Abstract |
We provide a classification of generalized CP symmetries preserved by the neutrino mass matrix according to the number of zero entries in the associated transformation matrix. We determine the corresponding constrained form of the lepton mixing matrix, characterized by correlations between the mixing angles and the CP violating phases. We compare with the corresponding restrictions from current neutrino oscillation global fits and show that, in some cases, the Dirac CP phase characterizing oscillations is highly constrained. Implications for current and upcoming long baseline neutrino oscillation experiments T2K, NO nu A, and DUNE, as well as neutrinoless double beta decay experiments are discussed. We also study the cosmological implications of such schemes for leptogenesis. |

Abstract |
Here we propose a realistic SU(3)(c) circle times SU(3)(L) circle times U(1)(X) electroweak gauge model with enlarged Higgs sector. The scheme allows for the natural implementation of a type II seesaw mechanism for Dirac neutrinos, while charged lepton and quark masses are reproduced in a natural way thanks to the presence of new scalars. The new SU(3)(c) circle times SU(3)(L) circle times U(1)(X) energy scale characterizing neutrino mass generation could be accessible to the current LHC experiments. |

Abstract |
Non-unitary neutrino mixing implies an extra CP violating phase that can fake the leptonic Dirac CP phase delta(CP) of the simplest three-neutrino mixing benchmark scheme. This would hinder the possibility of probing for CP violation in accelerator-type experiments. We take T2K and T2HK as examples to demonstrate the degeneracy between the “standard” (or “unitary”) and “nonunitary” CP phases. We find, under the assumption of nonunitary mixing, that their CP sensitivities severely deteriorate. Fortunately, the TNT2K proposal of supplementing T2(H)K with a μDAR source for better measurement of delta(CP) can partially break the CP degeneracy by probing both cos delta(CP) and sin delta(CP) dependences in the wide spectrum of the μDAR flux. We also show that the further addition of a near detector to the μDAR setup can eliminate the degeneracy completely. |

Abstract |
In this paper, a follow-up of [S. C. Chulia, R. Srivastava, and J. W. F. Valle, Phys. Lett. B 781, 122 (2018)], we describe the many pathways to generate Dirac neutrino mass through dimension-six operators. By using only the standard model Higgs doublet in the external legs, one gets a unique operator 1/Lambda(2) (L) over bar (Phi) over bar (Phi) over bar Phi nu(R). In contrast, the presence of new scalars implies new possible field contractions, which greatly increase the number of possibilities. Here, we study in detail the simplest ones, involving SU(2)(L) singlets, doublets, and triplets. The extra symmetries needed to ensure the Dirac nature of neutrinos can also be responsible for stabilizing dark matter. |

Abstract |
We analyze the possible generalized CP symmetries admitted by the Tri-Bi-Maximal (TBM) neutrino mixing. Taking advantage of these symmetries we construct in a systematic way other variants of the standard TBM Ansatz. Depending on the type and number of generalized CP symmetries imposed, we get new mixing matrices, all of which related to the original TBM matrix. One of such revamped TBM variants is the recently discussed mixing matrix of arXiv:1806.03367. We also briefly discuss the phenomenological implications following from these mixing patterns. |

Abstract |
We investigate the stability of Higgs potential in inverse seesaw models. We derive the full two-loop RGEs of the relevant parameters, such as the quartic Higgs self-coupling, taking thresholds into account. We find that for relatively large Yukawa couplings the Higgs quartic self-coupling goes negative well below the Standard Model instability scale similar to 10(10) GeV. We show, however, that the “dynamical” inverse seesaw with spontaneous lepton number violation can lead to a completely consistent and stable Higgs vacuum up to the Planck scale. |

Abstract |
Building up on previous work we propose a Dark Matter (DM) model with gauged matter parity and dynamical gauge coupling unification, driven by the same physics responsible for scotogenic neutrino mass generation. Our construction is based on the extended gauge group SU(3)(c) circle times SU(3)(L) circle times U(1)(X) circle times U(1)(N), whose spontaneous breaking leaves a residual conserved matter parity, M-P, stabilizing the DM particle candidates of the model. The key role is played by Majorana SU(3) (L)-octet leptons, allowing the successful gauge coupling unification and a one-loop scotogenic neutrino mass generation. Theoretical consistency allows for a plethora of new particles at the less than or similar to O(10) TeV scale, hence accessible to future collider and low-energy experiments. |

Abstract |
In light of the recent R-K(*) data on neutral current flavor anomalies in B -> K-(*())l(+)l(-) decays, we reexamine their quantitative interpretation in terms of an extended 331 gauge theory framework. We achieve this by adding two extra lepton species with novel 331 charges, while ensuring that the model remains anomaly-free. In contrast to the canonical 331 models, the gauge charges of the first and second lepton families differ from each other, allowing lepton-flavor universality violation. We further expand the model by adding the neutral fermions required to provide an adequate description for small neutrino masses. |

Abstract |
We suggest a common origin for dark matter, neutrino mass and family symmetry within the orbifold theory proposed in [Phys. Lett. B 801, 135195 (2020); Phys. Rev. D 101, 116012 (2020)]. Flavor physics is described by an A(4) family symmetry that results naturally from compactification. Weakly interacting massive particle dark matter emerges from the first Kaluza-Klein excitation of the same scalar that drives family symmetry breaking and neutrino masses through the inverse seesaw mechanism. In addition to the “golden” quark-lepton mass relation and predictions for 0 nu beta beta decay, the model provides a good global description of all flavor observables. |

Abstract |
We show that a very simple solution to the strong CP problem naturally leads to Dirac neutrinos. Small effective neutrino masses emerge from a type-I Dirac seesaw mechanism. Neutrino mass limits probe the axion parameters in regions currently inaccessible to conventional searches. |
