Abstract: Asearch for CP violation in charmless four-body decays of Lambda(0)(b) and Xi(0)(b) baryons with a proton and three charged mesons in the final state is performed. To cancel out production and detection charge-asymmetry effects, the search is carried out by measuring the difference between the CP asymmetries in a charmless decay and in a decay with an intermediate charmed baryon with the same particles in the final state. The data sample used was recorded in 2011 and 2012 with the LHCb detector and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). A total of 18 CP asymmetries are considered, either accounting for the full phase space of the decays or exploring specific regions of the decay kinematics. No significant CP-violation effect is observed in any of the measurements.

Abstract: In the Standard Model of particle physics, the strength of the couplings of the b quark to the u and c quarks, vertical bar V-ub vertical bar and vertical bar V-ub vertical bar, are governed by the coupling of the quarks to the Higgs boson. Using data from the LHCb experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, the probability for the Lambda(0)(b) baryon to decay into the p mu(-)(nu) over bar (mu) final state relative to the Lambda(+)(c)mu(-)(nu) over bar (mu) final state is measured. Combined with theoretical calculations of the strong interaction and a previously measured value of vertical bar V-ub vertical bar, the first vertical bar V-ub vertical bar measurement to use a baryonic decay is performed. This measurement is consistent with previous determinations of vertical bar V-ub vertical bar using B meson decays to specific final states and confirms the existing incompatibility with those using an inclusive sample of final states.

Abstract: The decay-time-dependent CP asymmetry in B0 s. J/. K + K-decays is measured using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.9 fb-1, collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-ofmass energy of 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016. Using a sample of approximately 117 000 signal decays with an invariant K + K-mass in the vicinity of the f( 1020) resonance, the CP-violating phase fs is measured, along with the difference in decay widths of the light and heavy mass eigenstates of the B0 s-B0s system, s. The difference of the average B0 s and B0 meson decay widths, s-d, is determined using in addition a sample of B0. J/. K + p-decays. The values obtained are fs =-0.083 +/- 0.041 +/- 0.006 rad, s = 0.077 +/- 0.008 +/- 0.003 ps-1 and s-d = -0.0041 +/- 0.0024 +/- 0.0015 ps-1, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. These are the most precise single measurements of these quantities to date and are consistent with expectations based on the Standard Model and with a previous LHCb analysis of this decay using data recorded at centre-of-mass energies 7 and 8 TeV. Finally, the results are combined with recent results from B0 s. J/. p + p-decays obtained using the same dataset as this analysis, and with previous independent LHCb results.

Abstract: A search for the decay K-S(0) -> mu+ mu- is performed, based on a data sample of proton- proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1), collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of- mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The observed yield is consistent with the background- only hypothesis, yielding a limit on the branching fraction of B( K-S(0) -> mu(+)mu(-)) < 0.8 (1.0) x 10(-9) at 90% ( 95%) confidence level. This result improves the previous upper limit on the branching fraction by an order of magnitude.

Abstract: A search for the rare leptonic decay B +. μ+ μ- μ+.mu is performed using proton- proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb – 1 collected by the LHCb experiment. The search is carried out in the region where the lowest of the two μ+ μ- mass combinations is below 980 MeV/ c2. The data are consistent with the background- only hypothesis and an upper limit of 1.6x10 – 8 at 95% confidence level is set on the branching fraction in the stated kinematic region.

Abstract: The very rare D*(2007)(0) -> mu(+) mu(-) decay is searched for by analysing B- -> pi (-) mu(+) mu(-) decays. The analysis uses a sample of beautymesons produced in protonproton collisions collected with the LHCb detector between 2011 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). The signal signature corresponds to simultaneous peaks in the mu(+) mu(-) and pi(-) mu(+) mu(-) invariant masses. No evidence for an excess of events over background is observed and an upper limit is set on the branching fraction of the decay at B(D-*(2007)(0) -> mu(+) mu(-)) < 2.6 x 10(-8) at 90% confidence level. This is the first limit on the branching fraction of D*(2007)(0) -> mu(+) mu(-) decays and the most stringent limit on D* (2007)(0) decays to leptonic final states. The analysis is the first search for a rare charm-meson decay exploiting production via beauty decays.

Abstract: Evidence for the decay mode X(3872) -> psi(2S)gamma in B+ -> X(3872)K+ decays is found with a significance of 4.4 standard deviations. The analysis is based on a data sample of proton proton collisions, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1), collected with the LHCb detector, at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The ratio of the branching fraction of the X(3872) -> psi(2S)gamma decay to that of the X(3872) -> J/psi gamma decay is measured to be B(X(3872) -> psi(2S)gamma)/B(X(3872) -> J/psi gamma) = 2.46 +/- 0.64 +/- 0.29, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The measured value does not support a pure D (D) over bar* molecular interpretation of the X(3872) state.

Abstract: A search is presented for massive long-lived particles, in the 20-60 GeV/c(2) mass range with lifetimes between 5 and 100 ps. The dataset used corresponds to 0.62 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb detector at root s = 7 TeV. The particles are assumed to be pair-produced by the decay of a Higgs-like boson with mass between 80 and 140 GeV/c(2). No excess above the background expectation is observed and limits are set on the production cross-section as a function of the long-lived particle mass and lifetime and of the Higgs-like boson mass.

Abstract: The firstmeasurement of J/psi and D-0 production in PbNe collisions by the LHCb experiment in its fixed-target configuration is reported. The production of J/psi and D-0 mesons is studied with a beam of lead ions with an energy of 2.5 TeV per nucleon colliding on gaseous neon targets at rest, corresponding to a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of root s(NN) = 68.5 GeV. The J/psi/D-0 production crosssection ratio is studied as a function of rapidity, transverse momentum and collision centrality. These data are compared with measurements from pNe collisions at the same energy and showno difference in the observed J/psi suppression trend when comparing pNe and PbNe peripheral collisions with PbNe central collisions.

Abstract: The radiative decays of b-baryons facilitate the direct measurement of photon helicity in b -> s gamma transitions thus serving as an important test of physics beyond the Standard Model. In this paper we analyze the complete angular distribution of ground state b-baryon radiative decays to multibody final states assuming an initially polarized b-baryon sample. Our sensitivity study suggests that the photon polarization asymmetry can be extracted to a good accuracy along with a simultaneous measurement of the initial b-baryon polarization. With higher yields of b-baryons, achievable in subsequent runs of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), we find that the photon polarization measurement can play a pivotal role in constraining different new physics scenarios.
