Abstract: The first measurement of CP asymmetries in the decay B-s(0) -> J/psi(K) over bar*(892)(0) and an updated measurement of its branching fraction and polarisation fractions are presented. The results are obtained using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb (-1) of proton-proton collisions recorded with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. Together with constraints from B-0 -> J/psi rho(0), the results are used to constrain additional contributions due to penguin diagrams in the CP-violating phase phi(s), measured through B-s(0) decays to charmonium.

Abstract: A search for B-(s)(0) -> K-S (0) K*(892)(0) decays is performed using pp collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The B-s (0) -> (KSK)-K-0*(892)(0) decay is observed for the first time, with a significance of 7.1 standard deviations. The branching fraction is measured to be B(B-s(0) -> (K) over bar K-0*(892)(0)) + B(B-s(0) -> K-0(K) over bar*(892)(0)) = (16.4 +/- 3.4 +/- 2.3) x10(-6), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. No evidence is found for the decay B-0 ->(KSK)-K-0*(892)(0) and an upper limit is set on the branching fraction, B(B-0 -> (K) over bar K-0*(892)(0)) + B(B-0 -> K-0(K) over bar*(892)(0)) < 0.96 x 10(-6) , at 90 % confidence level. All results are consistent with Standard Model predictions.

Abstract: The forward-backward charge asymmetry for the process q (q) over bar -> Z/gamma* -> mu(+)mu(-) is measured as a function of the invariant mass of the dimuon system. Measurements are performed using proton proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at root s = 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1 fb(-1) and 2 fb(-2) respectively. Within the Standard Model the results constrain the effective electroweak mixing angle to be

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Ruiz Valls, P., & Sanchez Mayordomo, C. (2016). Measurement of forward W and Z boson production in pp collisions at root s=8TeV. J. High Energy Phys., 01(1), 155–45pp.
Abstract: Measurements are presented of electroweak boson production using data from pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 8TeV. The analysis is based on an integrated luminosity of 2.0 fb(-1) recorded with the LHCb detector. The bosons are identified in the W -> μnu and Z -> mu(+)mu(-) decay channels. The cross-sections are measured for muons in the pseudorapidity range 2.0 < eta < 4.5, with transverse momenta p(T) > 20 GeV/c and, in the case of the Z boson, a dimuon mass within 60 < M mu+mu- < 120 GeV/c(2). The results are sigma(W+) -> mu(+)nu(-) = 1093.6 +/- 2.1 +/- 7.2 +/- 10.9 +/- 12.7 pb, sigma(W-) -> mu(-)nu(-) = 818.4 +/- 1.9 +/- 5.0 +/- 7.0 +/- 9.5 pb, sigma(Z) -> mu(+)mu(-) = 95.0 +/- 0.3 +/- 0.7 +/- 1.1 +/- 1.1 pb, where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, the third are due to the knowledge of the LHC beam energy and the fourth are due to the luminosity determination. The evolution of the W and Z boson cross-sections with centre-of-mass energy is studied using previously reported measurements with 1.0 fb(-1) of data at 7 TeV. Differential distributions are also presented. Results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions at next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Ruiz Valls, P., & Sanchez Mayordomo, C. (2016). Angular analysis of the B-0 -> K*(0) mu(+) mu(-) decay using 3 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity. J. High Energy Phys., 02(2), 104–79pp.
Abstract: An angular analysis of the B-0 -> K*(0) (-> K+pi(-))mu(+)mu(-) decay is presented. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data collected at the LHCb experiment. The complete angular information from the decay is used to determine CP-averaged observables and CP asymmetries, taking account of possible contamination from decays with the K+pi(-) system in an S-wave configuration. The angular observables and their correlations are reported in bins of q(2), the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system. The observables are determined both from an unbinned maximum likelihood fit and by using the principal moments of the angular distribution. In addition, by fitting for q(2)-dependent decay amplitudes in the region 1.1 < q(2) < 6.0 GeV2/(c)4, the zero-crossing points of several angular observables are computed. A global fit is performed to the complete set of CP-averaged observables obtained from the maximum likelihood fit. This fit indicates differences with predictions based on the Standard Model at the level of 3.4 standard deviations. These differences could be explained by contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model, or by an unexpectedly large hadronic effect that is not accounted for in the Standard Model predictions.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Ruiz Valls, P., & Sanchez Mayordomo, C. (2016). Observation of the B (s) (0) -> J/psi phi phi decay. J. High Energy Phys., 03(3), 040–18pp.
Abstract: The B (s) (0) -> J/psi phi phi decay is observed in pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) recorded by the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7 TeV and 8 TeV. This is the first observation of this decay channel, with a statistical significance of 15 standard deviations. The mass of the B (s) (0) meson is measured to be 5367.08 +/- 0.38 +/- 0.15 MeV/c(2). The branching fraction ratio B[B(s)(0) -> J/psi phi phi]/B[B(s)(0) -> J/psi phi] is measured to be 0.0115 +/- 0.0012 (- 0.0009) (+ 0.0005) . In both cases, the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. No evidence for non-resonant B(s)(0) -> J/psi phi K (+) K (-) or B(s)(0) -> J/psi K (+) K (-) K (+) K (-) decays is found.

