Abstract The Cabibbo-suppressed decay Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi (c1)p(-) is observed for the first time using data from proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Evidence for the Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi (c2)p(-) decay is also found. Using the Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi (c1)pK(-) decay as normalisation channel, the ratios of branching fractions are measured to be<disp-formula id=“Equa”><mml:mtable displaystyle=“true”><mml:mtr><mml:mtd><mml:mfrac>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> chi c1p pi-</mml:mfenced>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0</mml:msubsup>-> <mml:msub>chi c1pK-</mml:mfenced></mml:mfrac>=<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>6.59 +/- 1.01 +/- 0.22</mml:mfenced>x10-2,</mml:mtd></mml:mtr><mml:mtr><mml:mtd><mml:mfrac>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0 -> <mml:msub>chi c2p pi-</mml:mfenced>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0 -> <mml:msub>chi c1p pi-</mml:mfenced></mml:mfrac>=0.95 +/- 0.30 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.04,</mml:mtd></mml:mtr><mml:mtr><mml:mtd><mml:mfrac>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0 -> <mml:msub>chi c2pK-</mml:mfenced>B<mml:mfenced close=“)” open=“(”>Lambda b0 -> <mml:msub>chi c1pK-</mml:mfenced></mml:mfrac>=1.06 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.04,</mml:mtd></mml:mtr></mml:mtable><graphic position=“anchor” xmlns:xlink=“http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink” xlink:href=“13130202115658ArticleEqua.gif”></graphic></disp-formula><p id=“Par2”>where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the uncertainties in the branching fractions of chi (c1,2)-> J/psi gamma decays.<fig id=“Figa” position=“anchor”><graphic position=“anchor” specific-use=“HTML” mime-subtype=“JPEG” xmlns:xlink=“http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink” xlink:href=“MediaObjects/13130202115658FigaHTML.jpg” id=“MO1”></graphic

Title Measurement of the CKM angle gamma from a combination of LHCb results Type Journal Article
Year 2016 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 12 Issue 12 Pages (down) 087 - 59pp
Keywords B physics; CKM angle gamma; CP violation; Hadron-Hadron scattering (experiments)
Abstract A combination of measurements sensitive to the CKM angle gamma from LHCb is performed. The inputs are from analyses of time-integrated B+ -> DK+, B-0 -> DK*(0), B-0 -> DK+ pi(-) and B+ -> DK+ pi(+) pi(-) tree-level decays. In addition, results from a time-dependent analysis of B-s(0) -> (DsK +/-)-K--/+ decays are included. The combination yields = (72: 2(-7.3)(+6:8) 7 : 3)degrees, where the uncertainty includes systematic effects. The 95.5% confidence level interval is determined to be gamma is an element of [55.9, 85.2]degrees. A second combination is investigated, also including measurements from B+ -> DK+, B-0 -> DK*(0), B-0 -> DK+ pi(-) and B+ -> DK+ pi(+) pi decays, which yields compatible results.

Title Study of B-c(+) -> J/psi D-s(+) and B-c(+)-> J/psi D-s*(+)decays in pp collisions at root s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector Type Journal Article
Year 2022 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 08 Issue 8 Pages (down) 087 - 42pp
Keywords B Physics; Hadron-Hadron Scattering
Abstract A study of B-c(+) -> J/psi D-s(+) and B-c(+)-> J/psi D-s*(+) decays using 139 fb(-1) of in- tegrated luminosity collected with the ATLAS detector from root s = 13 TeV pp collisions at the LHC is presented. The ratios of the branching fractions of the two decays to the branching fraction of the B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+) decay are measured: B(B-c(+) -> J/psi D-s(+))/B(B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+)) = 2.76 +/- 0.47 and B(B-c(+)-> J/psi D-s*(+))/B(B-c(+) -> J/psi pi(+)) = 5.33 +/- 0.96. The ratio of the branching fractions of the two decays is found to be B(B-c(+)-> J/psi D-s*(+))/B(B-c(+) -> J/psi D-s(+)) = 1.93 +/- 0.26. For the B-c(+)-> J/psi D-s*(+) decay, the transverse polarization fraction, Gamma(+/-+/-)/Gamma, is measured to be 0.70 +/- 0.11. The reported uncertainties include both the statistical and systematic components added in quadrature. The precision of the measurements exceeds that in all previous studies of these decays. These results supersede those obtained in the earlier ATLAS study of the same decays with root s = 7 and 8 TeV pp collision data. A comparison with available theoretical predictions for the measured quantities is presented.

Title Search for beautiful tetraquarks in the Υ(1S)(+-) invariant-mass spectrum Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 10 Issue 10 Pages (down) 086 - 22pp
Keywords B physics; Exotics; Hadron-Hadron scattering (experiments); Heavy quark production
Abstract The Υ(1 S) invariant-mass distribution is investigated for a possible exotic meson state composed of two b quarks and two b quarks, X bbbb. The analysis is based on a data sample of pp collisions recorded with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies s = 7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6.3 fb. No signi fi cant excess is found, and upper limits are set on the product of the production cross-section and the branching fraction as functions of the mass of the X bbbb state. The limits are set in the fi ducial volume where all muons have pseudorapidity in the range [2 : 0; 5 : 0], and the X bbbb state has rapidity in the range [2 : 0; 4 : 5] and transverse momentum less than 15 GeV/c.

Title Differential branching fraction and angular analysis of the decay B-s(0) -> phi mu(+)mu(-) Type Journal Article
Year 2013 Publication Journal of High Energy Physics Abbreviated Journal J. High Energy Phys.
Volume 07 Issue 7 Pages (down) 084 - 18pp
Keywords Rare decay; Hadron-Hadron Scattering; B physics; Flavor physics
Abstract The determination of the differential branching fraction and the first angular analysis of the decay B-s(0) -> phi mu(+)mu(-) are presented using data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment at root s = 7 TeV. The differential branching fraction is determined in bins of q(2), the invariant dimuon mass squared. Integration over the full q2 range yields a total branching fraction of B(B-s(0) -> phi mu(+)mu(-)) = (7.07(-0.59)(+0.64) +/- 0.17 +/- 0.71) x 10(-7), where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third originates from the branching fraction of the normalisation channel. An angular analysis is performed to determine the angular observables F-L, S-3, A(6), and A(9). The observables are consistent with Standard Model expectations.
