Title Neutrino oscillations from warped flavor symmetry: Predictions for long baseline experiments T2K, NOvA, and DUNE Type Journal Article

Abstract Here we study the pattern of neutrino oscillations emerging from a previously proposed warped standard model construction incorporating Delta(27) flavor symmetry [J. High Energy Phys. 01 (2016) 007]. In addition to a complete description of fermion masses, the model predicts the lepton mixing matrix in terms of two parameters. The good measurement of. theta(13) makes these two parameters tightly correlated, leading to an approximate one-parameter description of neutrino oscillations. We find secondary minima for the CP phase absent in the general unconstrained oscillation scenario and determine the fourfold degenerate sharp correlation between the physical CP phase delta(CP) and the atmospheric mixing angle. theta(23). This implies that maximal. theta(23) correlates with maximal leptonic CP violation. We perform a realistic estimate of the total neutrino and antineutrino event numbers expected at long baseline oscillation experiments T2K, NOvA, and the upcoming DUNE proposal. We show how an improved knowledge of the CP phase will probe the model in a significant way.

Abstract The processes e(+) e(-) -> (KsK +/-)-K-0 pi(-/+)pi(0) and e(+) e(-) -> K-s(0) K-+/-pi(-/+)eta are studied over a continuum of energies from threshold to 4 GeV with the initial-state photon radiation method. Using 454 fb(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II storage ring, the first measurements of the cross sections for these processes are obtained. The intermediate resonance structures from K-*0(K pi)(0), K*(892)(+/-)(K pi)(T),and (KsK +/-)-K-0 rho(-/+)are studied. The J/psi is observed in all of these channels, and corresponding branching fractions are measured.

Title Measurement of top quark pair differential cross sections in the dilepton channel in pp collisions at root s=7 and 8 TeV with ATLAS Type Journal Article
Year 2016 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 94 Issue (down) 9 Pages 092003 - 33pp

Abstract Measurements of normalized differential cross sections of top quark pair (t (t) over bar) production are presented as a function of the mass, the transverse momentum and the rapidity of the t (t) over bar system in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of root s = 7 and 8 TeV. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb(-1) at 7 TeV and 20.2 fb(-1) at 8 TeV, recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events with top quark pair signatures are selected in the dilepton final state, requiring exactly two charged leptons and at least two jets with at least one of the jets identified as likely to contain a b hadron. The measured distributions are corrected for detector effects and selection efficiency to cross sections at the parton level. The differential cross sections are compared with different Monte Carlo generators and theoretical calculations of t (t) over bar production. The results are consistent with the majority of predictions in a wide kinematic range.

Title Binding of the BD(D)over-bar and BDD systems Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 96 Issue (down) 9 Pages 094007 - 6pp
  Keywords
Abstract We study theoretically the BD (D) over bar and BDD systems to see if they allow for possible bound or resonant states. The three-body interaction is evaluated implementing the fixed center approximation to the Faddeev equations which considers the interaction of a D or (D) over bar particle with the components of a BD cluster, previously proved to form a bound state. We find an I(J(P)) = 1/2(0(-)) bound state for the BD (D) over bar system at an energy around 8925-8985 MeV within uncertainties, which would correspond to a bottom hidden-charm meson. In contrast, for the BDD system, which would be bottom double-charm and hence manifestly exotic, we have found hints of a bound state in the energy region 8935-8985 MeV, but the results are not stable under the uncertainties of the model, and we cannot assure, nor rule out, the possibility of a BDD three-body state.

Title Measurement of neutrino and antineutrino oscillations by the T2K experiment including a new additional sample of nu(e) interactions at the far detector Type Journal Article
Year 2017 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D

Abstract The T2K experiment reports an updated analysis of neutrino and antineutrino oscillations in appearance and disappearance channels. A sample of electron neutrino candidates at Super-Kamiokande in which a pion decay has been tagged is added to the four single-ring samples used in previous T2K oscillation analyses. Through combined analyses of these five samples, simultaneous measurements of four oscillation parameters, vertical bar Delta m(32)(2)vertical bar, sin(2) theta(23), sin(2) theta(13), and delta(CP) and of the mass ordering are made. A set of studies of simulated data indicates that the sensitivity to the oscillation parameters is not limited by neutrino interaction model uncertainty. Multiple oscillation analyses are performed, and frequentist and Bayesian intervals are presented for combinations of the oscillation parameters with and without the inclusion of reactor constraints on sin(2) theta(13). When combined with reactor measurements, the hypothesis of CP conservation (delta(CP) = 0 or pi) is excluded at 90% confidence level. The 90% confidence region for delta(CP) is [-2.95, -0.44] ([-1.47, -1.27]) for normal (inverted) ordering. The central values and 68% confidence intervals for the other oscillation parameters for normal (inverted) ordering are Delta m(32)(2) = 2.54 +/- 0.08(2.51 +/- 0.08) x 10(-3) eV(2)/c(4) and sin(2) theta(23) = 0.55(-0.09)(+0.005) (0.55(-0.08)(+0.05)), compatible with maximal mixing. In the Bayesian analysis, the data weakly prefer normal ordering (Bayes factor 3.7) and the upper octant for sin(2) theta(23) (Bayes factor 2.4).
