Courtoy, A., Scopetta, S., & Vento, V. (2011). Non-perturbative momentum dependence of the coupling constant and hadronic models. Eur. Phys. J. A, 47(4), 49–7pp.
Abstract: Models of hadron structure are associated with a hadronic scale which allows by perturbative evolution to calculate observables in the deep inelastic region. The resolution of Dyson-Schwinger equations leads to the freezing of the QCD running coupling (effective charge) in the infrared, which is best understood as a dynamical generation of a gluon mass function, giving rise to a momentum dependence which is free from infrared divergences. We use this new development to understand why perturbative treatments are working reasonably well despite the smallness of the hadronic scale.

HADES Collaboration(Agakishiev, G. et al), Diaz, J., & Gil, A. (2011). pp and pi pi intensity interferometry in collisions of Ar+KCl at 1.76A GeV. Eur. Phys. J. A, 47(5), 63–8pp.
Abstract: Results on pp, pi(+) pi(+), and pi-pi-intensity interferometry are reported for collisions of Ar+KCl at 1.76A GeV beam energy, studied with the High Acceptance Di-Electron Spectrometer (HADES) at SIS18/GSI. The experimental correlation functions as a function of the relative momentum are compared to model calculations allowing the determination of the space-time extent of the corresponding emission sources. The pp source radii are found significantly larger than the pp emission radius. The present radii do well complement the beam-energy dependences of Gaussian source radii of the collision system of size A + A similar or equal to 40 + 40. The pp source radius at fixed beam energy is found to increase linearly with the cube root of the number of participants. From this trend, a lower limit of the pp correlation radius is deduced.

de Azcarraga, J. A., Kamimura, K., & Lukierski, J. (2011). Generalized cosmological term from Maxwell symmetries. Phys. Rev. D, 83(12), 124036–8pp.
Abstract: By gauging the Maxwell spacetime algebra, the standard geometric framework of Einstein gravity with cosmological constant term is extended by adding six four-vector fields A(mu)(ab)(x) associated with the six Abelian tensorial charges in the Maxwell algebra. In the simplest Maxwell extension of Einstein gravity this leads to a generalized cosmological term that includes a contribution from these vector fields. We also consider going beyond the basic gravitational model by means of bilinear actions for the new Abelian gauge fields. Finally, an analogy with the supersymmetric generalization of gravity is indicated. In an appendix, we propose an equivalent description of the model in terms of a shift of the standard spin connection by the A(mu)(ab)(x) fields.

Mayoral, C., Fabbri, A., & Rinaldi, M. (2011). Steplike discontinuities in Bose-Einstein condensates and Hawking radiation: Dispersion effects. Phys. Rev. D, 83(12), 124047–22pp.
Abstract: In this paper we extend the hydrodynamic results of {A. Fabbri and C. Mayoral, Phys. Rev. D 83, 124016 (2011).} and study, analytically, the propagation of Bogoliubov phonons on top of Bose-Einstein condensates with steplike discontinuities in the speed of sound by taking into account dispersion effects. We focus on the Hawking signal in the density-density correlations in the formation of acoustic blackhole-like configurations.

Dijon, A. et al, & Gadea, A. (2011). Lifetime measurements in Co-63 and Co-65. Phys. Rev. C, 83(6), 064321–7pp.
Abstract: Lifetimes of the 9/2(1)(-) and 3/2(1)(-) states in Co-63 and the 9/2(1)(-) state in Co-65 were measured using the recoil distance Doppler shift and the differential decay curve methods. The nuclei were populated by multinucleon transfer reactions in inverse kinematics. gamma rays were measured with the EXOGAM Ge array and the recoiling fragments were fully identified using the large-acceptance VAMOS spectrometer. The E2 transition probabilities from the 3/2(1)(-) and 9/2(1)(-) states to the 7/2(-) ground state could be extracted in Co-63 as well as an upper limit for the 9/2(1)(-) -> 7/2(1)(-) B(E2) value in Co-65. The experimental results were compared to large-scale shell-model calculations in the pf and pfg(9/2) model spaces, allowing us to draw conclusions on the single-particle or collective nature of the various states.
