Abstract |
We study the D+ -> K- 0 pi (+) eta reaction where the a(0)(980) excitation plays a dominant role. We consider mechanisms of external and internal emission at the quark level, hadronize the qq components into two mesons and allow these mesons to undergo final state interaction where the a(0)(980) state is generated. While the a(0)(980) production is the dominant term, we also find other terms in the reaction that interfere with this production mode and, through interference with it, lead to a shape of the a(0)(980) significantly different from the one observed in other experiments, with an apparently much larger width. |

Abstract |
We explore the origin of Majorana masses within the majoron model and how this can lead to the generation of a distinguishable primordial stochastic background of gravitational waves. We first show how in the simplest majoron model only a contribution from cosmic string can be within the reach of planned experiments. We then consider extensions containing multiple complex scalars, demonstrating how in this case a spectrum comprising contributions from both a strong first order phase transition and cosmic strings can naturally emerge. We show that the interplay between multiple scalar fields can amplify the phase transition signal, potentially leading to double peaks over the wideband sloped spectrum from cosmic strings. We also underscore the possibility of observing such a gravitational wave background to provide insights into the reheating temperature of the universe. We conclude highlighting how the model can be naturally combined with scenarios addressing the origin of matter of the universe, where baryogenesis occurs via leptogenesis and a right-handed neutrino plays the role of dark matter. |

Abstract |
A search for R-parity-violating supersymmetry in final states with high jet multiplicity is presented. The search uses 140 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data at root s = 13 TeV collected by the ATLAS experiment during Run 2 of the Large Hadron Collider. The results are interpreted in the context of R-parity-violating supersymmetry models that feature prompt gluino-pair production decaying directly to three jets each or decaying to two jets and a neutralino which subsequently decays promptly to three jets. No significant excess over the Standard Model expectation is observed and exclusion limits at the 95% confidence level are extracted. Gluinos with masses up to 1800 GeV are excluded when decaying directly to three jets. In the cascade scenario, gluinos with masses up to 2340 GeV are excluded for a neutralino with mass up to 1250 GeV. |

Abstract |
We study the correlation functions of the (BD+)-D-0, (B+D0) system, which develops a bound state of approximately 40MeV, using inputs consistent with the T-cc(3875) state. Then, we address the inverse problem starting from these correlation functions to determine the scattering observables related to the system, including the existence of the bound state and its molecular nature. The important output of the approach is the uncertainty with which these observables can be obtained, considering errors in the (BD+)-D-0, (B+D0) correlation functions typical of current values in correlation functions. We find that it is possible to obtain scattering lengths and effective ranges with relatively high precision and the existence of a bound state. Although the pole position is obtained with errors of the order of 50% of the binding energy, the molecular probability of the state is obtained with a very small error of the order of 6%. All these findings serve as motivation to perform such measurements in future runs of high energy hadron collisions. |

Abstract |
The decay-time-dependent CP asymmetry in B0s -> J=psi(-> mu+mu-)K+K- decays is measured using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb-1, collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Using a sample of approximately 349 000 B0s signal decays with an invariant K+K- mass in the vicinity of the phi(1020) resonance, the CP-violating phase phi s is measured, along with the difference in decay widths of the light and heavy mass eigenstates of the B0s-B over bar 0s system, Delta Gamma s, and the difference of the average B0s and B0 meson decay widths, Gamma s – Gamma d. The values obtained are phi s = -0.039 +/- 0.022 +/- 0.006 rad, Delta Gamma s = 0.0845 +/- 0.0044 +/- 0.0024 ps-1, and -0.0015 +/- 0.0014 ps-1, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. These are the most precise single measurements to date and are consistent with expectations based on the Standard Model and with the previous LHCb analyses of this decay. These results are combined with previous independent LHCb measurements. The phase phi s is also measured independently for each polarization state of the K+K- system and shows no evidence for polarization dependence. |
