Abstract |
Measurements of charm mixing and CP violation parameters from the decay-time-dependent ratio of D-0 -> K+pi(-) to D-0 -> K-pi(+) decay rates and the charge-conjugate ratio are reported. The analysis uses (B) over bar -> D*(+) μX-, and charge-conjugate decays, where D *(+) -> D-0 pi(+), and D-0 -> K-+/-pi(-/+). The pp collision data are recorded by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies root s = 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). The data are analyzed under three hypotheses: (i) mixing assuming CP symmetry, (ii) mixing assuming no direct CP violation in the Cabibbo-favored or doubly Cabibbo-suppressed decay amplitudes, and (iii) mixing allowing either direct CP violation and/or CP violation in the superpositions of flavor eigenstates defining the mass eigenstates. The data are also combined with those from a previous LHCb study of D-0 -> K pi decays from a disjoint set of D*(+) candidates produced directly in pp collisions. In all cases, the data are consistent with the hypothesis of CP symmetry. |

Abstract |
The B-+/- meson production asymmetry in pp collisions is measured using B-+/- -> (D) over bar (0)pi(+) decays. The data were recorded by the LHCb experiment during Run 1 of the LHC at center- of- mass energies of ffiffiffi root s = 7 and 8 TeV. The production asymmetries, integrated over transverse momenta in the range 2 < p(T) < 30 GeV/c, and rapidities in the range 2.1 < y < 4.5 are measured to be A(prod)(B+, root s = 7 TeV) = (-0.41 +/- 0.49 +/- 0.10) x 10(- 2), A(prod)(B+, root s = 8 TeV = (- 0.53 +/- 0.31 +/- 0.10) x 10(-2), where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. These production asymmetries are used to correct the raw asymmetries of (B+ -> J/psi K+) decays, thus allowing a measurement of the CP asymmetry, A(CP)(B+-> J/psi K+) = (0.09 +/- 0.27 +/- 0.07) x 10(-2) |

Abstract |
The suppressed decay Lambda(0)(b) -> p pi(-) mu(+) mu(-), excluding the J/psi and psi(2S) -> mu(+) mu(-) resonances, is observed for the first time with a significance of 5.5 standard deviations. The analysis is performed with proton- proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb experiment. The Lambda(0)(b) -> p pi(-) mu(+) mu(-) branching fraction is measured relative to the Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi (-> mu(+) mu(-)) p pi(-) branching fraction giving B (Lambda(0)(b) -> p pi(-) mu(+) mu(-))/B(Lambda(0)(b) -> J/psi (-> mu(+) mu(-)) p pi(-)) = 0.044 +/- 0.012 +/- 0.007, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This is the first observation of a b -> d transition in a baryonic decay. |

Abstract |
Measurements of the differential branching fraction and angular moments of the decay B-0 -> K+pi(-)mu(+)mu(-) in the K+pi(-) invariant mass range 1330 <m(K+pi(-)) < 1530 MeV/c(2) are presented. Proton-proton collision data are used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment. Differential branching fraction measurements are reported in five bins of the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system, q(2), between 0.1 and 8.0 GeV2/c(4). For the first time, an angular analysis sensitive to the S-, P- and D-wave contributions of this rare decay is performed. The set of 40 normalised angular moments describing the decay is presented for the q(2) range 1.1-6.0 GeV2/c(4). |

Abstract |
A search for a long-lived scalar particle. is performed, looking for the decay B+ -> K+chi with chi ->mu(+)mu(-) pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of root s = 7 and 8 TeV. This new scalar particle, predicted by hidden sector models, is assumed to have a narrow width. The signal would manifest itself as an excess in the dimuon invariant mass distribution over the Standard Model background. No significant excess is observed in the accessible ranges of mass 250 < m(chi) < 4700 MeV/c(2) and lifetime 0.1 < tau(chi) < 1000 ps. Upper limits on the branching fraction B(B-broken vertical bar -> K-broken vertical bar chi(mu(vertical bar) mu(-))) at 95% confidence level are set as a function of m(chi) and tau(chi), varying between 2 x 10(-10) and 10(-7). These are the most stringent limits to date. The limits are interpreted in the context of a model with a light inflaton particle. |

Abstract |
The Xi K-+(c)- mass spectrum is studied with a sample of pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.3 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment. The Xi(+)(c) is reconstructed in the decay mode pK(-)pi(vertical bar) . Five new, narrow excited Omega(0)(c) states are observed: the Omega(c)(3000)(0), Omega(c)(3050)(0), Omega(c)(3066)(0), Omega(c) (3090)(0), and Omega(c)(3119)(0). Measurements of their masses and widths are reported. |

Abstract |
Two new algorithms for use in the analysis of pp collision are developed to identify the flavour of B mesons at production using pions and protons from the hadronization process. The algorithms are optimized and calibrated on data, using B-0 -> D- pi(+) decays from pp collision data collected by LIICh at centre -of -mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The tagging power of the new pion algorithm is 60% greater than the previously available one; the algorithm using protons to identify the flavour of a B-0 meson is the first of its kind. |

Abstract |
A search for the decays B-c(+) -> J/psi D-(*()0) Kappa(+) and B-c(+) -> J/psi D-(*K)+*(0) is performed with data collected at the LHCb experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). The decays B-c(+) -> J/psi(DK+)-K-0 and B-c(+) -> J/psi D*K-0(+) are observed for the first time, while first evidence is reported for the B-c(broken vertical bar) -> J/psi D*K-broken vertical bar(*0) and B-c(broken vertical bar) -> J/psi(DK)-K-broken vertical bar*(0) decays. The branching fractions of these decays are determined relative to the B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+) decay. The B-c(+) mass is measured, using the J/psi(DK+)-K-0 final state, to be 6274.28 +/- 1.40(stat) +/- 0.32(syst) MeV/c(2). This is the most precise single measurement of the B-c(+) mass to date. |

Abstract |
A search for the rare decays B-s(0)->mu(+)mu(-) and B-0 -> mu(+)mu(-) is performed at the LHCb experiment using data collected in pp collisions corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 4.4 fb(-1). An excess of B-s(0) -> mu(+)mu- decays is observed with a significance of 7.8 standard deviations, representing the first observation of this decay in a single experiment. The branching fraction is measured to be B(B-s(0) -> mu(+)mu(-)) = (3.0 +/- 0.6(-0.2)(+)(0.3)) x 10(-9), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The first measurement of the B-s(0) -> mu(+)mu(-) effective lifetime, tau(B-s(0)-> mu(+) mu(-)) = 2.04 +/- 0.44 +/- 0.05 ps, is reported. No significant excess of B-0 -> mu(+)mu(-) decays is found, and a 95% confidence level upper limit, B(B-0 -> mu(+)mu(-) ) < 3.4 x 10(-10), is determined. All results are in agreement with the standard model expectations. |

Abstract |
A search for the rare two-body charmless baryonic decay B+ -> p (Lambda) over bar is performed with pp collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. An excess of B+ -> p (Lambda) over bar candidates with respect to background expectations is seen with a statistical significance of 4.1 standard deviations, and constitutes the first evidence for this decay. The branching fraction, measured using the B+ -> K-S(0)pi(+) decay for normalisation, is B(B+ -> p (Lambda) over bar) = (2.4(-0.8)(+)(+1.0) +/- 0.3) x 10(-7), where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. |
