  Title Search for the Rare Decays B-s(0) -> e(+) e(-) and B-0 -> e(+) e(-) Type Journal Article
  Year 2020 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 124 Issue 21 Pages (down) 211802 - 11pp
  Keywords
  Abstract A search for the decays B-s(0) -> e(+)e(-) and B-0 e(+)e(-) is performed using data collected with the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1, 2, and 2 fb(-1), respectively. No signal is observed. Assuming no contribution from B-0 -> e(+)e(-) decays, an upper limit on the branching fraction B(B-s(0) -> e(+)e(-)) < 9.4(11.2) x 10(-9) is obtained at 90(95)% confidence level. If no B-s(0) -> e(+)e(-) contribution is assumed, a limit of B(B-0 -> e(+)e(-)) < 2.5(3.0) x 10(-9) is determined at 90(95)% confidence level. These upper limits are more than one order of magnitude lower than the previous values.

  Title Search for Low-Mass Dark-Sector Higgs Bosons Type Journal Article
  Year 2012 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 108 Issue 21 Pages (down) 211801 - 7pp
  Keywords
  Abstract Recent astrophysical and terrestrial experiments have motivated the proposal of a dark sector with GeV-scale gauge boson force carriers and new Higgs bosons. We present a search for a dark Higgs boson using 516 fb(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector. We do not observe a significant signal and we set 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the standard model-dark-sector mixing angle and the dark-sector coupling constant.

  Title Observation of Time-Reversal Violation in the B-0 Meson System Type Journal Article
  Year 2012 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 109 Issue 21 Pages (down) 211801 - 8pp
  Keywords
  Abstract Although CP violation in the B meson system has been well established by the B factories, there has been no direct observation of time-reversal violation. The decays of entangled neutral B mesons into definite flavor states (B-0 or (B) over bar (0)), and J/psi K-L(0) or c (c) over barK(S)(0) final states (referred to as B+ or B-), allow comparisons between the probabilities of four pairs of T-conjugated transitions, for example, (B) over bar (0) -> B- and B- -> (B) over bar (0), as a function of the time difference between the two B decays. Using 468 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs produced in Y(4S) decays collected by the BABAR detector at SLAC, we measure T-violating parameters in the time evolution of neutral B mesons, yielding Delta S-T(+) = -137 +/- 0.14(stat) +/- 0.06(syst) and Delta S-T(-) = 1.17 +/- 0.18(stat) +/- 0.11(syst). These nonzero results represent the first direct observation of T violation through the exchange of initial and final states in transitions that can only be connected by a T-symmetry transformation.

  Title Measurement of the CP-Violating Phase phi(s) in (B)over-bar(s)(0) -> Ds+Ds- Decays Type Journal Article
  Year 2014 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 113 Issue 21 Pages (down) 211801 - 9pp
  Keywords
  Abstract We present a measurement of the CP-violating weak mixing phase phi(s) using the decay (B) over bar (0)(s) -> Ds+Ds- in a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. An analysis of the time evolution of the system, which does not use the constraint vertical bar lambda vertical bar = 1 to allow for the presence of CP violation in decay, yields phi(s) = 0.02 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.02(syst) rad, vertical bar lambda vertical bar = 0.91(-0.15)(+0.18)(stat) +/- 0.02(syst). This result is consistent with the standard model expectation.

  Title Search for the Lepton-Flavor-Violating Decays B-s(0) -> pi(+/-mu -/+) and B-0 -> tau(+/-mu -/+) Type Journal Article
  Year 2019 Publication Physical Review Letters Abbreviated Journal Phys. Rev. Lett.
  Volume 123 Issue 21 Pages (down) 211801 - 11pp
  Keywords
  Abstract Results are reported from a search for the rare decays B-s(0) -> tau(+/-)mu(+/-) 1T and B -> tau(+/-)mu(+/-), where the r lepton is reconstructed in the channel r- irrg vr. These processes are effectively forbidden in the standard model, hut they can potentially occur at detectable rates in models of new physics that can induce lepton flavor-violating decays. The search is based on a data sample corresponding to 3 fb-1 of proton -proton collisions recorded by the LHCb experiment in 2011 and 2012. The event yields observed in the signal regions for both processes are consistent with the expected standard model backgrounds. Because of the limited mass resolution arising from the undetected r neutrino, the 1.3 and B signal regions are highly overlapping. Assuming no contribution from B r1, r, the upper limit 8(B r 71) < 4.2 x 10-5 is obtained at 95% confidence level. If no contribution from tau(+/-)mu(+/-) is assumed, a limit of B(B r prn < 1.4 x 10-5 is obtained at 95% confidence level. These results represent the first limit on B(B? r5+) and the most stringent limit on B(B tau(+/-)mu(+/-).)
