Alvarez-Ruso, L., Nieves, J., Ruiz Simo, I., Valverde, M., & Vicente Vacas, M. J. (2013). Charged kaon production by coherent scattering of neutrinos and antineutrinos on nuclei. Phys. Rev. C, 87(1), 015503–11pp.
Abstract: With the aim of achieving a better and more complete understanding of neutrino interactions with nuclear targets, the coherent production of charged kaons induced by neutrinos and antineutrinos is investigated in the energy range of some of the current neutrino experiments. We follow a microscopic approach which, at the nucleon level, incorporates the most important mechanisms allowed by the chiral-symmetry-breaking pattern of QCD. The distortion of the outgoing K ((K) over bar) is taken into account by solving the Klein-Gordon equation with realistic optical potentials. Angular and momentum distributions, as well as the energy and nuclear dependence of the total cross section, are studied.

n_TOF Collaboration(Tagliente, G. et al.), Domingo-Pardo, C., & Tain, J. L. (2013). The Zr-93(n, gamma) reaction up to 8 keV neutron energy. Phys. Rev. C, 87(1), 014622–7pp.
Abstract: The (n, gamma) reaction of the radioactive isotope Zr-93 has been measured at the n_TOF high-resolution time-of-flight facility at CERN. Resonance parameters have been extracted in the neutron energy range up to 8 keV, yielding capture widths smaller (14%) than reported in an earlier experiment. These results are important for detailed nucleosynthesis calculations and for refined studies of waste transmutation concepts. DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevC.87.014622

Wrede, C., Sjue, S. K. L., Garcia, A., Swanson, H. E., Ahmad, I., Algora, A., et al. (2013). Electron capture on In-116 and implications for nuclear structure related to double-beta decay. Phys. Rev. C, 87(3), 031303–5pp.
Abstract: The electron capture decay branch of In-116 has been measured to be [2.46 +/- 0.44(stat.) +/- 0.39(syst.)] x 10(-4) using Penning trap-assisted decay spectroscopy. The corresponding Gamow-Teller transition strength is shown to be compatible with the most recent value extracted from the (p, n) charge-exchange reaction, providing a resolution to longstanding discrepancies. This transition can now be used as a reliable benchmark for nuclear-structure calculations of the matrix element for the neutrinoless double-beta decay of Cd-116 and other nuclides.

Abstract: The beta-feeding probabilities for three important contributors to the decay heat in nuclear reactors, namely Tc-102,Tc-104,Tc-105, have been measured using the total absorption spectroscopy technique. For the measurements, sources of very high isobaric purity have been obtained using a Penning trap (JYFLTRAP). A detailed description of the data analysis is given and the results are compared with high-resolution measurements and theoretical calculations. DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevC.87.044318

Zheng, Y. et al, & Gadea, A. (2013). gamma-ray linear polarization measurements and (g(9/2))(-3) neutron alignment in Ru-91. Phys. Rev. C, 87(4), 044328–10pp.
Abstract: Linear polarization measurements have been performed for gamma rays in Ru-91 produced with the Ni-58(Ar-36,2p1n gamma)Ru-91 reaction at a beam energy of 111 MeV. The EXOGAM Ge clover array has been used to measure the gamma-gamma coincidences, gamma-ray linear polarization, and gamma-ray angular distributions. The polarization sensitivity of the EXOGAM clover detectors acting as Compton polarimeters has been determined in the energy range 0.3-1.3 MeV. Several transitions have been observed for the first time. Measurements of linear polarization and angular distribution have led to the firm assignments of spin differences and parity of high-spin states in Ru-91. More specifically, calculations using a semiempirical shell model were performed to understand the structures of the first and second (21/2(+)) and (17/2(+)) levels. The results are in good agreement with the experimental data, supporting the interpretation of the nonyrast (21/2(+)) and (17/2(+)) states in terms of the J(max) and J(max) – 2 members of the seniority-three nu(g(9/2))(-3) multiplet.
