Title Antikaon-nucleon interaction and Lambda(1405) in chiral SU(3) dynamics Type Journal Article
Year 2016 Publication Nuclear Physics A Abbreviated Journal Nucl. Phys. A
  Volume 954 Issue Pages 41-57
Keywords (up) (K)over-barN interaction; Lambda(1405) resonance; Chiral SU(3) dynamics; pi Sigma spectrum; Compositeness
Abstract The properties of the Lambda(1405) resonance are key ingredients for determining the antikaon-nucleon interaction in strangeness nuclear physics, and the novel internal structure of the Lambda(1405) is of great interest in hadron physics, as a prototype case of a baryon that does not fit into the simple three-quark picture. We show that a quantitative description of the antikaon-nucleon interaction with the Lambda(1405) is achieved in the framework of chiral SU(3) dynamics, with the help of recent experimental progress. Further constraints on the (K) over barN subthreshold interaction are provided by analyzing pi Sigma spectra in various processes, such as the K(-)d -> pi Sigma n reaction and the Lambda(c) -> pi pi Sigma decay. The structure of the Lambda(1405) is found to be dominated by an antikaon-nucleon molecular configuration, based on its wavefunction derived from a realistic (K) over barN potential and the compositeness criteria from a model-independent weak-binding relation.

Title Heavy-quark spin symmetry for charmed and strange baryon resonances Type Journal Article
Year 2013 Publication Nuclear Physics A Abbreviated Journal Nucl. Phys. A
  Volume 914 Issue Pages 488-493
Keywords (up) Charm; Heavy-quark spin symmetry; Dynamically generated baryon resonances
Abstract We study charmed and strange odd-parity baryon resonances that are generated dynamically by a unitary baryon-meson coupled-channels model which incorporates heavy-quark spin symmetry. This is accomplished by extending the SU(3) Weinberg-Tomozawa chiral Lagrangian to SU(8) spin-flavor symmetry plus a suitable symmetry breaking. The model generates resonances with negative parity from the s-wave interaction of pseudoscalar and vector mesons with 1/2(+) and 3/2(+) baryons in all the isospin, spin, and strange sectors with one, two, and three charm units. Some of our results can be identified with experimental data from several facilities, such as the CLEO, Belle, or BaBar Collaborations, as well as with other theoretical models, whereas others do not have a straightforward identification and require the compilation of more data and also a refinement of the model.   Title Peripheral transverse densities of the baryon octet from chiral effective field theory and dispersion analysis Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Nuclear Physics A Abbreviated Journal Nucl. Phys. A
  Volume 964 Issue Pages 18-54
Keywords (up) Electromagnetic form factors; Chiral lagrangians; Dispersion relations; Hyperons; Charge distribution
Abstract The baryon electromagnetic form factors are expressed in terms of two-dimensional densities describing the distribution of charge and magnetization in transverse space at fixed light-front time. We calculate the transverse densities of the spin-1/2 flavor-octet baryons at peripheral distances b = O(M-pi(-1)) using methods of relativistic chiral effective field theory (chi EFT) and dispersion analysis. The densities are represented as dispersive integrals over the imaginary parts of the form factors in the timelike region (spectral functions). The isovector spectral functions on the two-pion cut t > 4 M-pi(2) are calculated using relativistic chi EFT including octet and decuplet baryons. The chi EFT calculations are extended into the rho meson mass region using an N / D method that incorporates the pion electromagnetic form factor data. The isoscalar spectral functions are modeled by vector meson poles. We compute the peripheral charge and magnetization densities in the octet baryon states, estimate the uncertainties, and determine the quark flavor decomposition. The approach can be extended to baryon form factors of other operators and the moments of generalized parton distributions.

Title The (K)over-barNN system revisited including absorption Type Journal Article
Year 2013 Publication Nuclear Physics A Abbreviated Journal Nucl. Phys. A
  Volume 914 Issue Pages 349-353
  Keywords (up) Few-body systems
Abstract We present the Fixed Center Approximation (FCA) to the Faddeev equations for the (K) over bar NN system with S = 0, including the charge exchange mechanisms in the (K) over bar rescattering. The system appears bound by about 35 MeV and the width, omitting two body absorption, is about 50 MeV. We also evaluate the (K) over bar absorption width in the bound (K) over bar NN system by employing the FCA to account for (K) over bar rescattering on the NN cluster. The width of the states found previously for S = 0 and S = 1 is found now to increase by about 30 MeV due to the (K) over bar NN absorption, to a total value of about 80 MeV.

Title Improved fixed center approximation of the Faddeev equations for the (K)over-bar N N system with S=0 Type Journal Article
Year 2012 Publication Nuclear Physics A Abbreviated Journal Nucl. Phys. A
  Volume 883 Issue Pages 57-68
Keywords (up) Fixed center approximation; (K)over-bar N N system
Abstract We extend the Fixed Center Approximation (FCA) to the Faddeev equations for the (K) over bar N N system with S = 0, including the charge exchange mechanisms in the (K) over bar rescattering which have been ignored in former works within the FCA. We obtain similar results to those found before, but the binding is reduced by 6 MeV. At the same time we also evaluate the explicit contribution the pi N Sigma intermediate state in the three body system and find that it produces and additional small decrease in the binding of about 3 MeV. The system appears bound by about 35 MeV and the width omitting two body absorption, is about 50 MeV.
