Abstract The processes e(+) e(-) -> (KsK +/-)-K-0 pi(-/+)pi(0) and e(+) e(-) -> K-s(0) K-+/-pi(-/+)eta are studied over a continuum of energies from threshold to 4 GeV with the initial-state photon radiation method. Using 454 fb(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II storage ring, the first measurements of the cross sections for these processes are obtained. The intermediate resonance structures from K-*0(K pi)(0), K*(892)(+/-)(K pi)(T),and (KsK +/-)-K-0 rho(-/+)are studied. The J/psi is observed in all of these channels, and corresponding branching fractions are measured.

Title Measurement of the e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)pi(0)pi(0) cross section using initial-state radiation at BABAR Type Journal Article

Abstract The process e(+)e(-) -> pi(+)pi(-)2 pi(0)gamma is investigated by means of the initial-state radiation technique, where a photon is emitted from the incoming electron or positron. Using 454.3 fb(-1) of data collected around a centerof- mass energy of root s = 10.58 GeV by the BABAR experiment at SLAC, approximately 150000 signal events are obtained. The corresponding nonradiative cross section is measured with a relative uncertainty of 3.6% in the energy region around 1.5 GeV, surpassing all existing measurements in precision. Using this new result, the channel's contribution to the leading order hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon is calculated as (g(mu)(pi+ pi-2 pi 0) – 2)/2 = (17.9 +/- 0.1(stat) +/- 0.6(syst)) x 10(-10) in the energy range 0.85 GeV < ECM < 1.8 GeV. In the same energy range, the impact on the running of the fine-structure constant at the Z(0)-pole is determined as Delta alpha(pi+ pi-2 pi 0) (M-Z(2)) = (4.44 +/- 0.02(stat) +/- 0.14(syst)) x 10(-4). Furthermore, intermediate resonances are studied and especially the cross section of the process e(+)e(-) -> omega pi(0) -> pi(+)pi(-)2 pi(0) is measured.

Title Search for the rare decay Lambda(+)(c) -> p mu(+ )mu(-) Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
Volume 97 Issue (down) 9 Pages 091101 - 10pp
Keywords
Abstract A search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decay Lambda(+)(c) -> p mu(+)mu(-) is reported using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb Collaboration. No significant signal is observed outside of the dimuon mass regions around the phi and omega resonances, and an upper limit is placed on the branching fraction of B(Lambda(+ )(c)-> p mu(+)mu(-)) < 7.7(9.6) x 10(-8) at 90%(95%) confidence level. A significant signal is observed in the omega dimuon mass region for the first time.

Title Measurement of Angular and CP Asymmetries in D-0 -> pi(+) pi(-) mu(+) mu(-) and D-0 -> K+ K- mu(+) mu(-) Decays Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
Volume 121 Issue (down) 9 Pages 091801 - 10pp
Keywords
Abstract The first measurements of the forward-backward asymmetry of the dimuon pair (A(FB)), the triple-product asymmetry (A(2 phi)), and the charge-parity-conjugation asymmetry (A(CP)), in D-0 -> pi(+) pi(-) mu(+) mu(-) and -> D-0 -> K+ K- mu(+) mu(-) decays are reported. They are performed using data from proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb experiment from 2011 to 2016, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 5 fb(-1). The asymmetries are measured to be A(FB) (D-0 -> pi(+) pi(-) mu(+) mu(-)) = (3.3 +/- 3.7 +/- 0.6)%, A(2 phi) (D-0 -> pi(+) pi(-) mu(+) mu(-)) = (-0.6 +/- 3.7 +/- 0.6)%, A(CP) (D-0 -> pi(+) pi(-) mu(+) mu(-)) = (4.9 +/- 3.8 +/- 0.7)%, A(FB) (D-0 -> K+ K- mu(+) mu(-)) = (0 +/- 11 +/- 2 +/-)%, A(2 phi) (D-0 -> K+ K- mu(+) mu(-)) = (9 +/- 11 +/- 1)%, A(CP) (D-0 -> K+ K- mu(+) mu(-)) = (0 +/- 11 +/- 2)% where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The asymmetries are also measured as a function of the dimuon invariant mass. The results are consistent with the standard model predictions.

Title Measurement of the Omega(0)(c) Baryon Lifetime Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
Volume 121 Issue (down) 9 Pages 092003 - 10pp
Keywords
Abstract We report a measurement of the lifetime of the Omega(0)(c) baryon using proton-proton collision data at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment. The sample consists of about 1000 Omega(-)(b) -> Omega(0)(c)mu(-)nu X-mu signal decays, where the Omega(0)(c) baryon is detected in the pK(-)K(-)pi(+) thorn final state and X represents possible additional undetected particles in the decay. The Omega(0)(c) lifetime is measured to be tau(Omega c0) = 268 +/- 24 +/- 10 +/- 2 fs, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and from the uncertainty in the D+ lifetime, respectively. This value is nearly four times larger than, and inconsistent with, the current world-average value.
