Title Performance evaluation of MACACO II Compton camera Type Journal Article

Keywords Compton camera; Hadron therapy; LaBr3; Silicon photomultipliers
Abstract The IRIS group at IFIC-Valencia has developed a second version of a Compton camera prototype for hadron therapy treatment monitoring, with the aim of improving the performance with respect to its predecessor. The system is composed of three Lanthanum (III) bromide (LaBr3) crystals coupled to silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs). The detector energy resolution has been improved to 5.6% FWHM at 511 keV and an angular resolution of 8.0 degrees has been obtained. Images of a Na-22 point-like source have been reconstructed selecting two and three interaction events. Moreover, the experimental data have been reproduced with Monte Carlo simulations using a Compton camera module (CCMod) in GATE v8.2 obtaining a good correlation.

Title Measurement of the intrinsic hadronic contamination in the NA64-e high-purity e+/e- beam at CERN Type Journal Article
Year 2023 Publication Nuclear Instruments & Methods in Physics Research A Abbreviated Journal Nucl. Instrum. Methods Phys. Res. A
  Volume 1057 Issue Pages 168776 - 8pp
Keywords Light dark matter; Missing-energy experiment; H4 beamline; Hadron contamination
Abstract We present the measurement of the intrinsic hadronic contamination at the CERN SPS H4 beamline configured to transport electrons and positrons at 100 GeV/c. The analysis, performed using data collected by the NA64-e experiment in 2022, is based on calorimetric measurements, exploiting the different interaction mechanisms of electrons and hadrons in the NA64 detector. We determined the contamination by comparing the results obtained using the nominal electron/positron beamline configuration with those from a dedicated setup, in which only hadrons impinged on the detector. We also obtained an estimate of the relative protons, antiprotons and pions yield by exploiting the different absorption probabilities of these particles in matter. We cross-checked our results with a dedicated Monte Carlo simulation for the hadron production at the primary T2 target, finding a good agreement with the experimental measurements.

Title Shedding light on dark matter at colliders Type Journal Article
Year 2013 Publication International Journal of Modern Physics A Abbreviated Journal Int. J. Mod. Phys. A
  Volume 28 Issue 31 Pages 1330052 - 34pp
Keywords Dark matter; supersymmetry; extra dimensions; beyond Standard Model physics; Large Hadron Collider; ATLAS; CMS
Abstract Dark matter remains one of the most puzzling mysteries in Fundamental Physics of our times. Experiments at high-energy physics colliders are expected to shed light to its nature and determine its properties. This review focuses on recent searches for dark matter signatures at the Large Hadron Collider, also discussing related prospects in future e(+)e(-) colliders.

Title Updated LHC bounds on MUED after run 2 Type Journal Article
Year 2023 Publication International Journal of Modern Physics A Abbreviated Journal Int. J. Mod. Phys. A
  Volume 38 Issue 1 Pages 2350002 - 14pp
Keywords Universal extra dimensions; large hadron collider; phenomenology
Abstract We present updated LHC limits on the minimal universal extra dimensions (MUEDs) model from the Run 2 searches. We scan the parameter space against a number of searches implemented in the public code CheckMATE and derive up-to-date limits on the MUED parameter space from 13TeV searches. The strongest constraints come from a search dedicated to squarks and gluinos with one isolated lepton, jets and missing transverse energy. In the procedure, we take into account initial state radiation and stress its importance in the MUED searches, which is not always appreciated.

Title Heavy Hadron Spectroscopy: A Quark Model Perspective Type Journal Article
Year 2013 Publication International Journal of Modern Physics E Abbreviated Journal Int. J. Mod. Phys. E
  Volume 22 Issue 5 Pages 1330011 - 25pp
Keywords Heavy hadrons; constituent quark model; many-quark systems
Abstract We present recent results of hadron spectroscopy and hadron hadron interaction from the perspective of constituent quark models. We pay special attention to the role played by higher-order hock space components in the hadron spectra and the connection of this extension with the hadron-hadron interaction. The main goal of our description is to obtain a coherent understanding of the low-energy hadron phenomenology without enforcing any particular model, to constrain its characteristics and learn about the low-energy realization of the theory.
