Title The pion transition form factor and the pion distribution amplitude Type Journal Article
Year 2010 Publication European Physical Journal A Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. A
  Volume 46 Issue (down) 2 Pages 197-205
  Keywords
Abstract Recent BaBar data on the pion transition form factor, whose Q(2)-dependence is much steeper then predicted by asymptotic Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), have caused a renewed interest in its theoretical description. We present here a formalism based on a model-independent description for low photon virtuality and a high photon virtuality description based on QCD, which match at a scale Q(0). The high photon virtuality description incorporates a flat pion distribution amplitude, phi(x) = 1, at the matching scale Q(0) and QCD evolution from Q(0) to Q > Q(0). The flat pion distribution is connected, through soft pion theorems and chiral symmetry, to the pion valence parton distribution at the same low scale Q(0). The procedure leads to a good description of the data, and by incorporating additional twist-three effects, to an excellent description of the data.

Title Double parton distributions in the pion in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model Type Journal Article
Year 2019 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 12 Issue (down) 12 Pages 045 - 26pp
Keywords Deep Inelastic Scattering (Phenomenology); Phenomenological Models
Abstract Two-parton correlations in the pion, a non perturbative information encoded in double parton distribution functions, are investigated in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. It is found that double parton distribution functions expose novel dynamical information on the structure of the pion, not accessible through one-body parton distributions, as it happens in several estimates for the proton target and in a previous evaluation for the pion, in a light-cone framework. Expressions and predictions are given for double parton distributions corresponding to leading-twist Dirac operators in the quark vertices, and to different regularization methods for the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. These results are particularly relevant in view of forthcoming lattice data.

Title Pion transverse momentum dependent parton distributions in the Nambu and Jona-Lasinio model Type Journal Article
Year 2015 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
  Volume 11 Issue (down) 11 Pages 102 - 18pp
Keywords Deep Inelastic Scattering; Phenomenological Models; Chiral Lagrangians
Abstract An explicit evaluation of the two pion transverse momentum dependent parton distributions at leading twist is presented, in the framework of the Nambu-Jona Lasinio model with Pauli-Villars regularization. The transverse momentum dependence of the obtained distributions is generated solely by the dynamics of the model. Using these results, the so called generalized Boer-Mulders shift is studied and compared with recent lattice data. The obtained agreement is very encouraging, in particular because no additional parameter has been introduced. A more conclusive comparison would require a precise knowledge of the QCD evolution of the transverse momentum dependent parton distributions under scrutiny.

Title Strong magnetic fields in nonlocal chiral quark models Type Journal Article

Abstract We study the behavior of strongly interacting matter under a uniform intense external magnetic field in the context of nonlocal extensions of the Polyakov-Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. A detailed description of the formalism is presented, considering the cases of zero and finite temperature. In particular, we analyze the effect of the magnetic field on the chiral restoration and deconfinement transitions, which are found to occur at approximately the same critical temperatures. Our results show that these models offer a natural framework to account for the phenomenon of inverse magnetic catalysis found in lattice QCD calculations.

Title Model analysis of the world data on the pion transition form factor Type Journal Article
Year 2012 Publication European Physical Journal A Abbreviated Journal Eur. Phys. J. A
  Volume 48 Issue (down) 10 Pages 143 - 4pp

Abstract We discuss the impact of recent Belle data on our description of the pion transition form factor based on the assumption that a perturbative formalism and a nonperturbative one can be matched in a physically acceptable manner at a certain hadronic scale Q(0). We discuss the implications of the different parameters of the model in comparing with world data and conclude that within experimental errors our description remains valid. Thus we can assert that the low Q(2) nonperturbative description together with an additional 1/Q(2) term at the matching scale have a strong influence on the Q(2) behavior up to very high values of Q(2).
