Title U(1)(B3-3L2) gauge symmetry as a simple description of b -> s anomalies Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
Volume 98 Issue 9 Pages (down) 095002 - 11pp
Keywords
Abstract We present a simple U(1)(B3-3L2) gauge standard model extension that can easily account for the anomalies in R(K) and R(K*) reported by LHCb. The model is economical in its setup and particle content. Among the standard model fermions, only the third generation quark family and the second generation leptons transform nontrivially under the new U(1)(B3-3L2) symmetry. This leads to lepton nonuniversality and flavor changing neutral currents involving the second and third quark families. We discuss the relevant experimental constraints and some implications.

Title Molecular Omega(c) states generated from coupled meson-baryon channels Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
Volume 97 Issue 9 Pages (down) 094035 - 11pp

Abstract We have investigated Omega(c) states that are dynamically generated from the meson-baryon interaction. We use an extension of the local hidden gauge to obtain the interaction from the exchange of vector mesons. We show that the dominant terms come from the exchange of light vectors, where the heavy quarks are spectators. This has as a consequence that heavy quark symmetry is preserved for the dominant terms in the (1/m(Q)) counting, and also that the interaction in this case can be obtained from the SU(3) chiral Lagrangians. We show that for a standard value for the cutoff regulating the loop, we obtain two states with J(P) = 1/2(-) and two more with J(P) = 3/2(-), three of them in remarkable agreement with three experimental states in mass and width. We also make predictions at higher energies for states of vector-baryon nature.

Title Bottom strange molecules with isospin 0 Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
Volume 97 Issue 9 Pages (down) 094031 - 9pp
Keywords
Abstract Using the local hidden gauge approach, we study the possibility of the existence of bottom strange molecular states with isospin 0. We find three bound states with spin parity 0(+), 1(+), and 2(+) generated by the (K) over bar *B* and omega B-s(*) interaction, among which the state with spin 2 can be identified as B(s2)(*()5840). In addition, we also study the (K) over bar *B* and omega B-s(*) interaction and find a bound state which can be associated to B-s1(5830). In addition, the (K) over barB*, eta B-s(*)(K) over barB, and eta B-s systems are studied, and two bound states are predicted. We expect that further experiments can confirm our predictions.

Title Omega(-)(b) -> (Xi(+)(c) K-)pi(-) decay and the Omega(c) states Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
Volume 98 Issue 9 Pages (down) 094022 - 8pp
Keywords
Abstract We study the weak decay Omega(-)(b) -> (Xi(+)(c) K-)pi(-), in view of the narrow Omega(c) states recently measured by the LHCb Collaboration and later confirmed by the Belle Collaboration. The Omega(c) (3050) and Omega(c) (3090) are described as meson-baryon molecular states, using an extension of the local hidden gauge approach in coupled channels. We investigate the Xi D, Xi(c)(K) over bar, and. Xi '(c) (K) over bar invariant mass distributions making predictions that could be confronted with future experiments, providing useful information that could help determine the quantum numbers and nature of these states.

Title Towards a new paradigm for heavy-light meson spectroscopy Type Journal Article
Year 2018 Publication Physical Review D Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. D
Volume 98 Issue 9 Pages (down) 094018 - 8pp

Abstract Since 2003 many new hadrons, including the lowest-lying positive-parity charm-strange mesons D*(s0) (2317) and D-s1 (2460), have been observed that do not conform with quark-model expectations. It was recently demonstrated that various puzzles in the charm-meson spectrum find a natural resolution if the SU(3) multiplets for the lightest scalar and axial-vector states, among them the D*(s0) (2317) and the D-s1 (2460), owe their existence to the nonperturbative dynamics of Goldstone-boson scattering off D-(s) and D*((s)) mesons. Most importantly the ordering of the lightest strange and nonstrange scalars becomes natural. We demonstrate for the first time that this mechanism is strongly supported by the recent high quality data on the B- -> D+ pi(-)pi(-) provided by the LHCb experiment. This implies that the lowest quark-model positive-parity charm mesons, together with their bottom counterparts, if realized in nature, do not form the ground-state multiplet. This is similar to the pattern that has been established for the scalar mesons made from light up, down, and strange quarks, where the lowest multiplet is considered to be made of states not described by the quark model. In a broader view, the hadron spectrum must be viewed as more than a collection of quark-model states.
