-symmetric models and models with right-handed neutrinos. Computer: Personal computer. Operating system: Tested on Linux 3.x, Mac OS X. Classification: 11.1, 11.6, 6.5. External routines: SARAH 4.0.4, Boost library, Eigen, LAPACK Nature of problem: Determining the mass spectrum and mixings for any supersymmetric model. The generated code must find simultaneous solutions to constraints which are specified at two or more different renormalization scales, which are connected by renormalization group equations forming a large set of coupled first-order differential equations. Solution method: Nested iterative algorithm and numerical minimization of the Higgs potential. Restrictions: The couplings must remain perturbative at all scales between the highest and the lowest boundary condition. FlexibleSUSY assumes that all couplings of the model are real (i.e. CP-conserving). Due to the modular nature of the generated code, adaption and extension to overcome restrictions in scope is quite straightforward. Running time: 0.06-0.2 seconds per parameter point.