LHCb Collaboration(Aaij, R. et al), Martinez-Vidal, F., Oyanguren, A., Ruiz Valls, P., & Sanchez Mayordomo, C. (2016). Measurements of prompt charm production cross-sections in pp collisions at root s=13 TeV. J. High Energy Phys., 03(3), 159–43pp.
Abstract: Production cross-sections of prompt charm mesons are measured with the first data from pp collisions at the LHC at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.98 +/- 0.19 pb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment. The production cross-sections of D-0, D+, D (s) (+) , and D*+ mesons are measured in bins of charm meson transverse momentum, p(T), and rapidity, y, and cover the range 0 < p(T) < 15GeV/c and 2.0 < y < 4.5. The inclusive cross-sections for the four mesons, including charge conjugation, within the range of 1 < p(T) < 8 GeV/c are found to be sigma(pp -> D-0 X) = 2460 +/- 3 +/- 130 μb sigma(pp -> D+ X) = 1000 +/- 3 +/- 110 μb sigma(pp -> Ds+X) = 460 +/- 13 +/- 100 μb sigma(pp -> D*+ X) = 880 +/- 5 +/- 140 μb where the uncertainties are due to statistical and systematic uncertainties, respectively.

Abstract: The production of psi(2S) mesons is studied in dimuon final states using proton-lead (pPb) collision data collected by the LHCb detector. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.6 nb(-1). The nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of the pPb collisions is root s(NN) = 5 TeV. The measurement is performed using psi(2S) mesons with transverse momentum less than 14 GeV/c and rapidity y in the ranges 1.5 < y < 4.0 and -5.0 < y < -2.5 in the nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass system. The forward-backward production ratio and the nuclear modi fi cation factor are determined for psi(2S) mesons. Using the production cross-section results of psi(2S) and J/psi mesons from b-hadron decays, the b (b) over bar cross-section in pPb collisions at root s(NN) = 5 TeV is obtained.

Abstract: The first model-independent measurement of the charm mixing parameters in the decay D-0 -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-) is reported, using a sample of pp collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1) at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Abstract: A search is performed for D-sJ(()*()+) mesons in the reactions pp -> D*(+KSX)-X-0 and pp -> D*(K+X)-K-0 using data collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV with the LHCb detector. For the D*K-+(S)0 final state, the decays D*(+) -> D-0 pi(+) with D-0 -> K-pi(+) and D-0 -> K-pi(+)pi(+)pi(-) are used. For D*K-0(+), the decay D*(0) -> D-0 pi(0) with D-0 -> K-pi(+) is used. A prominent D-s1(2536)(+) signal is observed in both D*K-+(S)0 and D*K-0(+) final states. The resonances D*(s1)(2700)(+) and D*(s3)(2860)(+) are also observed, yielding information on their properties, including spin-parity assignments. The decay D*(s2)(2573)(+) -> D*(+) K-S(0) is observed for the first time, at a significance of 6.9 sigma, and its branching fraction relative to the D*(s2)(2573)(+) -> (D+KS0) decay mode is measured.
