Title Measurements of branching fraction ratios and CP asymmetries in B-+/- -> DCPK +/- decays in hadron collisions Type Journal Article
Year 2010 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 81 Issue (up) 3 Pages 031105 - 9pp
  Keywords
Abstract We reconstruct B-+/- -> DK +/- decays in a data sample collected by the CDF II detector at the Tevatron collider corresponding to 1 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity. We select decay modes where the D meson decays to either K-pi(+) (flavor eigenstate) or K-K+, pi(-)pi(+) (CP-even eigenstates), and measure the direct CP asymmetry A(CP+) = 0.39 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.04(syst), and the double ratio of CP-even to flavor eigenstate branching fractions RCP+ = 1.30 +/- 0.24(stat) +/- 0.12(syst). These measurements will improve the determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle gamma. They are performed here for the first time using data from hadron collisions.

Title Measurements of the top-quark mass using charged particle tracking Type Journal Article
Year 2010 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 81 Issue (up) 3 Pages 032002 - 21pp

Abstract We present three measurements of the top-quark mass in the lepton plus jets channel with approximately 1.9 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected with the CDF II detector using quantities with minimal dependence on the jet energy scale. One measurement exploits the transverse decay length of b-tagged jets to determine a top-quark mass of 166.9(-8.5)(+9.5)(stat) +/- 2.9(syst) GeV/c(2), and another the transverse momentum of electrons and muons from W-boson decays to determine a top-quark mass of 173.5(-8.9)(+8.8)(stat) +/- 3.8(syst) GeV/c(2). These quantities are combined in a third, simultaneous mass measurement to determine a top-quark mass of 170.7 +/- 6.3(stat) +/- 2.6(syst) GeV/c(2) .

Title eta-eta '-glueball mixing Type Journal Article
Year 2010 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
  Volume 82 Issue (up) 3 Pages 034003 - 13pp
  Keywords
Abstract We have revisited glueball mixing with the pseudoscalar mesons in the MIT bag model scheme. The calculation has been performed in the spherical cavity approximation to the bag using two different fermion propagators, the cavity and the free propagators. We obtain probabilities of mixing for the eta at the level of 0.006%-2.0%, while for the eta' one at the level of 0.6%-40%, depending on the choice of bag radius and, therefore, of the strong coupling constant. Our results differ from previous calculations. The origin of our difference stems from the treatment of the time integrations. The comparison of our calculation with experimental data, which is consistent with small eta – eta' – G mixing, implies that the pseudoscalar glueball is small, R similar to 0.5-0.6 fm and has a large mass, M-G similar to 2000-2500 MeV.

Title Hyperfine mixing in electromagnetic decay of doubly heavy bc baryons Type Journal Article
Year 2010 Publication Physics Letters B Abbreviated Journal Phys. Lett. B
  Volume 690 Issue (up) 3 Pages 265-271
Keywords Hyperfine mixing; Double heavy bc baryons
Abstract We investigate the role of hyperfine mixing in the electromagnetic decay of ground state doubly heavy bc baryons. As in the case of a previous calculation on b -> c semileptonic decays of doubly heavy baryons, we find large corrections to the electromagnetic decay widths due to this mixing. Contrary to the weak case just mentioned, we find here that one cannot use electromagnetic width relations obtained in the infinite heavy quark mass limit to experimentally extract information on the admixtures in a model independent way.

Title Dynamically generated resonances from the vector octet-baryon decuplet interaction Type Journal Article
Year 2010 Publication European Physical Journal A Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. A

  Keywords
Abstract We study the interaction of the octet of vector mesons with the decuplet of baryons using Lagrangians of the hidden gauge theory for vector interactions. The unitary amplitudes in coupled channels develop poles that can be associated with some known baryonic resonances, while there are predictions for new ones at the energy frontier of the experimental research. The work offers guidelines on how to search for these resonances.
